HTH!

hihi anyone held or considering holding ROM at Harbourview Suite or Garden Suite? I saw their ROM set up at Harbourview Suite on their wedding show last week. Quite like the decor, simple elegant yet cosy. Considering taking it up, any comments on these 2 suites?

I am doing mine at the function room on the AD i dont see the point of paying aditional just for that 1 hour unless you are doing on a separate day.

yes i'll holding my solemnization at the harbourview suite. love the suite for its quiet elegance. as i'll be holding my sol and banquet on the same evening, my coordinator told me that i can use the decor (ie the flower stands along the aisle) from the ballroom for decor in the suite.

Sweet.....

Then again if your bargaining skills are good, you dont need to have at least 35 tables to be entitled for pianist & Spa treat..

Puzzle me why on one take Xi theme yet to see the Dream theme full set up in the grand ballroom if is too dull might consider Xi. Maybe have to wait till Cheryl AD cos according to Sandy not much couples using Dream.

Nehoc, I think Xi theme maybe too chinese which not all couples will like...

As for dream theme, I believe is the colour issue. Unless parents and relatives are willing to accept black.. if not couples wont take the risk to have it. Afterall, wedding should be a happy occasion...

Actually the dream theme is not as black as everyone thinks. It is more grey as there are plenty of silver organza. Together with the yam roses, it looks very grand. The only problem is that the invitaion cards are black but you can request for them to give you the red cards. For me I took half in red (for relatives) and half in black (for friends).

Hope my info helps. If not you are welcome to take a look during my wedding

Hi,

Does anyone know the chinese name for Mandarin Oriental? For those of you who had it in Garden Suite, how did you put the chinese wordings in the invitation card coz I udnerstand from my coordinator that there is no chinese name for Garden Suite.

Can you PM me a copy of your invitation card for sample? coz the one given by my coordinator, the chinese portion for the hotel's name and room's name is left blank

Hi all,

I've checked with the hotel. The draw was done on Monday, and couples who won have already been notified.

And you guessed it right.. I wasn't one of the lucky winners.

Hello,

Has anybody tried Oriental's recommended printer - Lil-art before? How was their service?

I just collected the cards but it seems very difficult if i were to tie the gold string cuz there is 2 folds instead of 1. Any suggestions?

Hi waiting

I just printed my inserts too. I did ask my coordinator about this question and she say its easier to just put a little glue behind to stick the inserts to the cards. Better than the gold strings.

Hi cheryl, can I ask if oriental only has 1 standard slim rectangle shape card? I prefer square ones, but am not sure if they can provide that. Your inserts are silk screen type? Also, oriental provides the gold strings and cards? Will there be ribbons instead? do you know if they provide guest signing book as well? Thanks in advance for your answers. My wedding in March next year but thought to ask abt these first.

Hi, if anyone can answer the above, would really appreciate it too. Thanks!

Yup think their cards are standard shape. Mine is the cream paper inserts, silk ones the wording doesn't stand out at all. Dunno about the gold strings cos I think its difficult to tie a 3 fold card. I will use glue instead.

Hi cheryl, thanks. I just picked up a sample of the wedding card fr oriental. I think the card is nice, however, the shape is really very awkard, cos you can't really fully utilize the space.,you know what I mean? So for the 3 panels, are you having the chinese characters on the 1st panel, and the english invitation on the 2nd + 3rd panel? You are going to glue the entire piece of paper?

Sorry just wanted to check with you. My coordinator's Bethany. Who is yours?

Mine is Bethany. She is okay just a bit rigid at times. What colour did you take?? I took red and black samples.

Yup am gg to put english in 1st and 2nd panel and chinese on 3rd panel from the left. Nope think will oni glue a bit at the fold line.

Hi all, I'm going to solemnise my wedding before the AD lunch. if i book the ballroom, where are some suggested places that Oriental can allow me to go thru solemnisation? It sounds far fetched, but can they can throw in use of garden suite for free? :p

Hi Cheryl,
I agree with you. She is nice, but rigid, we had to try to negotiate for alot of things. I am considering the red and white cards. Red for the older folk guests and white for friends

Do you think you can PM me to have a look at how your template looks like? Would really appreciate it, as I can't picture how the words will look like on the rectangle layout of the card. Thanks much
