I am going Krabi for the first time in Sept/Oct.

Currently I have two hotels in mind:
1) Ao Nang Sunset
2) Best Western Ao Nang Bay Resort

Anyone stayed on either one before?

Also anyone DIY for Krabi? DId you get ur own transport (cab) from airport to Ao Nang or book hotel transport?

Someone advise?

my Fh and i went there in 2003, around the ao-nang area. it's beautiful!! cant rem the hotel name tho... and all the shops the same but must try the cruise to other islands and the beautiful limestone cliffs. get a co. with new skipper. some with sampan like boats not stable. do more research on the internet, which was wat i did. happy holidays!

i did quiet abit of research that's why I let 2 choices of hotel. Don't want to spend too much on hotel as long reasonable and nice enough will do.

The other hotels recommended by forumers here are pretty expensive SGD70 and above (such as Krabi La Paya). So I am not opting for them as I am trying to keep this holiday below $800 for a trip of 3 pax.

So help someone.

one way is to go there n find the backpackers' type of hotel. it's way cheaper, and from the outside looks exotic n nice...
how long u intend to stay there? misc expenditure may cost more than the $800 for 3 pax...

Will not take backpackers' type cos my 3/4yr old son is coming with us.

But currently I think we will probably go for Ao Nang Sunset since we arrive early morning, we will book 1 extra night so that when we arrive, we can check in and have bf. Then rest before going out in the afternoon.

aug i think also monsoon period.
Monsoon is till Oct.
However, alot of pple say depends on luck also...so it might rain every day
The main recommendation pple say is go for Krabi La Playa resort. That's one of the best!

hi
i am going end Sep/early Oct, staying at Alis hotel. It looks nice and well-recommended by my col who stayed in Feb this year. They are having promo package now for low season. I pay approx S$580 for 3N stay at Clubroom-honeymoon suite, include airport transfer, 1 day trip to 4-islands (incl snorkelling equipment) and 1 hr massage. This hotel is not suitable for those with young kids as there's no lift, need to climb stairs!

Now i am trying to find out more about spa and massage.

Hi Lynn,

Thanks for your recommendation too. I will check out Alis hotel too.

Which airline is the promo package tied up with?

Buri Tara is giving a promotion. If u stay for 3 nights, they will throw in a set dinner for 2 & a 1hr massage for 2. This is a promotion by the resort.

Hi Twin Fairy
This promotion is not tied up with any airline. I bought my tiger tickets separately. U just book direct from the hotel by dropping them an email. Off-peak offer ends 31 Oct.
