Hi, gals! Debbie's back.. yup, i m one of the been-there-done-that brides that one of the gals was talkin' abt.. hehe.. and hi, Raspberriez! the big day is nearing, yea? awesome!!! and i hope u'll share how the pics turned out.. i m sure u looked gorgeous. =)
thanks also for sharing on the aunty josephine who caters food.. nex time we have a makan session, i know who i can call.. hehe.
I've been bz being married, handling a transition at work (still same profession but not in the same location), living with in-laws (and as much as they are nice folks, Home Sweet Home is the way, my future bride frens!) and just completed my search for a new home. Nex search- contractors, renovators, shopping lobangs for home furnishing.. sighz.. one chase after another.. but it is all exciting and fun.
So far, i see a few common queries- Make up wise- traditional one ppl have quoted Menaka i think and as for modern, Shanti is the person however she is often heavily booked so do book early (yup, speaking from experience) but once she works on u, u will c that u have been transformed into the vision of beauty. she is that good.
as for accessories- got choker, earrings set from Little India Arcade, Mr Kumar, tall, smiley Indian man. if i am not wrong, his shop is just beside the sweetmeat shop. called Halifax Trading.
My bangles i purchased from Stylemart cos they happened to offer the best price then for something that looked that outstanding. ($130) Some of the other shops were charging at a 20-30 dollar per piece range, which was plain crazy for a bride on budget like me. the one thing i splurged on and never regretted- my evening gown for dinner reception. It was a sari sewn into a 2-piece by their in-house designer, Kavitha. BUt that too was granted at a good price. Shoes with stones- bot from Hue at 160+ but it kept coming out cos the netting of my can can (white bridal gown) kept getting stuck in it. hehe.. it was realy funny kicking and untangling at the same time with a thousand watt smile. heard robinsons and such are also good places for gem-bedded shoes..
omi.. i hv gone on an info overload. hehe.. ok, shall stop here. see u gals soon! till that, enjoy the preps cos once it's over, u'll miss the euphoria. god bless!
