hee.. Huiz/Stacy, most asian ladies have the same prob. We just have to add paddings and taping to create 'that' look.
happy.gif

Huiz, I was actually talking about the hair accessories lor. Flowers can exude a charming nv ren wei in you.
BTW, you can get those seamless undies. It will hide the VPL and create a smoother flow in your EG and CS.

Li Ann, that's a great idea! I had actually drafted out an email invite, now I can make use of this already.

Hi Sherrie,

Thanks!

I think I still need to get the ribbon reorganised ah....

Hey ah mais,

I have an idea to sabo the groom on the AD to share with u. Get a red thread... and I mean those sewing thread and not ribbon to tie on the grille (if u stay in HDB). The groom have to die die untie the knot before he can come it... hiak hiak hiak. I got this idea from an AD photo I saw but the jie meis use ribbon... But I am thinking a sewing thread would be better.

wa huiz...very poison...wait the xiong di too anxious tore it open straight away...

My jie meis even more poison. They thought of this idea that they will torture me instead. Make me do starjump until my hubby heartache. Then he will give angbao until my jie meis satisfied and make me stop.

And best. My mum actually finds this idea very innovative and kinda support it. *shake head*

huiz

New Member
haha Li Ann, I have further "improvised" the idea. Tie a few more thread on the grille. If tear open then there's still another one to untie before he can come in. If guai2 untie the knot within the time limit then those bottom ones can be cut open for them.

Aiyo, your friends lagi more poison leh. U wear till so nice nice how to do jumps??

Li ann - ah yo..ur jiemeis so jialat leh..with the heavy gown + nice hairdo + makeup..how to star jump? Ur mummy also very cute leh!

================================================
A man checked into a hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally typed a wrong e-mail address, and without realizing his error, he sent the e-mail.

Meanwhile....Somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned from her husband's funeral. The widow decided to check her e-mail, expecting condolence messages from relatives and friends.

After reading the first message, she fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Reached
Date: 16 May 2004

I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here, and we are allowed to send e-mails to loved ones I've just reached and have been checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing you TOMORROW!

Your loving Hubby

morning ah mais

i am finally back in the office. last day at the motor show for me. can finally sit down and rest my feet. just gulped a bottle of chicken essence this morning.

can i check something with your gals? is the VIP table considered as part of the number of tables that my hubby gives to my family? or exclusive? trying to get that right..

huiz

New Member
Suzie, I don't think it should be counted leh. I suppose both families are sitting at the same table right?

I have a qn too. U know the tea set right? Do we need to buy 2 sets, one for the guys side and one for the girl's side or buy one then bring it back and forth? My mum was talking to my aunt from KL last night and apparently she told her its the latter! Aiyo me so confused man.

ivied

huh sherrie... According to what I understand, its included. Coz traditionally, the banquet is hosted by the groom's family, the bride's family is considered as guests.
Its best that u check with your mama, that when she mentioned about the required number of tables, does she count the bride's VIP table.

Huiz, the bride's family are to buy one set of tea set only. During GDL, the bride will give that tea set to the groom's family as JZ. The groom normally use the set being given by his mama's family when his parents got married.

huiz

Wa ivied, u know a lot about the customs
happy.gif
But hor, if the bride give the set to the groom's family, does it mean that this extra set will not be used since the groom will be using the one his parents used?

ivied

New Member
err.. no lar, I just read up on the customs to understand further. I keep hearing different versions that I gave up.

opps! I type wrongly. The bride's family gave the set that she bought to the groom's family. The groom shall use this set during tea ceremony.
The bride's side shall use the one being given by her mama to her papa when they married.

ivied

so in future, when your daughter get married, she will use the set given by u to her papa when she got married. This is how it goes.

orrr icic... ya i get a btr pic now

my mum refused to use the set she used last time coz her cousin who's fr Msia used our old flat as her "niang jia" when she married a Sgrean many years ago. she used my mum's tea set. the cousin passed away from cancer this June, so my mum thought its not very nice to use that lor.

Huiz, i already told you on MSN how gorgeous your gowns are. I love your CS, very sexy!

I think the suggestion of putting a flower in your hair is a great one! Somehow flower in hair + CS always looks very feminine yet sensual.

Charlene, welcome!

