Hi thanks all
happy.gif

Well the glitch was that our express highlights got some error when it was played. But it worked fine during our rehearsal so we deduced it is Murphy's Law lor. The mgr was very apologetic abt it. Still we didnt let that affect us as ultimately it is our special day and regardless of any hiccups, we feel we are still blessed coz we got our families and great pals who helped us so much that day. And the Crystal theme was really beautiful. =) Ours was the bubbles walk in, and the stage was full of bubbles when we walked in!! Very romantic. They also have rose petals, so rem to ask for it b4hand!! I didnt know and went to buy so dont waste your $$ heee.

So far for food comments, I only heard that the portion esp the fish was nice and big. Service wise, average. But of coz I have no complaints abt the VIP table service

Hi..

Regarding the Bubbles machines, I have call up and check. They say they have two bubbles machines.. so no worry if have two wedding dinner on the same days with different ballrooms ...

Hi glad,

Did u heard any comment about the sharkfin ?

Cos after my sister wedding, we heard that it is real lousy for the sharkfin... a guest found a big lump of corn flour starch in it and some say that they the shark fin amount is very pathetic ...

but i am siting at the VIP table, the protion is good for the sharkfin, so i think usually VIP table get better service.

How is the sound system after the change ???

Anyway, congrats !!

Hi dearris, thanks

I didnt hear any comments abt the sharksfin, but the portion for my VIP table was gd and the sharks fin amount is quite big, as they will show you before they serve you.
The sound system is ok..my march in songs were fine.
To all the brides who are having their wedding at HIPV soon, all the best!! =)

Hi princess momo,
I think the set up was similar :p Actually I didnt even notice much the table decor hee. But my sis said that the overall feeling is quite classy
happy.gif

His jesdreamz...hmm mabbe can check out the pool though I did not go there during the 2 nites stay. I think the bridal suite is average, so might not be so nice...oh I think the big chandelier by the staircase is quite a nice spot too

My 2 cents..

Glad: thanks for your reviews...looking forward to your pics. Do share ok?

dearris: during my food tasting, they also showed us the sharksfin before pouring into the soup. I hope it'll be the case during the banquet for all the tables, not just the VIP.

Hi Gals,

Anyone want to get corset from triumph ? Went to the triumph counter today to try their corset today. Each is $64.90. But they are having sales now and it is going to end soon.

They are having promotion of buying 3 get 1 Free.

If there is 4 of us buying together and divide out, each will only cost less than $49 !

Me and 2 Sg Brides are interested to buy so now we are looking for One more person to buy together and enjoy the saving.

Any gals whom is interested can email me [email protected]

Hi, was reading through this thread and realised the concern of the lower-ceiling part of the ballroom. I am also researching for the venue and 1 of the choice is HIPV.

My total tables are approximately around 35, will this no. actually overlap to the lower ceiling part?

Can anyone share the pix of lower ceiling part of the ballroom if you do have?

Thankie....

Hi,

I am new to this forum. Have decided to hold my wedding banquet at HIPV in Nov 2008 considering the positive feedback it had received in this forum. Will be looking at 30 tables +/-. Though the AD is still sometime away, we have been told to place a deposit asap as someone is interested in having their banquet there on the same day. I have some questions. How much is the usual deposit? What will be stipulated in the contract? Does it include the confirmaton of the numbers of tables and minor details like the standard perks? Is it normal that we commit ourself contractually though our AD is almost a year & a half away? Really appreciate it if someone can clarify these niggling doubts I have. Thks.

Auqarberry : Not sure if HIPV have changed their deposit amt but it used to be $2,500. Contract will have all the stuff like the perks, min. guarantee tables, etc... Actually its all up to u if u want to commit yourself contractually. I also signed up with HIPV ard 1.5yrs before my AD.. Coz the earlier u sign, the more likely u can avoid the price hike that hotels have every year. But before u sign up, u should look at other hotels that u shortlisted too.. To ensure u dont regret ur choice later on.. Hope that helps!

