Bride(212)-ezina in simple words,Very talented mua with good attitude.she may not be well known in the indian community as much as other mua mentioned here, simply b'cos she does'nt only does for indians but also for all races.N not just for brides but also for fashion shows, cooperate shoots. apart from my most fav well established senior mua like fatimah mohsin, ezina is one of my choice ;) no doubt she'll go a long way.

and can i know what is the web address of LOOK? i only saw the slideshow in sib.good work, never heard of them? i usually give talented mua's good opportunities for various events.hope to know more about Look.

Hi Sara, U can click on "home' on the blog to see the contacts of the 3 MUA and photographer and Accessories Shop that covered the shoot

I dont think they have a site yet.
Bubbly from Looks, Ahmutha from Vanity Suite and Prema Yellen are the 3 make up artists.
I am in the process of getting more information from them.
I love their work!

hai bride212, i was introduced to this forum frm a friend who told me its mainly a forum for weddings,i joined this forum mainly bcos i needed info abt venues.now it looks more like some advertising forum? looks like you are networking pple to your blogspot & you've created a forum for us? you may sound nice but it will be nicer if this forum was to be used by brides-to-be ONLY,where we can share & discuss our ideas where we will have clearer ideas. i still find it weird where you posted saying a bride asking abt ezina but when i visited YOUR blog, the post was by you & when i asked you, you said the bride actually emailed you which you did'nt mentioned earlier?? as for me, every mua has their own skills , they are talented in their own ways.its not nice to condemn any one of them.we can share ideas abt them..everyone of us has different preference in makeups and the styles we want, so we should actually discuss abt their work and go for their trials & frm there we should be able to make our next move.
for me i've choosen ezina, bcos i have seen her work in person & i am very convinced!

Hi All! I contacted Ahmutha to clarify yr doubts as she was my MUA for my Engagement & Wedding. Vanity Suite is hers. And as she is a freelance MUA, she works with Bubbly Jagpal at LOOKS Bridal as well. The photos in Vanity Suite is taken by the MUA herself. Thus it might not seem that impressive. But take a look at Ahmutha'z contributions in the much-talked about LOOKBOOK! So Sara Ravin Lee, pls go for a trial yourself. THAT might convince n clarify your doubts.

Bride 212: I think you are doing an excellent job by compiling and categorizing the different MUA, PG and VGs on your website. On this forum we have to read the earlier posts by others to gather all this info..n honestly who has the time to sit down n read through earlier posts in detail..u definately make our job a lot more easier..

I would be attending two talks on Sunday at Suntec in conjunction with the Wedding Diary with my hubby to be..tickets can be bought on sistic..any ladies keen for more info on the talks can ask me for details..

Hi All,

I am very new to this forum...Just registered for it today...

Am currently planning for my traditional wedding next year March...And I am trying to start planning now...

Have already booked the place for the wedding and am not looking for the following:

1) Wedding Services for Deco
- There are a couple of bridal services in singapore like KM, Abhirami, Mangaalam, pandora 2morrow..But I have not checked out any. Anyone with recommendations??

2) Bridal Make up
Heard a number of my friends recommend Menaka but not too sure how she is and if her make up is really nice...

I am looking for something that is natural and unique..At the same time, I also need someone who will have nice accessory sets...Like the head set and all..

Am looking forward to many favourable conversations with all of u...

Ciao for now

Hi all....Been busy due to work etc..Hope you babes have some good sources for ya wedding plans.

Bride(212) - Babe, I think u r doin a very BIG favour to all the brides. I agree with AK, its a lil a hassle to be scrolling up n down for the feedback of all sorts of service we need. Let us all agree, we need a place where we can juz click have all the recommended services there. In fact, u have included all the different MUAs, PGS ,Catereing etc in one place which all the brides have mentioned about. Regardless of any services havin gd or bad feedback, they are all there. Thanks A million babe n 3 cheers to your service. Majority of us r indians here(south or north), let's give our support to her service. U see lots of forums by other races. But not an indian one. Kp up the gd job.

I'm deciding on these services which i got fr SporeIndian Blog
.
1) Venue: Fairway Country Club (still deciding), Foo chow Building or Furama Hotel

2) Photographer: Keshav Sishta & pictureperfectsvcs.com

3)Wedding cake & cake favors : perfectfrosting.multiply.com or www.sugarlynice.com/

4)MUA : M considering Bubbly (Looks)- enquired her rates for ROM at 300 plus with additional $50 for juz makeup trial. Amutha (vanitysuite)- her rates are 180 plus with free trial (makeup n Hairdo). I cld not get hold of Sarah yet but heard she cant tie sari. Shereen fr (Saheli)her rates are 300 plus too with no sari tying.

I need someone who do hair, makeup n sari. Cos beside me the bride, I've got my relatives n bridesmaids to be done. I enquired bubby's services, her assistant wil be amutha. She has good comments on her n uses her for most of her clients. But I'm not sure who m going thru.

Thanks AK and bride212.. I will definetely take a look at the sources which you have provided.

I was actually looking ard and came across Mayura catering..Seems like they do deco and catering as well..

You may check out their website www.mayuracatering.com

But the thing is that I have never tried their food. So am not too sure if it is good..Anyone heard abt their food? I am looking at veg food since my wedding is at the temple.

March2010 - I've tried Mayura's caterin a couple of times both veg n non-veg. They are quite good.I still like their cattering. Food n presentation not bad. U can try Gokul for veg too.

