Wonder if there is anybody who want to exchange banquet's day at intercon? I am looking at dates from Sep to Dec 07, on either fri or sat. My date is in Nov 07, fri. Please contact me asap if u are interested. Thanks alot!

Wow Rayne, very nice ballroom. I am thinking of a few hotels to my wedding and IC is one of them. But min table is 35? I am looking for around 20 tables only. Do you think they can accomodate or must have min 35? Also, is 12 pax per table right? Sorry for so many questions. Really excited.

Hi Josvin, min table for weekdays is 28, fri and sun 32 and sat is 35.

no harm trying to ask if they can accommodate 20 tables.

Per table is 10 pax

I'm going to sign within the next week. Just finished discussion today and awaiting the contract. My fiancee loves the banquet hall and the 4 themes so the slightly higher price is worth it.

Anyway they are going to change to another 4 themes in 2009. We are booking for Mar 09.

Thanks Rayne, that was fast. Do you mind telling me how much you pay per table? Guess unlikey I can get I.C cos 8 tables diff is pretty much alot..But really love the ballroom. How many ballrooms are there in all for us to choose?

Dinner Fri/Sat - 1088++ or 1188++ (Auspicious day)
Dinner Sun - 948++ or 1048++ (Auspicious day)

Only one ballroom in the hotel and min 32 (sun) or 35 tables (sat and fri)

Hi Josvin, my per table was 848++, excl. the wines we ordered from the hotel. But my pricing was based on 2007 pricing. I just saw UOB Lady's card brochure and now IC has promotion, waiver of 1 bottle of red wine per confirmed table. I think quite a good deal cos definitely can get cheaper wines than those offered by the hotel. The red wine I ordered was $28nett per bottle and we ordered 2 dozens + 8 bottles on standby, all fully consumed.

Generally, I would advise one bottle of red wine per table is enough, no need to order too much unless you've got friends who are heavy wine drinkers.

Wow..they increase their px by $100 for 08/09? Like rayne i signed in 07 under the 07/08 pricing.

Rayne: So u had 1 bottle of wine per table?

The UOB promo is for waiver of corkage for 1 bottle of wine per table. I took up that offer (about 35 tables) plus they gave me another free 20 bottles of wine so I guess I should have enough for night.

Hi reneL, I ordered 2 dozens red wines + 8 bottles on standby but all fully consumed so is about one bottle of red wine per table. They're enough for my guests but probably cos mine was on a sunday and next day working day so nobody really drink until drunk, that's why i am able to control the red wine consumption.

Wow, hobbes187, that's a good deal. should be able to save alot on wines..

my husband and I were pretty lucky cuz we book the package for June 2009 during the BOWS event. When we paid the deposit, we told them we do not have a date in mind yet, so we booked with an open date and called them a wk later to confirm the date. n we manage to book 2009 package at 2008 pricing.

My package has 1 bottle of wine per table cos our AD falls on an auspicious day...so this is one of the additional perks we're getting. Our wedding is on a Sun too so guess like your's our guests won't be drinking too much. ;p

Hi Huilin, their 09 packages are not out yet? So you'll be able to select from the new themes for 09 then.

I signed yesterday...Dinner will be in Mar 09... They had a wedding yesterday evening and the ballroom was set up in the opulent black theme. It looks fantastic and my fiancee liked it very much... Guess the extra cost is worth it...

hi, im really interested to have my wedding at IC, but they nvr reply my emails and returned my calls one.. Must i go dwn to the hotel and speak to the planner personally? And is there any wedding coming up soon? I would like to see the actual theme set up.. The pics aboved is really pretty.. I wanna see the black theme too.. Sounds cool..

When I called, I immediately set an appointment with one of the wedding coordinators.

Why not just set an appointment with them directly and speak to the planner directly?

Will not regret with the lovely ballroom. I'll be selecting the opulent desire theme.

When will they be switching over to their new themes?

