Hi David,

My HTB was born in the year of 1979 21 st of jan so not sure is a year of goat or horse and I was born in the year of dog 15/06/1982. We had plan to get married on 21/02/2009 which is our tea cermony and dinner at 22/02/09 just two mths more to go. Is it a good day for us ?

Well... this is the date that was chosen by our previous Shifu but somehow he is no longer been contacted. However, we are rather worried because we not yet know our Guo Da Li, installing the bridal bed etc. Anyway, can you mail me your quotation thru this [email protected]

Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks alot.

Hi Heidi,

Your HTB was born in the yr of the Horse. 21/02/09 is a general good Tong Shu date for wedding. 22/02/09 is not a Tong shu date for wedding purpose. I can't advise whether if it is a good day for both of you without seeing your Bazi.

I've sent you the quotation. Thanks and Happy New Year Heidi.

Hi David,

My HTB and me are now looking for a date for our ROM solemnisation. It will be a small party held at chalet bungalow. But most of the chalet only allow us to book 3 months in advance. And the bungalow is actually very popular, so most of the Mar & Apr weekend already fully booked.

So we have to choose another date. So we are looking at May or Jun 09. But my future MIL is saying these 2 months are not good for ROM, and unhappy with us to choosing date on these 2 months.

Please advise. And looking forward to hear from you soon. Thanks. =)

Hi Wifey Vicky,

There is no such thing as you cannot get married in May or Jun 09. The elder people believe that you cannot get married in the middle of the year because both you and your spouse will be "half husband half wife".

However, this is just a myth. There is definitely no such thing, so do not worry about it. There is no logic to this "theory" or belief. In Chinese Metaphysics, there is only one month that is not good for marriage, which is the month that clashes with the year. This is the month that I will avoid in wedding dates selection.

But, sometimes it is hard to convince the elderly, so whenever possible, in order to please them, I will advise you to choose months they are happy with. End of the day, this is your wedding day and should be a happy event

Hope this helps and have a Happy New Year

Hi David,

May I check with you, as my HTB's younger brother hold his wedding during Sep 09 and our wedding will be on Jan 2010 during the lunar year of 2009 can it be done ? How many months should we hold the customary apart in order to attend each other ceremony and not to "cong" each other?

Thanks, appreciate your reply!

Hi david,

Hi Ping,

For siblings, it is believed that they should not hold their wedding on the same year.

Strictly from the perspective of Chinese Metaphysics, there is no such rule. This is a Chinese belief.

By right, it should be at least 12 months (1 year) apart.

Hope this helps.

Hi David,

In that case, it is not possible to hold the two wedding within the year or it is just a chinese belief ? As some forum say it is ok within 3 months. If we do it, is it the second couple are not good ?
What about as i am born in the monkey year, it is that i cannot marry in the tiger year ? Sorry for some many questions.

Hi Ping,

This is a Chinese belief. By right, according to Chinese belief, siblings should not hold their wedding within 1 year or on the same year. However, there are some who "cheat" a little by holding it on different years based on the lunar calendar.

Frankly, we cannot "measure" whether the first or second couple is no good. There are no recorded facts about it. As they are siblings, the best is to avoid since whether if it is the first or second couple that is no good, we do not wish either to happen.

Yes you are right. If you born in the Monkey year, you are advised not to marry in the Tiger year. if you must, do it before 4th Feb 2010. It still belongs to the year of the Ox.

Hope this helps.

Hi coco lee,

It is not a good day for marriage.

For Dec 09, you can try 6th or 13th Dec 09. They are general good days and don't clash to you.

Hope this helps.

Hi Christina,

These 2 days doesn't clash to any of you.

However, they are not general Tong Shu auspicious dates for wedding purpose, esp. 22nd Nov which is not a good day.

Hope this helps Christina.

Hi Swing me,

There is no such thing as Tiger year not good to get married in. There are millions of happy couples in the world that gets married in the Tiger year. And there are also many couples who gets married in the Rabbit year (or any other year that is "suppose" to be good for marriage by animal zodiac sign alone), but end up divorcing . There is no logic to this. It is just a 'belief" or "urban legend" as you might want to call it.

Hope this helps

Hi Jere's Wife,

For 2010 dates, the Tong Shu for 2010 is not out yet and will only be out around July period. As such, the only way to select auspicious dates for 2010 now is to use Bazi (in combination with other date selection techniques), which is a much more accurate and precise technique for date selection.

Hope this helps.

Hi Justina Yip,

15/5 is not a general Tong Shu date for wedding purpose.

Although 20/9 is stated in the Tong Shu as general auspicious date for wedding, there are other "factors" in the Tong Shu that render this day not so ideal for wedding. If possible, a better date can be chosen.

Hope this helps

Hi Stephanotis,

This is not a good date for wedding.

In fact, the whole month is not ideal for wedding purpose as this is the month that "clashes" with the year.

Hope this helps

Hi coco lee,

I assume you are referring to 2009. This day doesn't clash to any of you and is a general auspicious date for wedding.

Some other auspicious tong shu dates that you can consider:

- 21/9
- 29/9

However, I cannot tell if these dates are good for both of you without using Bazi.

Hope this helps.

Hi Noella,

14th June is a general auspicious Tong Shu day for wedding, but this day clashes to you. Therefore, it is not advisable to use this day.

Hope this helps.

Hi Joanne,

20/9 is not a general good day for wedding either.

After 7th lunar mth, the nearest general auspicious weekend date for wedding will be 3rd Oct 09.

Hi Noella,

Only 25th Oct is good date that is usable. This is in general only. I don't know if it will be good for both of you or not.

Btw, by now, most of the hotels are already fully booked for 2009 weekend dates. Most of my clients are selecting dates for 2010 now. You might have to consider either lunch or weekdays if you need to carry out your AD in 2009.

Hope this helps.

Hi Jacasser,

The ROM will be the more important date. That is the day both of you offically and legally become husband and wife. The AD is more of a customary practice, unless both your ROM and AD falls on the same day.

However, in any case, since marriage is such an important event in a person's life, we will choose auspicious dates for both ROM and AD.

Hope this helps.

Hi Lexis,

Frankly, the 2009 weekends dates for most of the banquet venues are all fully taken up by now, even for Nov, Dec and Jan 2010.

Some of the dates you might want to consider: 18/11, 30/11, 6/12, 17/12, 29/12, 11/1/10, 20/1/10, 23/1/10, 29/1/10.

These are general Tong Shu auspicious days only. I have no idea if it is good for both of you specifically as the only way to determine that will be using Bazi.

Hope this helps

Hi Wendy,

You may want to try these general auspicious dates: 19/11, 1/12, 6/12, 13/12, 25/12, 31/12.

For your case, a lot of the good days in Oct-Dec clashes to either both of you or your parents. Hence there are not many days left.

Hope this helps.
