what???!!!!! all that advertising & hype, I would thought they are quite credible! so how?? any recommendations if I want to pamper myself while losing some inches???

I dun think we can rely on advertisement and hype to know if it is really credible .. best to know through people who have tried. just like Adonis facial which appear on TV and local magazines everywhere everywhere, but friends who tried gave me negative feedback.

I know GCN does sell fat-burning pills for consumption which you may want to try .. you can also use firming products and apply on the areas you want to firm and tone. of course diet helps as well .. just cut down on rice and carbhohydrates and that helps too.

i've tried marie france & they emphasized a lot on low-fat diet.the wraps only helps in body-contouring. if u're considering going there, be prepared to spend at least $3k. the sales will keep pushing you for further package. thus, u must be firm & know how far u want to go.i've lost most of my weight due to the diet.

Hi Ching,
Thanks for your advice. But hard to tell how you lost the fats since you were on low-fat diet & wraps at the same time right? Maybe your $$ is not wasted afterall!
happy.gif
Are you still going there? What kinda low fat diet? Maybe I should try it too!

Hi all,
This seems to be an interesting topic. I think I have the same intention as CK. Im also a slacker in excerising and wish to drop some fats down! Wonder how much you will need to spend before the results? And how far in between each session should you attend in order to maintain?

Hi

I've spent $8k. So far, I've lost about 5kg. Now, I can dig up the clothes like jeans and pants I bought many years ago and I could wear! The wrap is good for contouring.. at least my waistline is more obvious. But you must able to foot the amount and keep a good diet as to "not to undo the work".

hi,

just an afterthought after reading the postings...

as compared to the $3-8K spent @ slimming centres, i've also lost 5+kg over the last 2 months & have spent on the following:

- gym/aerobics membership >> Cost: less than $500
- 1 bottle of YSL absolus contour >> Cost: $60
- watching my diet - no overeating, no fatty/fried stuff, more veggies/fruits/water >> Cost: Priceless
- exercising on my own -crunches and jogging >> Cost: Priceless

so, all in all, i've spent ard $560 cash & my time & effort (priceless) to achieve the same desired outcome!!?

is it worth paying SO MUCH for the slimming centres when u probably can do this on your own??? all it takes is some discipline & perseverance

Hi KPO,

I used to be very fat. Its very tough if the person herself is the fat kind. Losing even 1 kg is difficult. Perhaps you are not so much to the plump side so its easier for you to lose the 5kg.
happy.gif

Hi Anxious,
Since you have already spend so much, do keep to the diet they adviced you. So that you can stay trim & happy.
happy.gif
As long as you feel that you have achieved good results then forget the pinch from the pocket. Its worth it! kekeke

Hi KPO,

Are you still using the YSL absolus contour i told you about ? i'm thinking of trying the latest one.. have u tried ?

hi candy,

i'm not sure wat is considered fat...my weight 2 months ago was 65kg. it's probably not in the "obese" category but it was enough for my Dr. to ask me to lose weight!
happy.gif

i think watever weight range u r in...as long as u set ur mind to lose some weight & put in some time & effort...u'll be able to achieve it with perseverance & motivation!

hi kiroro,

hmm...haven't been using for a while & bottle is finishing anyway. juz sticking to my crunches now...safer bet!

anyway, u dun need the cream lah...ur figure is SO ideal! i'll give my arm & leg to have ur figure man! :p~~~

But wedding itself is quite expensive already so may think twice about joining a slimming centre. What is the YSL absolus contour thing? How does it work? Seems effective?? I want to buy I want to buy!!!!

Hi CK,

There was this recipe (soup) that my ex's mom used to cook for him, and he lost from 100 kg down to 70 kg in 3 months!

I don't have a copy of the recipe but can roughly remember the ingredients used to cook it :

cabbage, onions, tomatoes, green caspium, celery

and cook them all in a pot of water. drink the soup whenever u r hungry , and strictly no other food .. do this everyday per week on alternate weeks .. it really is effective ! however, it does dry out the skin

er... the soup doesn't sound very appetising!! might as well try the Cambridge diet! also liquid form of dieting ... Anybody tried before & does it really work?? Saw quite a few of my friends on it & it seems to work! But just can't bring myself to miss all the yummies out there!!!!!

the soup is bland .. my colleague tried cambridge diet but he said it is not effective.

i think if you don't eat rice, it will definitely help .. at least for me it works!

