Who did u meet up with and which period are u looking at??

If u can afford to wait, I understand from the coordinator that there may be a wedding show in a few months time, but not confirmed yet.

I'm looking at Sep 2011. But from the previous posts here, the perks given at wedding fair do not seem to be very attractive. i met up with Jane. She also mentioned that there'll be a fair in Q1 2010 but not sure when. I'm not sure if i should book now or wait for the fair. Was thinking if i really want my date, den gotta book now.

Hi harvest yellow, I just had my wedding at intercon. From my experience, I think u can forget it. They are extremely inflexible with such things; they always go by the book. Granted that their ballroom is fantastic, their service however leaves much to be desired especially communication between the coordinator and banquet manager! Rather peeved at them...

hi wiggle, can u share with us what u been thru?
i am considering bwt conrad and intercon.
both quite strict with perks but i like intercon svs better somehow.

but after reading thru, i realised the person who i liaise with is not mentioned in the forum. weird..

Hi wiggle, please share us your experience with them as we are also considerin btw intercon and conrad too.
For now, it seems to us that intercon is kinda hard to reach but we like the ballroom.

Hi milktea and Raymond,
i was deliberating between Intercon n Conrad as they both have nice ballrooms too.. end up i chose Conrad cos Intercon is pretty strict with what they can offer.

Hi Chuababy,
thanks for adding. you look great!!!

hi all,
guess the second night is subject to available. i had my wedding in nov 09 and even with just 34 confirmed tables but i got my second night stay thou its not the suite. they offer me a deluxe room and i guess its more than enough for me. the two banquet managers and the technician who served us during our big day were great. they are so helpful people that my hubby and i decided to gave them a AP each when we check out of the hotel on the 3rd day. thou my coordinator was very strict before when we tried to neg for the extra perks but i guess she was just trying not to over promise us. but in the end we had all we wanted. THUMBS UP to all who had helped us in one way or the other!!! Cheers

Hi Wiggie, sorry to hear abt ur not so good experience with Intercon..
For those who are considering Intercon, maybe can try speaking to the coordinator again and see if they can bend some rules for u.. maybe like Charlene, u will get some surprises? just my point of view..

InterCon now has an option of the hotel suites in their latest package, u can choose a one-night stay in a deluxe suite, or a 2 night stay in the smaller shophouse suite.

They have also more inclusions in the package now, as compared to the earlier 2010 package which I first got.

Of course, the catch is that Friday is now considered a weekend in InterCon and prices per table have increased by an amount which is more than the typical year-on-year increase which hotels will general impose.

Hi Raymond and milktea, I haven't sent an official email/letter to them to inform them of our displeasure of their service yet so I do not want to name the coordinator here. If you want to know the details, please do PM me.

But suffice to say that my coordinator wasn't pro-active enough, we sent her emails and she replies them a couple of weeks later (not on her own but after we chased her with more emails).

TOwards the date of our wedding banquet, we sent her confirmations about the dinner seating arrangement etc, but some of the information was not relayed to the banquest manager and hence on the night itself, we had to settle some last minute issues as the banquet manager said he had no idea those changes were made.

Other than the communication part which you need to put a lot of effort into, I guess the ambience was really good. I loved the girls who were helping to pull open the door as they tried to made you feel comfortable/less nervous, the banquet manager did do a good job in coordinating the night's events. So yep, do admit their ballroom is fantastic - all my friends said so. Basically, if you want your dinner at Intercon, you have to be very on the ball with the communication part and precise to the dot with the instructions you want the coordinator to know. Hope the above helps

Good luck to all who are planning for their wedding now! It's going to be tiring, but do hang in there k!

Dear all, I'm also a 2010 Intercon bride..i would like to share my experience with Intercon..

I agree that Intercon is rather inflexible when couples make special requests and it can sometimes be very frustrating as we aren't able to change certain things to our liking. I have resorted to asking my coordinator to quote me a price for certain things that I would like to have during the banquet such as extra ribbons or set-ups to make the ballroom a little more colourful, instead of looking too creamy.

However, one thing I must say is that my coordinator has been very very prompt in her replies and she's the one who has been chasing me to confirm certain things with her so that they can start preparations. It is really something that I appreciate. Initially when we first met, she was rather business-like but nowadays, after numerous emails and calls, I guess we are more comfortable with each other.