Hi Xinglin,
35 tables will overlap to the lower ceiling. In fact I have 25 tables and it's already spilled over to the lower side. Understand that the high side of the ballroom can hold abt 16-18 tables, so the rest will be along the partion and at the lower ceiling area. Hee..hope you are not confused. Maybe you can make an appmt to view the ballrm and you will understand what I mean :p

Aquaberry, mine was the same as jesdreamz. Paid $2,500. And perks all listed in the contract. I signed the contract 1 yr 2 mths b4 AD. We viewed abt 8 hotels before choosing HIPV. I think it's quite common to commit earlier on, so that once you fix the hotel venue, you can move on to other wedding stuff

Hope it helps!

HI glad,

Thanks for replying.
So meaning the tables in the lower ceiling part are totally blocked? hmmm.... ya, will arrange to go view the venue.

Anyway, bestest blessing to you and your hubby ya! Congrats!

No prob. Not every table is blocked. Our coordinator gave us a table plan and showed us which few tables would be blocked.
Hee uploaded this photo of the stage - can see the bubbles!! Like some disney cartoon.. hee

Hi gals, the pic is nice. From the forum, it seems that HIPV is a good choice for wedding dinner.

Any coordinator to recommend and what are the things we can bargain and how's the food?

Bubblepearl, this pix is taken by my friend haaa...For now, I dont have the rest of the banquet photos which feature the ballroom (I think that is what most of you are interested rite!) to show yet. Once I receive the soft copies, will let you gals know. =)

I really don't have regrets signing up with HIPV.

Auqarberry: I also signed up slightly more than a year before my AD with HIPV. Like the rest, the deposit is $2,500 too. One thing great is that the price (when i signed) is nett so the GST hike won't be affecting me.

xinglin: If you have more than 16 tables, it will definitely spill over to the part with the lower ceiling. Don't worry...not every table will be blocked. Only some seats that are along the pillars.

ham ham: How did your food tasting go?

Any 070707 BTB here? If yes, then congrats and all the best for tomorrow.

Pris and ladies,

the following are my dishes for food tasting:

1. Cold Dish Combination (Suckling pig, Braised Nanjing Duck, Prawn Salad, Pacific Clam & Jellyfish in Spicy Sauce)Suckling Pig is replaced by salted egg roll for food tasting. We changed the pacific clam to japanese octupus on actual day. Very nice taste

2. Shark's Fin Soup with Crab Meat and Conpoy- portion very big, each person 2 bowls, a lot of crab meat and shark fin.

3. Smoked Duck in Camphor Wood and Tea Leaves- unique and duck very thick. My families all like it

4. Steamed Garoupa in Superior Soya Sauce - Very fresh and tasty

5. Braised Sliced Abalone and Mushrooms with Lettuce - Nice and abalone a lot

6. Stir Fried Prawns with Apply Mayonnaise - Prawn big, fresh and a lot, unique and refreshing

7. Yam Basket with Chicken, Cashew Nuts and Mixed Vegetables - the yam very nice, chicken soft and tasty

8. Braised Ee-fu Noodles and Crabmeat and Chives - Crab meat a lot, nice taste

9. Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts 'Teochew Style' - a lot of gingko nuts, coconut serve separately very good for the arrangement.

glad, thanks for your floor plan. Hmm, i'm now thinking whether what will be the max no. of tables crystal ballroom can hold. From your floor plan with 28 tables like already filled the room wor. Kinda worry cos i might have approximate 35 tables

Pris, when is your AD?

ham ham, seems like your food tasting review not bad ya!

Hmm, any banquet manager/in-charge is recommended for HIPV?

Hi Jesdreamz & Pris,

Thks for replying. Ya the deposit amt that Vasanthi requested was indeed 2.5K. The price per table is SGD788 nett with all the standard perks. So the contract will be signed on the same day I pay the deposit? I'm asking cos we actually only have a rough calculation that we will require 30 +/- tables, but can't know for sure like the exact no. of tables yet.

I think i will really need to go through with my BF on the exact number of tables in detail b4 I can commit contractually.

