hi, i didn't have a honeymoon immediately after the wedding because i was pregnant shortly after ROM and the husband had just started work in the company. we've now booked a vacation, just the two of us, to cebu and we're leaving in two weeks' time - you can say that this is our honeymoon of sorts .. can you imagine, almost 3 years and 2 kids later then we're going ... hahahah ..

I got married on 20.08.2008 and I was working the day before and had to go back to work on the 22nd. My AD was on the 24th. I went back to work on the 26th. I did not have a honeymoon. And I dont think we'll be going on one anytime soon. Like SotongLet, our work schedule is horrible.

Anyway I feel that couples nowadays are unlike those of the yesteryears whereby travelling abroad with your fiance/bf then was unheard of. Now couples go on holidays even before they are married so in a way the whole concept of a honeymoon has lost its novelty.

It's no big deal not going on a honeymoon anymore.

wedding date is on 3rd jan 2009. won't be having a honeymoon but is trying my best to persuade my hubby to take me to japan in april or later of the year. hehe before i get pregnant. =) i always feel after having children, traveling won't be that fun as ur heart are still worrying for ur child. So i think a honeymoon is important. Whether to which place, how many days doesn't matter. A trip to malaysia also can be consider a honeymoon =)

Hi Girls,

For cheaper alternatives for honeymoon, maybe you guys can try going to Bali or Batam? That is definately a place for you to relax after months of preparation for wedding. Without a big scale honeymoon, you can also have a small one! A honeymoon is well, important to me as this is the 1st time we are spending time holidaying and relaxing as husband and wife.

If you don't have spare cash or so, you can try to save up and after a few months go to a well-deserved honeymoon!!!

Congrats, girls!

I agree with DearDear! Should celebrate the first time holidaying as husband and wife! I think the feeling will be different even though it's common for couples to travel together before marriage. Don't think I'll be having mine immediately after my ROM and AD on 3 Oct but hope to go somewhere within the next 3 months!

Hello DearDear!

I'll be going down to Natas to check out too! The past few times I was at natas quite lucky to get good deals but have to spend some time "shopping" and comparing prices. Initially, we talked about Maldives, then after realizing the cost, we downgraded to Bali...hahaha...I actually wanna go Japan but the yen is so high now.

HK should be fun! I like HK too...but I think my FH and I agreed on somewhere with almost no shopping, more of the sun, sea and sky to accompany us.

Hope you find good at Natas!

Hi Lai,

I'm planning to go on sat as tomorrow my sister in law will be having her ROM!

Busy month.. Hahahha.. The reason for going HKG is becoz hubby and me never went before.. Prior to that we make yearly trips to Taiwan! It's certainly a nice place to be in! Ahh.. For HKG is more of a budget wise as HKG will definately be cheaper than Taiwan.. By the way, when's ur nuptial?

Oh I see...yes yes should check HK out! I was only in Taiwan when I was very young so can't remember. I feel that HK living standard is slightly higher than Singapore in terms of food, transport and accommodation but it's definitely a great and fun place to be cos it's very cosmopolitan.

My ROM and AD is on 3 Oct!

Hi DearDear,

Woo hoo...you've got a good deal!

Hehe...my FH and I arrived at Expo and left without even going into the NATAS fair because we were defeated by the long long queue.

Thanks for the offer but we're thinking more of beach/resort type of destination! Maybe Maldives (if finances permit) or Bali or something.

Have lots of fun in Shanghai!

i ROM in 2007, and immediately after my ROM, we both also felt that we should go for a Honeymoon, but too late to book any trips, so we just go to JB for a 2 DAY 1 Night Stay in Mutiara Hotel, straight after my ROM... it was just a mini Getaway, but the feeling of travelling together as Hus and Wife is indeed different than before

Initially, i also not planning for honeymoon cause will be super broke after the wedding. But my MIL suggested to go honeymoon no matter what (superstitious reason).

So, we will be going for cruise.. Good idea right.. It is cheap compared to "traditional" honeymoon and u can enjoy the sea breeze.. maybe u gals can consider this too.. Oh ya.. i found out that Superstar Virgo have such things as Honeymoon package.

So I will be getting that one. Hopefully, next year they still have it. Maybe they have bed with mirror on the ceiling HAHAHAHA!!! No lar.. just joking :p

I juz had my ROM on 09-09-09.. and go straight for a mini honeymoon to msia.. i totally agree tat a small getaway as husband and wife is a totally different experience.. anywhere out of spore is good enough.. for us, we both love cooling places.. n in Sept phase.. most places are not cold.. so we juz settle for Genting in msia.. well , to many ppl, it may sound v cheapo place for honeymoon.. bt anyplc out of spore and juz the 2 of us.. is really good enough..

bt 1 piece of advice.. dun go straight after ROM or AD.. is super hactic.. for us, we went the nxt day after our ROM.. imagine, ours juz rom prep only, we also feel tat we hv no time to pack our simple luggage for this small getaway.. n we are sooo tired..

so cant imagine those gng away for honeymoon right after customary wedding.. must b much mre tiring.. so is good to hv a few wks in betw before gng for a getaway..
