Hope everyone's having a great year end celebration!

Nope, we didn't have a wedding planner. My hubby and I shared all the wedding tasks between ourselves. We only involved our helpers for the AD. We had 7 jiemeis and 8 brothers. Apart from the gatecrashing, our brothers did very minimal on the day. It was the jiemeis who really helped me. There were 4 jiemeis who were really on the ball for us. They were demanding gals! Haha... but they really worked hard and got the job done. We had 2 MCs, my Maid of Honour jiemei and hubby's Bestman bro.
My suggestions:
- You don't really need a helper to be the AV controller. But need to get your CDs/ DVDs in the right order and just instruct the Hotel AV guy on which ones to play first.
- It's important to get the day's sequence right. So type out all your instructions for the relevant people involved on running your show.
- To keep things well paced, keep fine tuning your AD sequence so that everyone/ everything has some small allowance for errors, delays, last minute changes, etc.
- Conduct pre-wedding briefing with your helpers and give them a free treat at the same time! Make sure everyone is comfortable with their given tasks and know what to do.
- Have more helpers involved by pairing them up if you think they are not very experienced. But assign one good helper to be the "leader". The leader should be able to guide the rest to do their tasks properly.
- On the AD, you can't do anything except smile, look magnificant and follow all your leader's instruction. So that one person should know your precise wishes and every little detail that has to be carried out on the day. So, keep going through your mind what are the things that needs to be done on the day.
Hope it helps.