When's your big day? Care to post your BS, PG/VG, hotel etc?

it's been a while since i come into this thread too, coz i'm back at work, and one mountain load of work was there waiting for me. glad now that can slow down the pace again. hvnt caught a good sleep for almost more than a week. *tired* my sleeping hrs are so haywired becoz of tight schedule now that i wake up at unearthly hours and i cant get back to sleep. normally by 5am will wake up anyway. how to get back to normal?

me tdy went for fitting of my ROM gown. haiz, seems like i didnt lose much weight in time. haiz, nvm. but i was so happy to see the pretty dress and so reluctant to take it off after fitting. after wednesday see if i can post some pictures online.

Hi Charlene, welcome welcome.

janf, that's a nice corsage.
happy.gif
so u will be making for all the JMs? I was thinking if pink coloured satin ribbon to match the red rose will be better?

Hi Li Ann, ya ya, I agree. Mums sometimes are more fussy than us brides. My mum and FMIL decided to make one. My FMIL practically flipped thru the whole collections of bridal magazines before she decided the design.
What about Tangs, Hue and JWEST?

Hi mosburger and Pris, welcome back.
happy.gif
Its school holidays now, can finally rest your feet and relax.
happy.gif

mos - How's your hand now? Congrats on your upcoming ROM.

pris - Have you decided on your ROM date?

I finally bought my bed on Sat. phew! One load off my mind.

Morning ah mais,

Welcome back Pris and Mos.... got time must come back here frequently okie?

Li Ann, I bought my tea set from Yue Hwa @ Chinatown. It is surprisingly cheaper than one market shop behind Chinatown Point that I also checked out. I had posted the pic here before, but in case u had missed it, here's it again....

428194.jpg

There's 2 designs at Yue Hwa. The other is the dragon and pheonix kind that u are looking for. Comes in 2 sizes too.

Li Ann, perhaps u could try Tangs for shoes? or Daniel Yam too. Very nice and not too costly.

Janf, the corsage is sooo sweet! Great colour combi too!

I just hope my BS guy can make the neccessary alterations to my gowns and I will "rest" in peace for the next few months and busy myself with other things.... haha!

janf

New Member
ivied - i tried using pink against the red roses but looks odd so bot the silvery white ribbons instead. the lady oso said its best combo so i trusted her.. haha.

yup, me made 4corsages for the 4JMs (incl myself)..

huiz - i went arab st on sat to buy the raw materials.. wah, i looked at all the nice ribbons, feel like buying all home!!

huiz

New Member
Ya man, janf, the ribbons there all v v swee right? Whenever I go there, I just don't want to come out man. But one thing is for sure, the stuff there are much cheaper than if we buy by the meter at other small craft shops.

janf

New Member
huiz - i wanted to buy by the meter but the towkay said they only sell the whole roll. anw, he oso said tat its more worth to buy by roll coz they will still charge more exp if we were to buy by meter.. so i bot the whole roll lor! and still alot left, duno wat to do wif it.. nvm, see other day got who else getting married then i can make the corsages again..

saw all the xmas gold/silver ribbons as well.. i was literally wow-ing away!!!

huiz

New Member
Ya, they are a wholesaler so they only sell by the roll. U can keep the remaining and make some simple deco to add on to birthday gifts wrappings. I bought this roll of organza ribbon with some gold trimmings for my DIY wedding cards for $6.50. Found that this other small craft shop is selling the same thing at $9.50! So next time we know where to go to get beautiful and economical ribbons eh? *winks*

huiz...thanks!! We passed by yue hwa yesterday not knowing about the teasets...sigh...need to go back there again... my mum bought from beauty world this teaset of a pair of "yuanyang" duck...thinking it is quite auspicious...but my MIL wanted dragon and phoenix??!! oops...so have to buy another set again...

Anyone want the yuan yang duck set??

Heehee Li Ann, I suppose your MIL is waiting eagerly for u and your bo lao to bear her long feng grandkids soon!

Oh yah, ah mais.... I have one silly question to ask.

Does anyone actually iron or do something to get rid of the creases on the WG and EG on the PS or AD? I was thinking that some material would surely appear crumpled after carrying around, so how to make it look nice again? Is the hotel willing to lend a standing steam iron?

ivied

New Member
hee.. janf, there are a couple of us here getting married soon.... :p

err Huiz, I dunno leh. Never thought of this leh. Perhaps u can post this ques to your BS?

huiz

New Member
This question just occured to me this morning. I was thinking that those having duchess satin and organza WG might face this prob. Lace/tulle i think is still ok. And my EG is made of soft satin so I think could be prone to creases too. Yah, better check out with the BS guy.

janf

New Member
ivied - i can make for u the corsages but my KangHoo 1/2past6 kind lah.. unlike huiz can make so nice knitted corsages.. whoeva be her JM so lucky.. keke.