Ya man! shall try the 'reduce that RICE' method, though I have been very 'Fan Tong' ... my appetite is comparable to a guy's! ;P
A friend's recommending the Marie France Herbal Creme (cost $140! a tube).. don't know should I try that or go with the YSL absolus contours I just discovered from you guys?? Man- this website is useful!!! =)

Hi CK,

Same here! I used to eat alot of rice. Later then I realised that rice is the CULPRIT making me so full & heavy!

I would suggest you try what kiroro has recommended - YSL. Since it is tried & tested by the people here. As for the Herbal Creme you may not know the effectiveness.

Hi Candy, CK,

I NEVER really like rice in the first place .. but then my parents used to make me eat rice 'cos they think i'm too skinny .. however, i feed on potatoes alot since young .. and still does
happy.gif

eat fried chicken wings every day too .. my favorite.. i take alot of small meals .. and towards the dinner time and night, i cut down on food intake .e.g. morning - char bee hoon or 2 curry puffs , afternoon - mee rebus or char kway teow, or teow chew porridge (eat the dishes but touch only half bowl of porridge) and of course my chicken wings .. for dinner i will just eat the dishes without the rice.

avoid taking too much fruits cos it contains sugar. Never skip breakfast .. you will end up eating more during lunch and dinner. eat many small meals.

candy

Yup kiroro,

I try to take my breakfast everyday. Or else like you said, end up eatting more during lunch. It will be too late, already stuffed yourself with too much. kiroro, you are kind of the slim & perfect body type of female. How envious!

Hi candy,

Not good to skip breakfast also becos when one gets hungry, one becomes angry/bad mood .. like what i always tell my friends ... a hungry cat is an angry cat .. hahaha

Thanks for your compliments

I used to be slimmer around 52 kg and now i'm at 55 kg and cannot fit into alot of my clothes already!
Thus will like the shed some unwanted fats to be able to squeeze into my clothes.

by the way, do you know of any products that can slim the face ?

candy

Hi kiroro,

A very good question! Till now I still no idea how to slim the face!
angry.gif
My face used to be very very fat! with that double or even TRIPLE chin!

However, I realised that when overall my body slims my face slim down too. Now I am still quite happy with who I am.

You find your face chubby?

me would love to know any ways to slim down face too as i also have chubby face n quite a small frame. :| anyone knows ??

candy

If I am not wrong, you can't really slim it. You can only tone it by using toning products. Hmm...facials helps too. When they massage it somehow helps it to firm up.

ya! think candy is right ... Biotherm has some 'contouring' products for the face. They are quite generous with samples so ask for some to try! Facial should help also ....
I am starting to go for facials regularly, quite fun! But would like to go for one that is 'All under One Roof', spa, slimming, facials etc ... Any ideas?

Tomorrow I will be going for my 1st facial! Made an appt with the Sothys @ OUB Centre. Will feedback to you guys after I've tried.

kiroro, I will also make an appt with Daphane @ Sogo after the facial tomorrow.

Hi Candy,

u mean u are trying out both Sothys ?

Hi CK,

I've not been to spa or slimming center before ..

candy

Hi kiroro,

Yup I will try both Sothys & see which one I prefer. In terms of flexibility in time, it will be Sogo. Because they have appts on Sat & Sun. Whereas the one at OUB works till Sat afternoon.

Anyway both are quite near my place. No difference. So will try out both then decide.

Hi All,
The YSL product sounds like a worth buy ya? So can anyone help me with how much does it cost? Does it available at other places than Metro YSL counters? How long does the thing last and how soon will we be able to see the results? Does it need to be accompanied with diets or excerising??
Thank you

Hi All,

I was reading a japanese magazine last week where they compared the results of using diff firming products on the market .. guess what ? the latest YSL firming product (the successor of absolus contour) came out first !! they actually show the statistics of the arm before and after .. clarins firming product doesn't work as i see in the report ..

kiroro

Hi Mint,

How long have u been using it ? I've used it for 2 weeks and the result is visible. I'm still with the first bottle i bought in Oct 1999 cos i used it for about close to a month in oct - nov 1999, and the start on it again for about 2-3 weeks in Feb this year before my ROM cos i was wearing a cheongsum and need to look firm ..

