Hi mayshalws

I've posted my recent experience with JP Chan on http://bliss42.blogspot.com/

Do not expect him to mingle or stick around too much. You and your guests won't have much time to mingle on the actual day anyway!

Look for a JP who will arrive, do what is administratively necessary, and set your mind at ease. For me, that was JP Chan. I hope you will find someone who would do the same for you.

Love,

Hi All,

I had Mr Koh as my JP for my solemnization in Nov'09.

My overall experience with him was very good. He responds very quickly and patiently to all my queries.

During my solemnization, he arrived on time and is willing to wait for me as my ROM location still needs some final touchup. And he created the declaration for us on self-made cards which i feel it is very unique.

Thanks to Mr Koh who provided me and all my relatives and friends with a very smooth solemnization!

hey nikki, yes he does encourage couples to prepare their own vows to make the solemnization even more special. but not to worry if you din prepare any, coz mr koh has one prepared for the couples which you can use too.

I witnessed Mr Koh at my friends' wedding lunch 2 weeks ago. He's got a bit of 'blur blur' face. Probably cos the hotel had some hiccups with the AV system so time was delayed. But overall he looks very fatherly which I feel is quite important if he looks friendly and approachable.

Mr Koh agreed to be my solemnizer and I had informed him that our ceremony has to start at 12pm. He said he could make it and we fixed a date to meet up to discuss the details. During the meetup, he requested for us to push back the ceremony to 12.30pm as he had work on that day and might not make it in time. In the end, he said he really could not make it at 12pm and it was a wasted trip for us for the meetup. Very disappointed given that I had already informed him of the timing beforehand. I engaged another JP named Tan Cheng Soon and I am very happy with the decision made.

Hi just want to know why are u particular about JP? Isnt all the same? All roms go through same procedure right?

Different JPs have different styles. Some may do long speeches, some might preach about religion while some do it short and sweet. It depends on your preferences. There are also stories where some JPs are late or totally forgot about your ceremony or other brides have bad experience with some. Thus it might be helpful to read through reviews to avoid such situations. Some JPs also can do a bilingual solemnization while some do it in one language only.
