well, i went to buy the ants poison (bought at supermarkets) s wht some of the gals suggested to me, tried for the first time last nite n when i wake up tis morn.. tht area (where i left the poison) has ants crawling over, whic makes me itch.. yet i cant kill them else there goes my effort to destroy the colony
will let u know in abt few days later or a week later to c if the ant poison really works.. *keeping fingers crossed tht it does*
those ant poison takes time to b effective. once put, when see d ants, dun kill them first. n dun wipe the ant paths. let them go eat d poison n bring bk to the nest, n more ants u will come out n eat. then after abt 1 to 2 weeks. all ants disappeared.
so fast in jz a few hrs? once open the box, do we need to finish d whole box? is it save to put it in kitchen? how to keep the rest of the contains if not a whole box is needed. how long will d ants reappear?
yah, usually within few hours the ants will disappear. don't need to finish the whole box at once, you just need to pour a small amount along the line where the ants are going to and fro... they will pick the bits back to their nest.
the remaining unused amount, i usually seal it up with tape and keep for next time.
i think should be okay to keep in the kitchen, but not with food items of course.
Clean bench tops and cupboards down really well, and then wipe down with a clean damp cloth that has a few drops of essential peppermint oil on it, you may need to apply a few drops of oil a couple of times.
Ants hate the smell of it and it is also environmentally friendly, and safe for humans and children, and no residue powders etc to clean up. Add the big bonus is the kitchen smells fresh and minty.
You know what I discovered last year? Use any of the orange Citrus Cleaners. You can get em in a spray bottle.
Instant knockdown ! Acts as a repellent too, if you keep it up ! I've found that you can even dillute it 50% and it still works instantly.
I'm in San Diego, and this time of the year they come in looking for moisture, usually down my kitchen and bathroom drains.
