I'm deciding between M-Hotel & Holiday Inn Orchard City Centre since they're both the same price... I don't really like M-Hotel's ballroom because of the march-in and the pillars blocking the 4 tables view from behind (banquet suite). Plus points are the dressing room on same level and jacuzzi in bridal suite.

However what's really holding me back is the coordinator, Evangeline. I tried to arrange a site inspection with her and she told me she's only available during weekdays and office hours. So I managed to meet her by taking a half day leave. When I reached the hotel, I called her mobile she didnt pick up until 5-10 mins later then she called me back. A week later I called her to make a tentative booking. She didn't pick up my call when I used my mobile but picked up my call when I used my office phone. She said she wasnt working and would call me back later... but she didn't. It was after a few days that I emailed her regarding this and she replied saying the tentative booking was done. Either she forgot about it, or she just couldn't be bothered. How to trust this kind of coordinator?! *sigh*

chocolatte - Depends on your theme? Ours was the pink theme, quite ok with the flowers and tea lights. The lavender theme will have more stage deco. Anyway, your screen will be down most of the time. I guess should be alright?

Kat - shot glasses, travel tags, gift boxes, handkerchiefs that open up in water, bottle opener, playing cards.

Yingying, Evangeline has been very helpful to my queries through email.. Heard from her recently that their sales dept was rather shorthanded so I think they are all very tighted up.. =)

chocolatte: Besides Evangeline, another wedding co-ordinator is Maria Lam. Our co-ordinator used to be Eugene and somehow he has a changed of posting within the hotel and has since changed to Maria as in-charge for us. So far so good. She has been quite prompt with her replies and informing us 'bout the various items for the wedding. Even when Maria is not around, Evangeline will actually reply for her so I thought overall the service is quite good, in my opinion.

Hi Kat,

they must have alot of coordinators then cause mine wasn't Maria / Evangline / Eugene.

the one my fiance liaise with is very prompt and very helpful too.

chocolatte: Oh. I didn't even know they got another co-ordinator since all along I only know of Evangeline and Eugene, who has been replaced by Maria and Maria is also a catering sales manager. And yes, I got both perks also.

Hi Chocolatte, I don't think she has left M hotel.. But I know she's on leave until 11th August 2011.. How come you will say she has left M hotel? Please don't scare meeeee.. Haha..

Hi all, had a bad impression of M hotel. Recently i emailed the enquiry email for the bridal package, to check the available dates and to make an appointment. They told 3 days to email me the package and ignored my request for the appointment.
I called the lady, Evangeline, and she told me that they don't work weekends and for weekdays, their appointments after 6pm are filled up. So if i wish to talk to a wedding consultant, i have to go down on weekdays before 6pm.
I think i will just eliminate them from my list. I haven't sign up with them and they're so busy. Imagine if i sign up with them, i have to specially take leave just to discuss things.

Hihi, I sent them the email ytd & they replied me today.. kinda surprise.. haha.. anyway at 1st they asked me to contact Evangeline but end up Adrian replied to me & arrange for viewing this coming weekend evening.. think they might changed their working attitude le.. lol

And i called up, till then Adrian replied to me also. Adrian is so much better than evangeline!

the sales catering manager who attend to mine is really good.

anson's ceiling is really too low, you should consider banquet suite if able to.

so long since i visited this thread.. im a M hotel bride Oct 2011 (Anson room).. very pleased with M Hotel..

Evangeline is very prompt and nice lady too.. she will call and confirm everything prior to wedding.. (even thou she seems so buzy everytime , but she will remember)

on the actual day , the floor manager keep hubby and me calm down , as we very nervous and guide us this and that..

i hear from hubby (becoz im upstair makeup) that their banquet manager is very strict to their stuff on the briefing and etc..

all my guest enjoy M hotel and love the food too.. except some of my guest say that their serving is slow , but overall they enjoy it..

sounds like im selling M hotel.. keke.. but really nice place and not regret at all..

have a bliss wedding..

Im also a bride from M Hotel during Christmas Eve.

Everything was good in the hotel, alot good feedback.

But i was disappointed in the carpark, at about 730 all the carpark was already fulll as it was full house that day.

The banquet Manager , cant recall the name, think is Chee Wai if im not wrong, he really great, guide us throught the night.

Those who sign up, hope u gals have a memorable night there.

anyway, we signed up in oct bows but we have yet to receive the contract from evangeline!! really disappointed with her service haiz

Hi Ladies,

I just signed up with M Hotel for Banquet Suite yest during their wedding show. I have some friends had good experience with them. Adrian served us and met Evangeline too she was v busy with other couples. She looked ok & easy-going.
Hope all got your dream venue!

I signed with Anson Room as well, and my wedding is this Dec. May I know whether the lights are kind of dim? This is one of the concerns my future FIL raised when we did site recce.

Michelle, what made you change your decision? I feel the ballroom very swee when we went for the wedding show, had to "ren" not to upgrade to Banquet Suite... lol!

So the coordinator (whom we signed and liaised with) won't be the one in charge of operations on the day itself? There'll be a different person in charge issit?

Hi all BTB, I am shortlisting M hotel. I went down to the hotel for viewing few weeks ago and Evangeline attended to us and she is really nice. We like the ball room and also we find that the price is reasonable but they are only providing us one night stay in the hotel. However we think that it is ok, if we get another nigh we will be even happier but otherwise, 1 night is also ok with us. Only thing is we dont know if the food is nice.If anyone wish to know their current package can PM me. Willing to share. ;p
 
I had my wedding in Jan 2013 in Banquet Suite. It was a blissful one. Because it was lunch, I found it they are quite rigid in negotiation. I guess I got no complaint for the cheaper price compare to dinner.

i love garage sale, your wedding favor is rather cute.. I like the cup.. The other favor is fragrance of love, what is that? Btw, do you need to topup for your favor?
 
hi kitminish, the wedding favors are included in the wedding package :) u can choose 2 different favors. the fragrance of lovw is the perfume traveller botltle.. without perfume la. dunno wat is it called :p

I want to made a tentative booking for the banquet suite but seems like the coordinator is not working on weekend. Have sent him an email on thur till now also no reply. Really doubt their service standard . Anyway can any pls share has any one manage to get lesser min table in this case : ie maybe about 20 tables ? Can 2014 luncheon bride share with me their perks ? Manage to get a 2nd nite stay etc...? Thanks

hi, my WTB and i booked M hotel anson room for our AD. perks were extended from the May 2013 promo to us. 1 of it was free flow beer and red wine from 7pm onwards. Currently for those who booked now and their AD is before 1st jan 2013, u're entitled to $100 off per table.....some how i missed the gd deal boat and on top of that, having my AD in 2013 is too rush.... :(

We were guided by Evangeline regarding the booking and she's quite nice to give us her opinions too.

I went for a dinner wedd at m hotel. Me n my grp of frens are not satisfied with the waiter service. They have done sth silly which amused us.
