Hi Ladies and Gents,

My wedding will be sometime next yr; date will be decided coming weekend cause after 7th mth liao. Anyway, me and my FB always like the idea of making our own things, so we were like planning to make our own AB box, guestbook and other decorative stuff.

We have run all over the place in search for a good box to use for AB but the cheapest one we could find is about $17. Being a guy and practical, I think the box is gonna be used just once and although we can still keep for memory sake, it doesn't need to be like made of such good material. We have tried Kalm's, Spotlight, Daiso (haha) already, the boxes were either not big enough or quite expensive. Any suggestions where to get a good and not so expensive box, maybe $10 or less? Or should I just give up and get the expensive box?

Also thinking of making our own guest book, I'm leaving my FB in charge of that cause she likes making scrap book. My gosh, the stuff (scrap book stuff, acid-free) she buys are expensive too haha...

Car Deco, we wanna put tatty teddy in front b'cus it has significance for us, saw the bride and groom bears, cost from $45-80...

Any suggestions or advice is very much appreciated, thank you

I too got a hard time finding the box cos most are too small.I got my box from ikea and cover it with the fabric which I bought from arab street. I use fake flowers that I bought from concourse

For Ang Pow Box can consider using those boxes that the rims of A4 paper comes in. I think it is a good sized box.

I just kapo one from the office. FOC! hehe!

You can get nice heart shaped boxes from Daiso at only $2 each. They are located at various locations - IMM, Plaza Singapura, Vivo City.

i bought the heart-shaped box frm Daiso and realsied tt it is too shallow.. cos if ppl give long red packets then cannot put in aldy. my advice is the A4 paper box.. that is the best.. i haf done mine using tat in the end...

I got my Ang pao box from Ikea. ( $2 ) Material used for wrapping is bought from Concourse. As for the flowers I bought it from the florist and i use my own bears plus some pearls.

I just cut the A4 paper box to a shorter height. Since it is already so big, one box is enough. Plan to use shiny gold/silver paper to wrap it (cos we are thinking of having a gold/silver theme dinner banquet).

...maybe some simple deco will do....after all, most hotels will provide "professional" ang pow boxes...this one, use once, can throw...

Hi Carrine,

Are you taking any banquet packages from hotel or packages from bridal studios? Because almost all hotels will provide complimentary AP Bow and some studios will also lend it to you for free.

I also DIY my own Ang Pow box for ROM. It is easy and save more $. I only spend $2 from the box at Denso, another $10 of flower and riboon from my florist Mrs Teo.

Am intending to do the following. Will buy a big cookie glass container and decorate with ribbons and roses. Then used it as ang pow box. After the event, removed decor and store chocolate chip cookies hahaha