I wonder how long can i keep it since i still have the first bottle i bought ?

Hi gals

Just went thru the whole thread of this topic and realised that maybe there is hope for me afterall!! I am abt 1.6m and weigh 60kg and my problem areas are my arms, thighs and hips/buttocks. My measuremts are 38-29-39 I used to be VERY FAT(76kg) but managed to lose all those weight thru appetite suppression pills during a period of 6mths. I never bothered to exercise during that time and now I see lots of stretch marks...esp on thighs & hips.

Disappointing fact is my arms are still as big as before! I think overall the arms only lost a pathetic 1/2 or 1 inch! All the ppl i asked always tell me that there's nothing you can do to reduce fat arms...always say excercising makes it look even bigger! I really feel that it's such a pity not to wear a sleeveless gown after all that effort to reduce weight frm 76kg to 59kg! Also my hips....*sigh* they're such a pain when I try on skirts/pants! I always have to get a size bigger to accomodate the hips and the waist band will be really loose.

The YSL product I read abt u gals using...will it work for someone like me? Or are there any other options for me reduce those flabby arms and hips??

Hi flabby,

I am 1.6m & my heaviest was 60kg!My waistline was 31-32'!!! I can't believe it myself. I know how you feel. But now I am between 47-49kg.

I think you should give it a try - YSL. Since it seems very effective. I hope you can be successful in losing those unwanted fats. Don't give up!

Hi Flabby,

In the jap magazine i saw, they measured the arms and legs. and YSL emerged as the winner ! I can't remember what other brands were tried on the japanese women .. but i remembered clarins. the YSL product tested was the latest one, white in color. How i came to know about these was thru a taiwanese magazine (called BEAUTY) that i bought in 1999 and they compare diff firming products and seems like YSL was the recommended one so i bought it. Before that i was using Christian dior but that has no effect .

Like Candy said, dun give up !!

Hi Candy
Tks for encouragemt! The doctor I went to did mention that the least I can weigh is abt 55kg cos he mentioned my bone structures was rather big. he told me to feel my hips and it was the hip bone rather than flesh I felt...so I think no hope of running down further...only hope to tone up the vital parts and not look so 'jelly'!!
happy.gif

Hi kiroro
Tks for ur wonderful info!I will try the YSL product. You mentioned that there is a latest one...so is it available at S'pore counters already? Actually how does it work? How much you reduced since you tried it? Sorry ah...I really very curious..and desperate too!

Tks!

Hi Flabby,

Yes, it is available in singapore now. not sure how it works though .. i didn't measure my stats actually, but i know it looks firm and i can fit in my clothes without flabbiness and it looks toned.

Hi CK,
i went to Haach before for their facial and i had a really bad experience. those beauticians are young n very inexperienced. if i am not wrong, they earn by commission too n they hard-sell ALOT. i sign up for a course of 14 times n at that time they were telling me abt this $68 promotion which will be ending but i still see this never ending promotion of Haach going on. everytime after my facial, i look like i have been stung by bees so i stop going back after a few times. i rather forgo my $$ then to visit them again. i went to the one beside centerpoint and there's no privacy at all. there's no individual room for facial, the beds are all cramp next to each other. they take male customers too so u can imagine that.

for slimming, i did not try it myself. my friend did. after $4k and not an inch gone !!

Hi CK,

I heard the same comments as what Sunny posted here. They were not experienced and the products are lousy .. after so much hype and advertisement .. i heard the same comments of Adonis too .. but think Adonis is better than haach

Hi Kiroro,
I've been using the YSL thingy for about 1 month. I did not notice any visible difference myself, but my hubby commented on the "changes" on the 1st day he arrived back home (he hasn't seen me for 6 weeks), so I guess it is really working. But I honestly think my arms and tummy are still flabby, coz I have been cheating on the exercise part. oh well. :p