Now, im hoping that the price for my requests quoted will not be sky-high! *Keeping my fingers crossed*

Hi Jolene, thks for the info.

Hi Gin, may I know what colour theme you are looking at?
Maybe can share the "extra deco fee" with other Intercon bride who wants the "extras" as well?

Hi Gin Goh,

Who is your coordinator?

My wedding is in March and my coordinator is uncontactable most of the time. Been wanted to ask about small details like time of food tasting, AD's program.

It becomes frustrating for me and my HTB

Hi milktea, I'm considering Timeless classic and Oriental. I would want to have more blue for timeless classic especially for the chairs. Probably to have ribbon to tie behind the chairs or even have blue table cloth for alternate tables. Might also request for red table cloth for the VIP tables so that parents will like it. As for the Oriental, I asked for more gold and lesser red. haha..but HTB don't want to see red at all..so its still pending discussion..

Hi Ling, my coordinator is Jane. She has been very prompt and nice so far.

Thanks Gin..
You mean that u can mix themes??

I tried asking my coordinator if I can do that, she told me that I hv to pay extra...

Im not mixing themes..they are quite sticky abt their themes and stuff..I wanted to add in more blue for Timeless Classic to tie behind the chairs so that it is not white..

I think I will probably buy my own cloth to do the decoration to cut down the costs...if ask hotel I think it will be rather expensive..

Yes Wiggie, there are times when I tried calling a few days, left voice mail, sent email also didn't get any response

Just to share with all, we had our food tasting yesterday. Personally I felt that the food was so-so only. Not as fantastic as what my friends claimed it to be.

Hi Gin,

I am also considering timeless classic. While you are working on your own deco, maybe can share with me what you intend to spend and how much it will cost. Can consider sharing it if I end up choosing the same theme with u.

Hi tingleling, did Steph explain why have to charge extra if you mix the theme? It's not like we will use more table cloths when we mix out theme mah. Sigh..

Hi Gin Goh,

I am taking up timeless classic theme and i like ur idea of tying ribbons behind the chairs! Would you consider sharing the cost? Maybe milktea can join in, den it should be quite worth it...

Hi Gin and 2010btb, I am open to the idea of sharing cost for the additional deco. But can share what are they and how much it would cost?

Anyhow if wan to private talk about this can email me at [email protected]

ps: for other brides who are willing to share your AD photos, please email me your link can? Thks in advanced!!

milktea, she did explain that every theme has the same budget, however different deco and items have different costs.. That's why +/- will incur more $$

Dear Wiggie and ling, its rather sad to hear that u have been having a difficult time with Intercon. Hope that things will turn out well soon so that there is one less thing to worry abt on the big day. Its really an expensive affair to have a banquet and the last thing anyone want is to spend so much and get bad service. Of course, Intercon is not the most expensive, but it's a five-star hotel and we expect better service.

Dear milktea and 2010btb, I have yet to confirm the theme with the hotel and likely to take Timeless classic. My wedding is on 3rd april, how abt u gals? You might have to decide how ribbons u need per table. I have a sample of the ribbon with me and will be buying the cloth soon. The suggested layout is to have 2 per table. After buying the cloth, need to sew the edges so that it will not fray. Not sure how much the entire thing will cost and of course, it will be great if we can share!

my email is [email protected]
i dont log in often so in case u cant find me here, can always drop me an email..

btw, which bridal studio are u gals with?

care to share the dishes that u tried? i might be adding one more dish as my parents felt that eight course is too little..

Hi all,

For those BTB who are taking up the black & pink theme, i have the ribbons for sale, enough for 2 per table.

Do PM me for more info.

Hi Jolene,

Unable to PM you. Would like to ask you for some advice..
- are 2 pcs per table sufficient to inject more colours to the ballroom?
- where did u buy the cloth and also how much u spend for the entire thing?

Would appreciate your kind advice.

Thanks!

Hi Gin,

Yes, definitely enough to brighten up the place. Do refer to my pictures at the top of the thread, i bought the cloth at Arab street & paid $120 for the whole roll. If you dun mind re-using mine, i can sell you @ a low cost. Do feel free to mail me - [email protected]
