My wedding in M hotel Banquet Suite (level 10) has just over. The Comments from all my friends n relative is v positive. The Food is Good! (Better than what we tasted during the food tasting). The Service is Great, they change every plate for all dishes n will very attentive to all my guests request. The Decor is nicely down up in the ballroom, no regrets! . I like to Thanks Evangeline, Thomas and Team for making our wedding a Success!!

leenie: Actually I'm rather curious on the copyright laws. The last that I asked Eugene, he said that we need to pay quite a huge sum to use songs in montage. Then I checked some forums which points to the R.I.P.S website that says a one-time fee of 90 bucks for use of song in the montage. Then there are hotels that allow the couples to use without paying. Am so confused!!! Sighz. I'm currently now looking around for royalty-free music/songs or common-creative license songs to see if any nice ones can be used. This is one solution to not paying the license fee here in Singapore.

Miomio: I went to see de banquet suite on de same day as ur wedding I think! But I went during de lunch time to see. Were u holding wedding lunch or dinner?
Kat: ask ur PG or VG if they do u montage for u n wads their licensing for it. Cos my PG paid for his so he told me I can use any song for it.
for our video highlights too! So no extra charges.

angelis8: 'Cos my PG is a Malaysia so the rule in Singapore doesn't affect them so we already informed her 'bout it. We don't have a must-have song so I guess it's fine as long as she can find a nice song for us to use. But I'm just wondering is M Hotel really strict with the rule since some hotels don't mind.

Hi pinkmouse, the march in for banquet suite is not a L shape.. It's a U shape.. The march in for anson room (at lvl 2) is a L shape.. I tried asking whether they can change the march in to a L shape for banquet suite but my coordinator says it's not possible as their lighting are all programmed already.. My HTB and I just close one eye and make do with that.. My no. of tables is 26.. Was considering M hotel with Amara Singapore and grand copthorne waterfront.. But M hotel won us over with their perks and their nice bridal suite and banquet suite.. Hehe.. Perhaps u can make a trip down to view their banquet suite? =)))

Hello pinkmouse.. When I emailed for quotations in oct 2010, the price per table for waterfront was $100 more expensive than M hotel's.. And I went to the BOWS event in oct 2010 and saw M hotel's perks of free flow beer and red wineeee.. So we just signed with them after visiting their banquet suite and considering over 1 night..
hi gals, i've also signed up with M Hotel for their banquet suite on Level 10. My AD is on 5th March 2011. i will have around 30 tables so i'm not sure if it's gonna be packed. Anyone here had their wedding held with 30 tables?
Checked with Evangeline, she said it will look ok with 30 tables.
My food tasting will most likely be in Jan or Feb. But i will be collecting the wedding cards in Dec for early preparation.

i just had my wedding in anson room! the dinner was super yummy! (according to all my guests feedback, much better food than 5 star hotels). good service. good banquet managers around too. went off without a hitch! so im happy. only 1 small hiccup. supposed to have free breakfast the next day in the bridal suite but they charged us 40 bucks for it. evangeline supposed to find out for me whats going on but no word yet. so please make sure u double super confirm with them not to charge u for breakfast! i was too tired that day to fight with them about it. wanted to go home n sleep. haha

went to m hotel on sunday evening to peek at the banquets venue...saw the banquet suite with about 28 tables was quite ok, but ceiling not high enough. anson room was a L-shape layout which you couldn't see all the guests at one go. i find that some ppl may feel left out.
BUT gd to segregate if you have clusters of friends n family. normal ceiling ht too.

Is the L-Shaped room looked similar to Sheraton?
Sheraton Ballroom also L-Shaped but the stage is at the centre of Letter L so most people are still able to see the stage.
Could you advise me?

yeah the contract supposed to state free breakfast. the dude that brought it also said its included. but the stupid girl at the checkout desk insist its not in the system or computer, so die die must make me pay for it first, n sort it out with evangeline later. imagine im still sleepy n tired, as if will have any energy to fight with them about it.

Anyone has photos of the Anson room and how the layout would be like on the actual wedding banquet? I’m really hoping the photos in the hotel’s website doesn’t do them justice coz the table layout really look squeezed, the stage look really low and small, and the walkway look narrow. I’m feeling abit frustrated coz only Anson room is available on the date I wanted. =(
I’ve contacted M Hotel on Tuesday and my appointment with Evangeline is on the 30th November 2010 which I felt it’s too late and I am afraid that the date I want would be taken by then, however as she’s been fully booked and occupied, she did suggest that I can view the room by myself tomorrow btw 5:30 pm to 6:00 pm which I am unsure if the room would had been set up.
Please send me some photo of Anson room and do enlighten me if there would be any wedding themes for Anson Room since from the threads, it seems like only Banquet Suite had wedding themes...

Samantha: The themes available for the Banquet Suite can be used for Anson Room also. So I think there is no need to worry 'bout the themes.

we tasted the jingdu pork ribs and changed it right away... haha! it tasted like pork ribs dipped in the chee cheong fun sauce... so farni

Just an update, for those who plan to have their Banquet with M-Hotel. These are the additional perks from this fair on top of standard pkg:
- complimentary food tasting (min 25tables & above)

hello gals, i just went for my food tasting last evening. Overall, the food is quite ok, i kinda like the yam paste, not too sweet and the chef had some dried orange skins in it so the taste is quite special...my families are quite happy with the food.

Hi Pink mouse - my wedding is in June. I couldn't meet the min requirement of 25 tables too. So we have to pay for 25 tables but we can consume the unconsumed tables on another day. Hope this helps. Oh ya and they also offer us the option to choose Anson ballroom if we want to take less than 25 tables.
