Any idea if things like the wedding themes, ang pow box and guestbook will be changed after the renovations?

How does the current guestbook and ang pow box look like?

the themes may change according to what Christopher told me last time but this can only be confirmed by the end of the year he said...

Hi weixinag 65, I am wanting to enquire on wedding dinner as my colleague's friend had less than 20 tables but then again, she had hers 1.5 years ago. So for dinner, definitely need 30 tables mininum?

Hi Julia,

I had enquired before and it seemed that 22 tables is still ok, but without the promotion. If it's with the promotion, must be min. 25 tables.

I had asked a few months back this year. =)

hi bedazzle_me and ojh,

drizzles: wow.. that's alot.. in fact, when i looked at BTB Jie & Ning, they opted for wasabi prawns.. the prawns were de-shelled and had 20 prawns in total...

for drunken prawns, if its like 30 prawns in total.. that would be a steal!

another menu i saw the actual photos of the butter prawns (still with the shells on), it was only 10 prawns in total...

Seems like it will be drunken prawns / wasabi prawns... can't imagine guests having just 1 prawn each.. though i suspect for the butter prawns, it might have been tiger prawns.. still, its not too nice to have just 1 each..

Thanks.

drizzles: when is your big day... for me, most likely i will have the food tasting in oct / nov...

can't wait to see your photos for the AD pertaining to the food and new decorations.. would ur big day be in time for the decorations?

dizzles54> Thanks. so i can be there eating without Christ. Ok good, den i will conti with wkend food tasting.

Weixiang> I opt for wasabi prawns, i ate that in year 2008 (Sis-in-law's wedding at GPCH too) n i fall in love with it too. Big prawns.

weixiang: My AD is 12 Sept... counting down oredi. Seems 101 things undone! Hopefully they will get the reno done by then cos heard frm william previously that it will done be after the lunar 7th mth...Veri kanjiong oredi!!
Yap the serving of the drunken prawns is reali big. Initially I wanted to opt for the butter prawns (cos of the gd review) but I have some tables having 11 guests... Afraid even I top up the difference for 11 prawns, some guests might not get to eat it. Well u will nv noe, when everything is in a frenzy during banquet, the servers might not noe who to serve to, they jus pick up the food n go. Betta be safe... N erm, 1 prawn each to a guest? I tink it sounds a little stingy. Heee...

memorablechocolate: Yap go ahead wif the weekend fd-tasting! Cos how to gather everyone during a wk dae? Hmmm... I will meet up wif Chris agn, 3 wks prior the AD to discuss the details!
Btw are u the one who is having wedding luncheon as well? So how, yr schedule for the dae ok oredi? Or still gotta rush here n there?

Oh I will be having tea-ceromony in the hotel, can anyone advise if they provide tea-pot n tea / and where can we do the tea-ceromony? Tks in advance!

drizzles54> Nope, not me, mine is only a banquet dinner on a Sunday. Haha. I will be having my tea-ceremony at home. Both hubby n i stay nearby, so no prob, will cater food to both side.

Last time william told me that they will try to get the tea pot for the bride n groom as a gift but still ponding for approval. So hope they give, den i don't have to buy. But have to collect it early cuz Guo Da Li have to use, is part of the retrun gifts for Bride to groom.

Hi everyone! I am officially a GPCH BTB. Just did my booking today! Fingers-crossed now, hoping that the ballroom will look good after the reno.

Ojh, like I said before... I think the Governor suite looks bad, out from a horror movie setting. So I will definitely ask NOT to have it. Maybe, we can all suggest to them to renovate the suites too :p

wen~: Yes..they 'older' compared to a few others. I've heard that the General Manager has changed just recently. Hopefully, the suites can be renovated too.

more particularly about cleanliness cos it's only 1 night stay (for me) but need to have some good rest ma.. =) reserving the better hotel stays in honeymoon..hee..

I guess there will be couples that like the colonial feel for Governor room. Its just my personal opinion :p
But I am sure we won't mind some renovations to the suites.

And yes, I am a confirmed GPCH BTB too!!! Just signed up & am entitled to the perks. Must say that I am very happy with the package as well as my coordinator Yibin. He comes across as a nice guy & in our meetings he has never been pushy / arrogant unlike some other coordinators I've met. Will update more about my preparations in time to come!

Hi Cherie,

I'm one of those who signed up for the Park gold card! The perks are really quite good...
And I can also use the card to book rooms for some of my overseas guests, as well as get discounts when I dine at any of their restaurants.

If you are intending to hold your wedding at GPCH, it's really quite a good deal to sign up for the card. You will still save money despite having to pay for the membership.

Hihi Chootobe,

1 of the perks is additional barrel of beer or 12bottles of wine right? Pls correct me if i am wrong. thanks!

I have just confirm my food-tasting to be held next month (Sept).

My food-tasting menu:
1. Suckling Pig Combination
2. Four treasure seafood Soup (no shark's fin)
3. Stir-fried Scallops, Fresh Mushroom and Broccoli with XO Sauce
4. Deep Fried Prawns in Wasabi Sauce topped with Sesame Seeds
5. Hong Kong-Style Steamed Red Garoupa
6. Roast Crispy Whole Chicken topped with Fragrant Minced Garlic
7. Lotus Leaf Rice with Conpoy
8. Chilled Honeydew Sago

My package was sign up last year(2009), wedding held on 2010. Wasabi prawn wasn't in the new dishes but I just love it when I attend my sis-in-law's wedding (2008). Can mix and match the old and new dishes. =)
