Hi Master Tong,
I have a few preferred dates for next year, but am not able to find if appropriate as Tongshu isn't out yet. Will you be able to advice if these dates r ok based on bazi? Thanks.

-21 May 2011

Groom: Rabbit (Dec 1975)
Groom's dad: Deceased
Groom's mum: Dragon (Aug 1952)

Bride: Rooster (Dec 1981)
Bride's dad: Horse (July 1954)

I'm wondering if you would be able to give some advice regarding an chuang procedure here?

My future husband and I are intending to an chuang the day before our Actual Day wedding.
When can he remove the items and sleep on the bed as usual?

Is it possible to have the customary like Guo Da Li, serve tea within 100 days but hold the wedding banquet itself next year instead of waiting for 3 years?

Hi ladymonkey,

I can't give you the bad dates as there are way too many and it is also dependant on many factors (eg clashes to your, clashes to parents etc).

13/3 (clash Rooster) and 27/3 (clash Pig) wont clash with any of you. 27th is bit too near to Qing Ming, hence normally some elderly don't like this date.

I can't tell you now if these dates will be good in the tongshu or not as it is not out yet. At most it won't clash to both of you only.To be specific,will have to use Bazi to calculate the dates to see if it is suitable for both of you

Hi Dionne,

I can't advise you based on Bazi (which btw need your time of birth) as this is part of my consultation service and is chargeable, else will be unfair to my clients, hope you understand.

I can only help you check if the dates clashes to your or if it is a very bad date for wedding. As for whether if it is a good general tong shu date, will have to wait for it to come out.

-30 Mar 2011 (within 10 days before qing ming on 5th april,most elderly will not agree you use this date)
-15 May 2011 (not a good date for wedding)
-21 May 2011 (clash Horse, hence cannot use)

Hi Nat,

15/10 does not clash anyone (clash Rooster)

26th June is a very bad day, forget about using this date.

It doesn't matter that the day clash with Rooster. You cannot take siblings into consideration, else you will never find a good date for your wedding. they just have to 'hide' during fetch the bride session.

Hi Cynthia,

2nd Jan 2011 is not a general tong shu good date for wedding. However, it doesn't clash to any ofyou (clash Pig) and this date can be used if the date and bazi is compatible (even if it is not a general good day).

Hi Day Lily,

Normally for An Chuang, once the new bed reaches your home, you cannot sleep on it till AD day(irregardless if you already done your An Chuang or not). Hence earliest he can sleep on it will be on AD dayafter the children jump and roll on the bed

Hi Stacey,

Some believe that you can hold the wedding after 1 yr, some believe in 3 yrs,so it really depends on what their family believes in. End of the day, this is just a mark of respect for the deceased. 3 yrs (to me) is too long. What happens if 3 yrs later,something else happens and another family member pass away? In reality this could happen. So 1 yr will be sufficient if they are ok with it.

And yes, you can do the rest within 100 days

4th Sep 2011 clashes to Dragon, which is none of you (hence a 'potential' good date only). As for whether if it is a general good date in the tong shu, we will have to wait for it to be out to find out.

This does not imply these are good dates yet, just that it doesn't clash and it is not those dates that are not suitable for wedding. However, will have to wait for tong shu to be out to check if it is a general good date. Note that this does not take into consideration both your bazi as a good date in the tong shu can still be deemed inauspicious if the date and bazi is not compatible.

Im thinking of settling my AD as 21st May 2011 since i want to do it in May (on a wkend) but alot of dates are not suitable as advised previously. Is this date good for me?

22nd May clash to Goat, which is none of you. However, this does not imply this is a good date yet as the tong shu is not out yet if you are looking at general dates only. Will need to check the tong shu when it is out.

On other hand, if your bazi is compatible with this date, then this date can be used for your wedding, no matter what the tong shu says.

17/11/2010 (Hari Raya Haji) is a general tong shu good date for wedding and does not clash anyone (clash to Ox).

16/3/2011 does not clash to anyone (clash Rat), hence if you are looking at general dates only, once the tong shu is out and indicates this is a good day, you can use this date too.

Note that both your Bazi is not taken into consideration yet.

This date is not a good date for wedding purpose. However, it does not clash to anyone. However, if you really need to use this date (i mean no choice etc), then at least you must make sure the date is compatible with both your Bazi. But i will advise choose another day, if it is possible

We've shortlisted 12 or 19 June 2011 (Sunday) for our customary wedding. Can I ask what time is an auspicious time for my fiance to come and fetch me?

I have been hearing that rom date is not as important as customary date because rom does not involve tea ceremony. Is it true??

If it is true, when selecting rom date, can we just base on the general tong shu reading of couple's animal sign?

Can "Wan Nian Tong Shu" be used since the Tong Shu for 2011 is not out yet? Also, any diff bet Wan Nian Tong Shu and yearly Tongshu?

P/s advice is 25 Jun 2011 (Sat) a good date for our customary wedding?

There are only 3 "Shi Chen", not that many

It means 1-3am, 3-5am and 5-7am.

For 12th, there is NO good timing for fetch the bride in morning. Hence normally i don't use this day. Only for ROM if need to

For 19th, it will be 7-9am

Tong Shu will only be out either somewhere this month or next month.

ROM is the most important, more than customary date. You can listen to many hearsays..so we analyse it logically. Which is the day both of you become husband and wife? Isn't it the ROM date? If for whatever reason a couple breaks up after ROM and before AD, isn't it in a way divorce? What about some couples who only ROM but no AD? Can we consider they are not married?

ROM is the day both of you officially become husband and wife, hence this is the most important day. Customary is just tea ceremony and a banquet to announce to the relatives that your are married. Of course, being Chinese, we want everything to be good..hence normally i will recommend selecting a good date for both

And yes, since you now know the importance of ROM date, it cannot be selected using tong shu. It has to use Bazi

We don't consider siblings or grandparents's animal signs. If you do, there is a possibility you can never find a good date as every single day will clash with someone in the family. And yes, they can attend your wedding.

I am assuming you are referring to Wan Nian Li, not Wan Nian Tong Shu as there is no Wan Nian Tong Shu

Wan Nian Li is just a calendar. It is based on the rotation of the Earth around the Sun. Lunar calendar is based on rotation of the moon around the Earth. Tong Shu is not a calendar. It is just a book that whereby inside this book, its partial content is used for general date selection.

25th june clashes Snake, hence cannot use.
