Individual plating or self service?

Hi btb, care to share what's your preference?

What's your thoughts.. Pros and cons

Pros.. good for ppl who dunno each other and sit at same table, wont be paiseh to share the same plate of food. cons..food can be cold by the time they serve out coz take time to plate it

I am mulling over this too. But likely to go with individual plating as it will leave room for a centrepiece. Ok with them distributing. Only qualm is how would they distribute the fish? I would presume most people would want to see the whole fish first?

If your wedding is a small-ish one, then I would go with an individual plating. However, if its large to the extent where some of the wait staff may be temp staff, then I would go with self-service, as it would take too long for the food to be distributed and by the time the food reaches your guests, it would be cooled.

In some places, they will present the fish first, then let the guests know that it will be portioned. You can check with your hotel or request that they do that.