Hi MissJun & Glad,

My AD is now fixed on 15 Nov 08. Actually, I had intended to look ard for more posible venues b4 we finaised our decision. I had 2 ideal dates, one in sep 08 & the other being 15 nov 08, thinking we had ample time to look ard. But we were shocked during our 1st visit in Apr 07 to HIPV to learn that the date in Sep 08 had been booked!! Thats when we knew that HIPV was quite popular within our budget range. I had a chance to view the ballroom setup (crystal theme about 30 tables) during our visit as there was a wedding then & I really like the concept so we blocked our 2nd ideal date. I'm quite impressed with the HIPV's crystal theme setup & the competitive pricing. So we decided that we will confirmed our booking with HIPV. But I'm really surprised that HIPV's bookings are already booked 1 to 1.75 yrs ahead. Did not have enuf time really to look at more hotels but i doubt there are many within our preferred budget of 700 to 800 price range and are quoted in nett. In addition, I think it will be pretty tough to look for a venue that is available on our preferred date.

HI Jesdreamz,

Sorry that i did not read your message earlier.
I have just found 3 more brides to bought with me. But if i have more enquiry, i will try to link you all together to enjoy the offer. Actually at below 49 for triumph corset is cheap.

Hi hamham,

Glad to hear that your food tasting is good. Just need to remind them that their servicing for the actual dinner need to be as good !
happy.gif

Hi Aquaberry

I also book n paid 2.5k for deposit 1.5years ahead. Another choice for below $800 think is Furama Riverfront, that time i am considering between Furama Riverfront & HIPV. FR have nicer ballroom while HIPV hv better location. End up with HIPV cos that time hv wedding show Promotion.
happy.gif

Remember to bargain for more freebies like extra nite stay and more more wavier of wine corkage.
My sister dinner at HIPV have about 33table already look quite cramp.... so anything more than 35 is not adviseable thought they say can take up to 40 tables. I think ideally for below 30 tables will be better

aquarberry

New Member
Hi dearris,

Ya I agreed that anywhere above 30 tables would probably be too cramp. Think the portion of the ballroom with the lower ceiling might be one of my main worry cos if i remembered correctly, there are 2 or 3 big pillars that may block the view of the stage. But the main thing that really moved me is the straight aisle to the stage from the main door with the high ceiling.

My bf only told me that he is more concerned about beer, red wine & hard liquor. I dun knw about corkage cos I think on the 1st bottle it will be waived as per std perks. We may consider ordering from HIPV if its full waiver. but I will definitely ask for 1 free nite stay for my BF's friends who will be the 'helpers'. I think the standard perks only allow free usage of a room from 3pm to 7pm and I dun feel good wif that, considering they will be the ones taking most of the "drinks attacks" on behalf of my BF. So i'm keeping my fingers X... juz hope can get the best that are available.

Hi Glad,

the bubbles creates a nice ambience for match in.
The bubbles machines are situated at entrance and on stage? I'm sure that the kids will like it..

Hi HamHam,

Thanks for the review on the food tasting.

nt259: You need to check with them. For my AD PG, he specifically told us no need to leave him a seat for the banquet.

ham ham: Glad you enjoyed your food tasting. My fave dish was the prawns with apple mayo!

Auqarberry: Don't worry. When i signed my contract with HIPV, there was no confirm number of tables. It just stated minimum 25 tables. In fact, nearer to the wedding, your coordinator will call you to confirm the ROUGH number of tables. This is to facilitate the table planning. I'm going to have around 32 tables.

xinglin: My AD is 29 July! It's just 3 more weeks!!! Am feeling more & more excited.

jesdreamz

Me also interested to know if the bubbles machine is situated where.. Coz if at the front, then when during march-in when they open door, there will be no bubbles??

shi40lin

Pris, your AD is really nearing!! So you've got 30 tables + 2 reserve? or?

I think i'll be having 32-35 tables. Wonder will it be very crampy.

So are you going for bubbles march in? Hmm, ya wonder how will the bubble march in be like cos from glad's pix was like in the front part at the stage ya...