I was told the new themes will be for 09-10 weddings... The planner was saying that the opulent black & red theme will probably be replaced by one with black and hot pink. But she stressed that all these will not be confirmed till end of the yr.

Hi all BTBs in Intercon. Can I know what can we neg from the coordinator, be it a weekday or weekend dinner?

As I will be meeting the coordinate soon thus would be glad if any of you can give me some pointers(package that the coordinator provides).

Also, I understand that they will be having a wedding show in last quarter of the year, can I know what are the perks they usually throw in during the wedding shows?

Hi Josvin,

I didn't really nego much when I signed my package..plus intercon doesn't really give in to requests for alot of perks.

Guess some of the things you can look into would be %tage of comlimentary parking coupons, corkage waiver (think UOB has a promo now), helpers day room if needed etc? Usually they may be able to give more perks if you give up some of the stuff they provide..like maybe wedding favours for instance.

Just discuss your needs with your coordinator and see what they can offer. Gd luck!

Josvin, these were what i got. The usual stuff like a few % more parking and wedding cards, day room and setting up of reception area for solemisation. Corkage they wont give unlimited for wine but if you use a UOB card, they can give u 1 free corkage per table.

For non-auspicious date, they only throw in 13 bottles of wine. So I gave up the free $250 Tiff & co vouchers for extra 7 bottles of wine. We have no need for the voucher anyway (though it would have come in useful last yr when I bought my proposal ring for my fiancee at T&C!!)

Hee...can see all the themes from blurz_ger. For me I only have a few pics of 3 of the themes

So have u all decided which theme to take?

For me most likely taking Opulent Desire. Parents have no objections, just hope my granny won't frown upon it. ;p

Hi! I'm probably taking Charming Elegance. But don't know what colour to choose for the roses. Have only seen the setup with white roses. Anyone have photos of CE setup with other colour of roses? Can share?;)

hey bluz_ger, same here...choosing the charming elegance theme... so far my shortlist of possible color combi are as follows:

1)Dark Red Roses only
2)White and Pink
3)White only
4)Pink and Peach
5)Peach and White

Haiz..personally i like the white only or red only but many pple say too plain (white only) or too cheena (red only)

Hey all,

Here's some pics on CE setup with red roses & some other flowers in shades of red. Stands out & adds more colour in contrast with the white tablecloth..but personally I don't like the shade of the ribbons used..too bright red for my liking.

hmm. yea..a bit too dark...

nvm, i am still in the midst of fitting my gowns so once decided, i guess the theme will sorta goes with my evening gown color then. =P

went to Intercon just to chill yesterday at their open space bar, really like the place alot...
also went to the ballroom reception area and find that it is also actually v nice and beautiful too.. will be having a classical band playing before the actual ceremony.

anyone has pictures of their bridal suite? i asked to see yesterday but they are fully occupied.

You really thought of all the colour combinations leh. Hehe. Wondering whether I can request for the pink and purple roses of the Whimsical Magic theme to be used in CE theme. I like the pink and purple combi. ;)

Anyone have any idea if we can choose the wedding favours from other themes?

Both my fiance and I love the Opulent theme. This is one of the main reason we decided on Intercon too! Hee! We brainwashed our parents to accept the black theme, thank God they are ok with it. =)

blurz_ger, I asked Jane before whether we can swap the favours and wedding cards from other themes, she said cannot leh...

unlike woo83fy, I'm going to choose my evening gown to complement the Opulent theme, so that I dun blend into the darkness! =)

Hi Ladies,

I am adding myself to the list too. I have the same thought as blurz_gel, to have pink and purple roses similar to the colours from whimsical magic for the charming elegance theme. I find the original CE abit plain although classic and romantic, hope to have some gentle colours to brighten up the atmosphere. I quite like the colours used in WM but don't fancy the 'twigs'...hehe

Blurz ger, they say cannot but I think some of the ex Intercon brides did manage to mix and match their wedding flavors.

Skinny Jas, you are so lucky to have the Opulent Desire theme, and yeap, you shd not wear or any very dark colors for your gowns..haha.
