We have short listed a few hotels to view & are quite keen on MBS. We're planning to hold our wedding banquet on 25/12/14.
Has anyone hold their wedding banquets there? How is the food & ambience? Is the ballroom easily accessible?

We are interested in holding our banquet in MBS but have read some negative reviews, like the food is from caterer and hence not so good and that they are very sticky about a lot of stuff.. So it will be great if more people can share their experience about MBS wedding banquet. In addition, we will be grateful if you can share your MBS package with us. Thanks in advance!!!

Anyone book mbs package with additional 0.7 charges?
I was quote 17.7 % charges.
10% for service
7% for gst
Additional 0.7%
The coordinator said this is the standard calculation in industry.
Anyone know why?

The calculation should be:
Actual price + 10% Service charge = A
(e.g. $1000 + 10% = $1100)
A + 7% GST = B
(e.g. $1100 + 7% = $1177)
B should be the nett price already
Or another formula is Actual price X 1.177
This is how my co-ordinator told me when I check on how the hotel derived the nett amount after '++'

Most of the ballrooms are the same in MBS except the carpet. Notice Level 3 is beige n Level 4 is Maroon colour.
My personal experience overall with MBS from hotel service to my wedding is very good..
Do take note that you all may ask for butler service to deliver ur gowns etc... to the ballroom from hotel side n vice versa.. so I just walk over to the convention centre after resting at my hotel..
Apologies that I unable to share my package with you all cos my package is 2012 package n is old price. They have increase prices in 2013.

I read a few bad reviews about Jennifer here for past weddings, abit worried. But she was prompt in answer my questions, so hopefully everything will be fine

so far she is prompt and patient!
If you see the past reviews on this thread, it seems that she will be MIA most of the time. But that was back in 2012, so hopefully she's better now.
Yeah so far she's been answering all my questions too, so I feel quite alright

Hi oliviacnn, was tended to by aih kim as well, she seems okay so far. we went down impromptu as we were nearby and she actually met up with us and showed us around, while explaining the package she also gave tips on the florists and suggested we went for minimum number of tables and upgrade on a need to basis.

Hi all,
We just signed up with MBS for our wedding dinner during their show last week.
They told us that we will not know who is handling our wedding until after the show.
We were promised 1 week but till now they have not charged our card and also not informed us who our coordinator is.
This is rather alarming to me, any1 else have similar issues with them ?
