Hi all,

Last Sat I've went to check out the ballroom and indeed it is really nice.

If i'm not wrong, when the curtains are to be drawn, they can look through outside. That means it's a daylight room. Don't am i right but if so, i really love it! haha I like daylight room when i can see outside.
Will check with Rayston when i meet him tomorrow.

I agree the ballroom has its private area. Very nice. Ballroom wise also not bad.

Anyone has gone for the food tasting? Last week i saw some couples having their food tasting sessions. There's sign putting up for food tasting sessions. So cute.

Any feedback of food??
Or anyone has attend the wedding at MC?

The food, service and ambience are fanastic.

The quality of food for banquet dinner was as good as what I had for food tasting.

Yup the whole event is very personalised...even for food tasting they put ur names

The march in was fine...it takes more than 2mins to march in. The stage is low will be good for brides with long trains...coz too much stairs u may step on ur gown and fall which is not graceful for the bride

Hi all
I had signed a contract with MC in May, for the solemnisation venue and lunch buffet at their restaurant.
Now Priscilia told us that the hotel is having a Thai buffet promo during that period, and we are asked to top up to 42+++, which I felt is totally unreasonable. Thai food sounds so cheapo, and not all guests take Thai food (esp our parents) and the jump in price is simply too great.
What advice could you give? This is not the first time MC displayed such 'customer service'..They simply left us with no choice..our ROM is due end Sept.

Hihi...me looking at holding the banquest on dec 08, still looking ard for venues. I like MC's ballroom n the place itself, cos it's by the riverside. But kind of disturbed cos they onli offer 6 dishes for food-tasting. Is that negotiable? Of cos would like to taste all the dishes mah.....

i will be signing a contract with MC tmrw, so far Rayston is very patient and good and meet most of my requests. so far so good lah. my wedding is in Apr 08

What wedding show is it in sep? hold by MC or those exhibitions at suntec? maybe can wait till there to grab better perks rather than signing now?

Though its only 6 dishes for food tasting, but u can top up the dishes for tasting at $25+++ each. Isn't that very cheap already??? imagine u can get fish, shark fin and sea cumumber dishes at such a gd deal

MC has their own florist, so i think u have to go through them for decro...anyway the romance theme is very nice

Yup maybe u can better deals during fair but ur ideal date maybe gone by then...so weigh the pros and cons

the stage looks like the regular size in most ballrooms. If u really have so many family members, ur xiong di who is helping in tossing cheer can stand below the stage at the side or front.

There are a few table decor that you can choose. They are pretty lovely with roses even for the guest tables.

I tot there won't be enough parking space on my AD but to my surprise every guest who drove managed to get a lot. Thus, it should be more than sufficient as there will only be one wedding going on per evening

Went to Marriott's wedding workshop today, almost almost signed up cos my hubby-to-be likes it...but I prefer MC.....

Quite determined to sign for MC, have onli gone down to the ballroom once though, didn't find rayston that frenly even though he received pretty gd comments from u guys...

Was wondering wat kind of perks should I request? will they be more generous with perks for weekdays or weekends?

Hi Ah Hui,
Marriott's ballroom is nice indeed; we nearly signed up as well. But we chose MC in the end because its ballroom is just as nice and its package is more attractive.

As for the kind of perks to request for, it really depends on what is more important to you and your HTB. You can actually exchange things which you don't need in the package for something else which is more essential. Good luck!

You can request for it. I also requested from my coordinator. You can also make known to them your preference of how many waiter/waitress serving how many tables. After all you paid for it. They can try to arrange if there are enough staffs.

I am very keen on MC, but I've heard some negative remarks about the food served at MC. Kinda dampening. Now comtemplating between MC, Novotel CQ and Carlton.

Any comments on that girls?

we didn't get much perks on top of those already in the package cuz both my FH and i are not very good at negotiating :/ it's the same when we signed up for our BS...
we managed to get a bit more parking coupons.. tried to ask for another nite in the bridal suite but failed.

Diana seems fine to me from my interaction with her so far. Very prompt with her replies and quite sincere. ^_^ i'm really looking fwd to my wedding day at MC.

i guess everyone has their opinion and all the feedbacks i got was good for those who had attended weddings at mc... if complains is minimum, should be quite safe...

i had been to ncq and i must say the main ballroom is very pretty!!! but the minus point is that the main ballroom is on level 06... the guests has to wait for the lift and its pretty time consuming... imagine 300 over guests waiting for 2 lifts to transfer them down to level 01 after the dinner (eh, not so sure if there's other alternatives to reach the ground floor) and the reception area looks quite old to me... hence i told huby, no, i wont wana have it there... too inconvenient for our guests...

as for carlton... huby dun seems to like the place... i think the mainroom has got pillars... so strike off the list...

we chose mc because of the fact that there's only one ballroom and only one wedding can happen on that day... which would not cause confusion to guests... their reception area is also exclusive... i like!!! package wise is pretty comprehensive and price wise is affordable too!!! ballroom is pillarless... and the theme is quite nice... hahaha... heard loads of compliments from friends who had their wedding there/attended wedding there... and moreover, its pretty convenient... for guests who wana get public transportation, mrt station is just round the corner and for friends who wana chill out or club and just pop by clarke quay!!!

Yah, me & hubby like MC for this reason. Totally agree with the good location & the only one ballroom. However, hope they will come out with more themes after the reno. 2 themes seem not much choices. Hopefully, MC won't disappoint us when the day comes.

Moomooland, like what sharemoments said, MC's food should be good. My colleague and a friend attended weddings there before and had good comments about the food. Even my friends/colleagues who heard that my banquet will be at MC said that the place and food are good. The ballroom at NCQ is quite nice, but they have two ballrooms, one above another, so there could be two weddings there on the same day, and parking might be a problem. The hotel is also not that near the mrt station, compared to MC. I've not seen Calton's ballroom, so can't comment on that. But between NCQ and MC, i think MC gives a more exclusive feel and is more convenient.

sharemoments: yupz...also planning to go down during wedding show to take a look if possible. too bad we couldn't wait till the wedding show to sign up cuz' we were afraid the date would be taken up by then.

Didn't know they have 2 bridal suites though. Diana showed me one that is facing the clarke quay river from the balcony. u've seen the other one before? r they similar? i know the suites for some hotels are quite different from one another.

the reason why i like MC is cuz' of the large pillarless ballroom, and the good reviews for the food. Service is great too from what i've heard. And the bridal suite is so spacious! Diana said u can even have ur tea ceremony there if u want. hee...
