Hi yoyo,

Rabbit year will start on the 4th Feb 2011. Since you are considering doing it in Dec, why not wait 2 more months?

Let me know if you still prefer 2010.

Hi esther,

For 2009, the Ox yr will clash to your HTB, who is born in year of Goat.So not too ideal as well.

If you really have to do it, which month of 2010 u looking at?

Hi Master Tong,

My best friend's wedding is in April 2010, whereas I'm holding mine in June 2010. I heard that this is not auspicious to both couples as both dates are less than 90 days apart. Is this true? If yes, how can we avoid the crash if we still would like to attend each other weddings?

Thanks!

Hi Esther,

After 4th Feb, it will be the Tiger year, not 14th Feb CNY.

For your dates:

6 Feb 2010 - Not a general tong shu good day for wedding
7 Feb 2010 - Clash to Horse. Avoid this day.
30 Jan 2010 - Not a general tong shu good day for wedding
31 Jan 2010 - General Tong Shu good date and don't clash to anyone.

So it seems like 31st Jan 2010 will be the best choice if you really have to do it.

Hi Molly,

Yes this is our chinese beliefs. Normally 3 months before and after your own wedding, you cannot attend other people's wedding, funerals, wakes and childbirth.

There is no way to "cure" this. You just have to avoid. The party that goes to the other's party's wedding will be clashed in terms of luck. Eg if you go to your friend's wedding, you will be clashed, not your friend.

In any case, since they are getting married too, they should understand

Hope this helps.

Hi Master Tong,

My maternal grandfather passed away recently. Can I still proceed with my marriage which is about 42 days away from my grandfather's passing?

Can my maternal-side relatives (uncles, aunties & cousins) still attend my wedding?

Please advise me. Thank you very much.

Hi Master Tong,
i would like to seek your advice on the date of 21 Nov 2010. is it a good day for rom&wedding?

Hi mstomrs,

So long as you do it within 100 days, it will be ok. Or you have to wait 1 yr later. They can attend your wedding but some may choose not to. It is really entirely up to them.

Hi joedeene,

Here are the dates analysis:

- 20 Feb 2010 -> Clash to Goat. Cannot use.
- 08 May 2010 -> Not a good day for wedding.
- 09 Aug 2010 -> Not a good day for wedding.
- 08 Sep 2010 -> Not a good tong shu day for wedding.
- 10 Oct 2010 -> Not a good day for wedding

None of these dates are ideal. Maybe you can list some other dates you have in mind ?

Anyway, for this Sat's seminar, i will teach you how to read a Tong Shu yourself and the difference between using Bazi and Tong Shu to select a date. At this end of this seminar, you will see why Tong Shu date selection is not accurate
happy.gif
And you will learn more than you know how wedding dates, customs and traditions. I will even cover some Feng Shui and Bazi Compatibility stuffs. So see you there on that day

Hi hui xin,

That day is not a general good day in the tong shu for wedding. Bazi may be able to overrride that day if the day fits your Bazi.

Hope this helps

Hi Master Tong,

Since Tong Shu date selection is not accurate, should we want to know if a date in 2011 is suitable for marriage, when will then be a good time to check? Or we can seek a master's help with our Bazi and he will be able to advise?

Hello Master Tong,

Is it still advisable for that person to be the bridesmaid/ jiemei if her mum passed away 6 months before the wedding?

Like to hear your opinion in this matter. Thanks.

Hi mujiadventure,

For 2011 dates, now is the best time to do it coz the 2010 dates (esp weekends) are filling up fast and some hotels already open the 2011 dates for booking. I suspect most hotels will open for booking either last quarter this yr or first quarter next yr. So the best time is to do it now.

Hope this helps

Hi Yoyo,

Here are some general tong shu dates you can use for your AD in 2010 if you really must proceed:

- 06/10, 11/10, 20/10, 23/10, 04/11, 13/11, 14/11, 25/11, 26/11, 07/12, 08/12, 20/12,

Note that Bazi is not taken into account yet so these are 'general' dates only. Hope this helps

Hi Hui Xin,

I will need your parents animal signs as well to check for you general tong shu dates for Nov/Dec.

If you want to use Bazi to select dates (which is the correct method as a good day in the tong shu can still be deemed inauspicious for both of you if the date is not compatible with both your Bazi), I do charge for it as it is part of my consultation service and i can't do it free or it will be unfair to my clients. You can email me at [email protected] and i will provide you with more information. Thanks.

Hi zrluvkt,

Here are some "general" Oct 2009 dates you can use for ROM:

- 03/10, 08/10

Only 2 dates available as the rest all clashes to either of you or your parents.

For your friend's wedding, you mean in Nov 2010 (or 2009)? If 2010, then normally 3 mths before and after your wedding, you are not suppose to attend other people's wedding, funerals and childbirth. So bridesmaid is not advisable.

Hi GuanYing,

15th May 2010 is ok provided none of you or your parents are born in year of the Goat. Bride's parents are born in yr of the Goat, so not advisable to use this day.

Hi zrluvkt,

Yes that day is not suitable. I know in the tong shu it says Good for Wedding. BUT there are other layers of filtering that whoever select for you did not take into account for. If you add in those layers of filtering, that day is not so ideal anymore, unless really no choice then use.

Here are some good weekends dates in 2010 (based on tong shu) you can use:

- 10/07, 11/07, 01/08, 12/09, 18/09, 26/12.

Hope this helps

Hi Joyce_Lin,

These 2 dates are not so suitable. I know in the tong shu it states as "Good for Wedding", which is probably why your in-laws selected these dates. But there are many other information in the tong shu that needs to be taken into account and taking those into consideration, these 2 dates are not so ideal. If there is still a chance to change (without angering your in-laws or paying huge penalty to the hotel), then try to change to a better date. If not, you can still get by it provided the date is compatible with both your Bazi.

Hope this helps

Hi Tulips,

If the family is very traditional, then she cannot attend other people's wedding or give red packets within 1 year. However, in modern times, most people only practice 100 days as a mark of respect for the person who pass away. So it really depends how traditional the family is.

Thank you Master Tong, that means we shall seek out a master now and help us calculate using our Bazi for a good AD date in 2011? We'r concerned about the hotels too, and we are intending for it to happen on 20 Mar 2011.

Hi Master Tong,

Thanks for the advice, but I have signed the contract with a hotel for wedding on 15 May 2010. I think I have no choice but just go ahead. Could you advise me a good time on that day to fetch the bride?

Bride & groom: dog
Bride parents: Goat
Groom father: Cow

Thank you...

Hi mujiadventure,

Yes you are correct. If you are planning for March 2011, you must book now coz as far as i know, some hotels already open for booking for 1st quarter of 2011. Try to plan early instead of last min, else your favourite hotel might be taken by someone else

Hi zeroaal,

Here are the analysis for the dates:

1.31st Dec 2009 - Good general tong shu date for wedding.
2.1st Jan 2010 - Not a general good tong shu date for wedding
3.14th Feb 2010 - 1st day of CNY!

Hence only 31/12/2009 can be used for your ROM. Hope this helps.

Thank you Master Tong for your explaination. I have a another question to seek your opinion.

Is it a myth or why is it that the groom and bride should not meet each other on the eve of their wedding day?