Anyway wish you have a memorable and beautiful AD!!! Do update us after your AD!

Hi auqarberry,

You may consider Hoilday Inn Atrium if you need more tables and moreover their package is much attractive than HIPV. Crystal ballroom in Park View is rather small. I attended a fren's wedding at HIPV with total tables of 28, i already feel it quite cramp.

Dear all,

I am currently in the midst of preparing wedding invitations and would appreciate if any of you could share with me the template. My email address is "[email protected]".

I am a HIPV bride too. Am clueless about the chinese name of HIPV.

Hi princess momo, jesdreamz, xinglin

Opps seriously i didnt notice where the bubble machine is that day haha but I think that the machine should be stationed near the stage. During the march in, I put those bubble bottles on tables for guests to blow and petals to throw. And coz there is dry ice so the 'march in' is already quite elaborate.
happy.gif
Mabbe u all could confirm with your coordinator on the location of the bubble gun which u want specifically! :p

Hi finfin, not sure if I still have my template. If I find it, will send to you. Are you printing from T Dragon?? Coz they will have the chinese template everything swee swee so no need to worry abt the words and stuff. If not, your coordinator should be able to provide you with the name too.

Celine08, hope you get the date you want!

NT259, I didnt have any seat for my AD PG or VG either.

Pris, hee you must be excited now..all the minor minor details to settle! Have fun!

Glad, thanks for your replies.. I was thinking of putting bubbles bottles on the tables along the aisle for the guests to blow during march-in.. But is it messy & are the bubbles produced by guests blowing enough for the march-in??

jesdreamz

Member
By the way, my package comes with the helper day room too. Has anyone tried asking for an extra helper dayroom before? Coz my xiongdis n jiemeis will be following me to the hotel straight to rest & my jiemeis dont want to rest in the same room as the xiongdis coz they still need to change n makeup etc in their room & they feel rather "paisei" with the guys ard..

Hi glad,

Thanks. M not printing from T Dragon. My fren's a printer so m tinking of giving her biz but in her artwork she din indicate the hotel in chinese wordings. I tried to get from Adeline but no reply. Used to find Adeline (HIPV) ok but now kinda of view her differently. Not very helpful (maybe bcos i din give them biz for food tasting).Mine is a lunch so no free food tasting.

garfield_glad

Hi jesdreamz,

Don't think it is messy and I think it enough
happy.gif
The guests have a fun time esp if there are kids. But I think the trick for a grand march in, is to station people or friends along the aisle whom you know will be very enthusiastic for you! That was what I did so the march in was really exciting and full of claps...and I station some relatives to the lower ceiling side (so bad hee but no choice) coz I know they are not the kind who are excited.
Btw, I tried to ask for overnight dayroom but wasnt able to get it :p Hopefully u hv better luck if you just need it between 3-7pm.

Hi finfin
Don't be too upset, mabbe she is just busy! Can call and remind her. Anyway I sent you the chinese portion. Pls see if that helps!

Hi All,

I have signed the package with HIPV Crystal ballroom during the wedding show. Initially, my husband and I were choosing between Novotel n HIPV. In the end we decided to take HIPV because of their perks.
After signing, we were so worried coz there is alot of bad comments in other forum. But after looking thru the comments here... I feel so relieved now.. afterall it is very subjective.

Now I am worried abt the pillars blocking the guest view... Is a L-Shape March-in a better view for the guests to see the bride & groom??

HIPV Chinese name is å‡æ—¥å›æ™¯å¤§é…’店 (jia ri yuan jing da jiu dian)
I know this from TDragon, the invitation card shop attached with HIPV.
... beside... i misunderstand ur previous message as looking for wedding PREPARATION template instead of wedding INVITATION CARD template.. hahah.. ok ok.. will send the template to u in 3rd email.

xinglin (shi40lin)
The bubble machine is placed on the side of the Stage (it’s a small tiny machine). It will be on during your 1st & 2nd March-in to the stage
I know tis from HIPV coordinator.
