hi all, yesterday I met up with Rebecca with my HTB for the site-visiting. She was a very nice and bubbly lady, make us very comfortable. I actually queried her on whether SMC is a 4 or 5 star hotel, she replied me that many ppl have different ways of looking at it, if look at branding wise they are 5 stars because they are under swisshotel. And she said she would considered themselves 5 stars, thats y pricing wise is 5 stars pricing comparable to low end 5 stars hotel price like hilton and copthorne waterfront. But in my opinion, it looks like like a 4 star to me because the place is very small..and facilities limited.
on the 1st floor: a small bar (crossroad bar), the buffet cafe (Ellenborough Market Cafe), 1 main ballroom, 3 function rooms, 2 shops.
2nd floor: spa, pool and a cafe (blue potato) thats by the poolside, small scale fitness centre. The poolside overlook Singapore river..sounds nice the view but when i look at the view during the daytime, can see the riverwater not very clean and some rubbish floating on the riverbank. lol
Thats abt it.
And because there are no chinese restaurant in SMC itself, so they actually engage chefs to come in to cook lor for the Chinese wedding dinner.
