arkie, which ballroom are you taking? The Grand ballroom? Maybe I'll just ask my coordinator but i think chances are low.

xmasxmas, yup I will have to pay for food tasting. They say unless i take the Grand Ballroom otherwise all food tasting will have to pay lor.

ladies, can you tell me why you choose Oriental?

i checked out oriental today. i must say they have to nicest theme decoration as they put alot of effort in it. however, their ballroom is so so only. max can only put 35 tables for a long march in and the ballroom is in an odd shape. the ballroom looks so squeezy imo. this is my only concern. otherwise, oriental is by far, have the most impeccable service from their coordinator to the banquet manager, bridal salon and the food. my partner likes oriental alot but i'm still trying to convince myself.

xmasxmas > i hv yet to sign my contract.it was a "verbal" agreement..i guess probably it slipped my coordinator's mind..cos after i reminded her, she has fulfilled wat she promised me initially ..

winny > i m taking garden suite..i guess i m given the perks bcos my consumptions will be very low.. :p

mintz > i tink it depends on how many more cards u r requesting from them..

iLuvPurin > it really depends on wat factor is most impt to u..as for me, i m really impressed by their service and the different themes tat they had..the decor really brings out the themes tat they r trying to portrait..though i muz admit tat all ballrooms r of ood layout, except the Atrium..

Hey all!

I just had my wedding on Sat! It was great. Our guests commented on how everything went really smoothly and were impressed with the food. At the last minute most people we invited could make it and thankfully managed to get the Atrium suite from Garden Suite.

My bridal party was kinda stressed out with all the last minute things they had to do but I doubt that any of the guests even realised. I on the other hand gave up and did all i wanted to do and left it to them hee.

I cant wait to see my pics now!

congrats char!! very glad to hear your banquet went on smoothly and you had a great experience with oriental.

i was down at the area that afternoon and popped by to have a look at the dinner settings at both ballrooms. i love your centrepiece! did you have to pay extra for them?

Hi guys, jus wanted to ask for your opinion. Do you think I ought to be worried why oriental is hardly pushing me to sign the contract? It seems I'm chasing them more than they are chasing me for the 5k deposit!

Hi Char, Congratulations!!

Which theme did you choose? Can you share with us the table settings?

arkie, who is your coordinator? The very last time I tried to negotiate with her, she said cannot. I'll drop her an email again. Kekeke...

Hi fidelity, I think no need to worry. Guess they are not as pushy as some hotels. My coordinator is about the same way i think, not pushy and very friendly. I feel very comfortable with her. =)

Hey all yes, i did use the love theme, the VIP and Bridal centrepiece had Green Eustoma incorporated into them with white roses and similarly for the floral stands. I changed the guests tables to the bowl which i did not even get a change to take a look at or see what had happened with them (bowl at no extra cost, green eustoma $100 extra)

Sorry ladies, no photos yet, in the mad rush my camera ended up with my mum who was probably too busy chatting with friends. hope my pg got some shots. some of my friends will probably have pics.

Arkie - even if ppl say that you dont really need to run through stuff and can be sorted on the actual day it will still be good to run through everything. otherwise, just let everyone else worry abt it and enjoy yourself.

char > i was at oriental last sat and i saw the dream theme at the oriental and your love theme which i thought was so romantic! i like the centrepiece for the bridal table. i realised your bridal tables are in the centre rather than in front of the stage. the coordinator mentioned that someone from the bridal table is a korean who prefers to engage with the guests, tt's the reason why the tables are placed in the centre.

I just had my wedding at Oriental on Saturday. It was GREAT! My guests are all gushing about the impleccable service, the great decorations and good food. Oriental is really value for money.

My wedding planner at Oriental (Sandy) was a great help for my wedding. She is accomodating and gave a lot of suggestions for the wedding program and day. Her great coordination also help to reduce my stress during the wedding day. I think the help and services from Oriental is really worth the extra $$$.

Leave things to the good hands of Oriental. =)

oriental is really good. although i did not take up oriental due to the small ballroom, the service was excellent. my coordinator was also sandy. very patient and nice lady. oriental really take alot of effort to deliver for all their wedding couple. i met the banquet director, he was great too! excellent service by all the oriental staff.

Most likely coz my mom and his parents love it. I quite like it too. But not sure how it looks like in the atrium. My coosrdinator said she will inform me once there's any opportunity(wedding) to view to the atrium in happiness theme. Still waiting though...coz the dream and love themes r more popular. =)

i have seen happiness theme actual ballroom setup and both my hubby and i love it! the unique lantern centrepiece remains throughout the entire dinner. most hotels will place red roses as centrepieces but oriental uses lanterns. their table settings are also meticulously designed and arranged. i will take up happiness theme if i chose oriental.

Hi all,

my partner and I are considering Oriental as well,

Can anyone share with us their wedding package?

Thanks in advance

Regards
Daniel

Hi all,

Can those of you who took up the Garden Suite share with me what are your perks? Also, how did you guys do the march-in? The door to the stage is only like....less than 10 steps???

mintz0309

New Member
hi vanillasky.. unfortunately true. the march-in for garden suite is really short. that's one of the reason why i changed to atrium suite, though also partially because my guest list grew..

hi kaistarz, emailed you. from another kind btb who shared it with me last time. =)

hi mintz...thanks for the reply. I have no probs not doing a long march-in, but the march-in for garden suite is way too short
sad.gif
It will look funny, wouldnt it? Also, the 2 tables near the other door wouldnt be able to see the couple until they are on stage
sad.gif

can share with me what are some of the perks u had? are the perks for atrium suite and garden suite the same?

Hi mintz0309,

Thanks alot. i had received it. I'm holding it at Garden Suite, trying to do a L-Shaped march-in. Slightly longer.. wondering what will be the arrangements of tables be like..

Anyone tried L-shaped march-in from the other door near the end?

Cheers.

Hi KaiStarz,

I thought of doing the march-in from the other door too, but is it possible? The space at the other door seems quite small also...

So you have signed up for the Garden Suite? Who is your coordinator?

mintz0309

New Member
hi vanillasky and kaistarz, i remembered a helper at the wedding show told me it's possible for a L-marchin if you have lesser tables. perhaps you can check with your coordinator?

and yeah vanillasky, my perks for garden suite and atrium suite pretty much the same..

vanillasky -> are you looking at luncheon or dinner at garden suite? you wanna pm me what is offered to you so far? can help to see what else you can ask for. =)

Hi all,

My fiance and I are considering Oriental as well. However, we are worried about the food. Any comments about their food?

In addition, because I'm not working yet, I'm a little worried about the costs of the dinner (u know, after the ang baos and all). Anyone who can share with me how much u need to actually fork out for the dinner there? we are looking at about 20 tables.

hi Daniel,

I have the oriental package with me actually. What I'm curious is how much we really need to fork out for the dinner. In my case, the dinner shld cost abt 22k, but after considering ang baos n all, how much do we really fork out? i know it depends but i wish to know a rough gauge. =P