AK - thanks for the recommendation of the hotels, Will be lookng into them too. I was suppose to have my ROM n traditional together in Mar 2010 but my in-laws want the ROM n engagement first so m rushin to plan stuff... Venue is gonna be a prob as they are quite fickle minded on the no of pax to be invited etc...haiz stress man

Bride212: Thanks for the link. It really has quite a bit of info but I actually wanted to know if there were any good recommendations from you guys.

I am actually looking for someone who can do very good traditional makeup including tying of sari and the plait.. Let me know if you know someone good..

I have asked some of my frens who got married like last year..and most of them got Menaka...I was wondering if there are any other good MUA around...

Hi Bride212,

I actually went to take a look at Look Book and I really like Bubbly's work.

However, do you know if she does traditional dressing like the plait hairdo and tying sari..

Was reading through and noticed that yours is also a traditional wedding..So, which MUA are u actually choosing?

hi march2010,
WELCOME n CONGRATS....im a jan2010 bride..
happy.gif

im sourcing out for MUA too..Menaka's is quite gd.. she's in this industry for yrs.. she did for my hubby's sis wedding. it was nice.. just like u, im looking for MUA who can tie sari, put the flowers and all.. most arnd are more for modern make-up... Menaka charges $380 for bridal make-up. im not very impressed with Amutha's work so may not consider her.. i heard Susiee is gd too but not sure how much she charges.. there also another lady who did the make-up for my sis-in-law (bro's wife), she charges $380-$400. she's gd too. im still considering who to choose.. its hard...
happy.gif

As for vegetarian food, i like Anandha Bhavan and Komalas. tried both their food and loved it. i took AB for my engagement and tried Kom at a temple wedding. delicious! u can try them...

Hi Saralash,

Thanks so much
happy.gif

Also I want to feature AB and Komalas but have yet to find time to go down to meet them!
I also have so many updates,, will prob do up on Sunday hopefully.

Dear Mar 2010 , with regards to MUA, I will prob take on 2 trials and decide only AFTER the trials. I am a Punjabi so our weddings do not require flowers etc so perhaps I am open to a few options....

I am comfortable with Saheli's style..

Hi all, I'm new here. Am planning for my engagement cum ROM at the end of the year. Am quite confused on venues. Besides the mandapams and OCC are there any other venues that you suggest? Am looking for quite a posh setting but not too keen on hotels. Any recommendations guys?

Hi Saralash, Bride212

Thanks for all the info..Think we seem to be sourcing out for the same things at this point in time. I think both of you have provided me with some great info as a starting point..

Regarding food, I actually went to this wedding where they had food from Komalas and they actually had the staff over there making thosai and appam on the spot..and they also had ice-cream..And the food was great..

I am quite keen on Mayura..but need to taste their food and also find out about their pricing..

Bride212, I have also shortlisted the same caterers as your 4. Hopefully, we can share our thoughts on the food from each place once we find out more or do some food tasting.

Actually, my real worry now is on the MUA cos we really need to make sure we get the MUA early else we might lose out on the good ones..

My shortlisted candidates for now are:

1) Menaka
2) Bubbly
3) Susies
4) Saheli

Anyone knows if Bubbly does traditional, as in the plait and sari tying... cos this is quite impt for me.

Bride212, you were mentioning some other lady who did for your sis-in-law..Who is she? You have her contact?

BTW, where are u updating all this info to, bride212?

I really appreciate the info that you have provided. Brides like me will surely thank u for all this.

Hi brides,
You can consider Spa alangara's Mala for bridal makeup. My sis took her. She has gorgeous jewellery sets, can tie saree, & do the hair with flowers & all. Her hubby does photography. Do check them out. Of coz go for trial 1st.They are located in little india but not sure which lane. Sorry!

Hi mar2010, I enquired with Bubbly earlier this year and she told me that they do everything..like with the Rakodi and the full works that's required for south indian brides. I didn't get to see any pictures though.

Btw, I am thinking of doing a set of indian traditional wear shots with the jewelry etc as well and am abit wary of trusting the chinese bridal studios to do those. I heard Bubbly does those shots as well. Any one have their pics to share with me? I have no worries about Bubbly's makeup but am not too sure if the photographer they use is good.

Hi AK,You were saying in an earlier thread that you had links to pictures and contacts of chinese photgraphers with experience shooting indian weddings? Do you mind providing me with the contacts and links? My email is [email protected] you so much!

For Indian photographers, some of you were mentioning that Nasir was good? Could I have his contact as well pls.

Sara: I think Bubbly quoted 300 plus for ROM if I remember correctly.

I find it so difficult to scroll all arnd the threads to search for info!!

Anyway I tried creating a more organised forum... at www.singaporeindianbrides.com
but have not yet myself gone around to add in the info I have there...

There's a forum for brides 2009 too... Pls post any queries there.. I have more contacts for Henna Artists etc.

I myself am in the process of looking for venues...
Mar2010.. Abt Food, I can tell u that all 4 have good food..

and yes Komala's outdoor chefs are really quite good... Moghul Mahal can also cater for that.

Will be working on more info but really cant help here cause everything is a little disorganised

bridebliss, i went down to Fairway on sunday. alright, the place looks run-down from the outside. but the ballroom is huge... its a rectangular hall n very spacious. the place looks quite gd too. i took some picts of it using my hp. i'll be glad to email u if u give me ur add. the place has simple deco which u might want to add on abit more. if u don care abt the exterior of the building, then u can choose it. i have to leave it to my hubby as i went with my godsis and he didnt see the place yet. he's quite particular so im not sure. but i liked the place.
