Happy New Year everyone.

For many of us, it has been a season of feasting over the last few weeks. Now that the parties are over, many of us are looking for ways to get back on track to our health. For years, weight loss has been the top 3 new year resolution. Is this your new year resolution? Here are 3 tips to help you.

Tip #1 : A period of feasting normally include party food that are high in sugar and fat plus overeating at some occasions. The result is weight gain, increased fat storage, bloatedness, indigestion, feeling lethargic and/or low energy. The first thing that we need to do to burn the access fat is to have a focused detox week. This is because if we dont detox properly, our body will cling on to fats instead of releasing them for burning.

Tip #2 : After you have done a focused detox, now your body is able to release the fats for burning. To enhance this effect, we can include spices & herbs (eg ginger, chili, coriander, parsley) and bitter food (like pink grapefruit, bitter gourd, lemon) in our diet daily.

Tip #3 : Include muscle building exercises. Please do not do long duration cardio exercises like running on the treadmill, do HIIT instead. Research has found that HIIT is much more effective in weight loss than long duration cardio exercises. HIIT builds muscles and increase our metabolic rate. When you have more muscles, you can burn more calories even if you are resting or sleeping. Sounds too good to be true... but this is true.

So there you have it, 3 tips to help you get back your health and lose some body weight : )
