Blur_btb: first of all, congratulations! Really happy to hear that everything went well for your wedding at GPCH. Gives me a lot more confidence to sign up with them. Nope, it wasn't me that you saw. I went on a weekday, was going to take pictures on Saturday as my coordinator told me there's a wedding (that was YOUR wedding!) but was too busy in the end so didnt go.

so....

Memorablechocolate: Thanks for uploading all the pictures! Very detailed! Oh, and thanks for the info about the band! Looks reasonable! Maybe will get one. My wedding date is in May 2011 (they don't have the dates that I want in Mar.. boo... otherwise it would be ideal.) So, no pictures to upload for now. But I'm attending a wedding in Oct 2010 (right after the renovation so may be able to post pictures then!)

Lowpyng: there's a wedding show / exhibition coming up in August! My coordinator told me!! Not as many perks as the last wedding show but there will be perks~

Oh I just got the info from GPCH regarding the perks. Hmmm... not as many as the last wedding show. But definitely not something to shout about really. Seems like some perks that we could have negotiated with our coordinator anyway or some extra perks that we would have gotten if we paid with certain credit cards that have promotions.. *disappointed*

chootobe... sad to say, most of the dates are filled up for weekends in 2010/2011.. hence, its understandable that there is no need for them to have aggressive promotions..

you can also try other places..

The current promo is already quite attractive, don't think they can go anything lower than this.

Moreover, they are going to renovate the ballroom.

Gals, normally how soon u guys did yr food-tasting? And when is good to meet up with yr co-ordinator to discuss the details like: Decor of ballroom / wedding favours / programme etc?

I am trying to START the photo montage, is it betta to do in powerpoint or windows movie maker? Pls advise

Blur_btb: Congratulations girl! I am glad that you had a good night!

Just wondering if you DIY your own photo montage? If so, did you embed song in your montage? I am thinking of doing so but not sure if the hotel would allow due to the licence issue? Cheers
happy.gif

drizzles54> I had the same qns as u b4 i started doing my montage. But window movie maker will make things alot easier. If u wana convert powerpt into video file, you need some 3rd party sofeware to do so. If you can't convert to movie file n play using Powerpt itself during ur banquet, i think it might jam if u hv alot high res photos. Powerpt abit restricted to merge two music together. Movie maker is alot simpler. Hope this help.

As for food tasting, I'm doing it one month b4 the banquet. Hope that is not too late or too early. Hopefully will discuse the details during that time too. Yet to make an appointment with the manager. Can someone also advice?

MemorableChocolate: Wow, did you take my wedding setup on 10 Jul? I had my jiemeis help to set up a candy buffet table also but no one seem to have a pic of it before all the candies were snapped up! So waiting for the PG's cut which will take quite a lot of weeks I think....

chootobe: Thanks much.... are you planning to sign le or still looking around. I tasted the food on the actual day and it seems to be of equal standard when i went for food tasting... so i was quite impressed.

I aso thinking of setting a candy table haha but which part of the reception u set at? Did u get them to arrange another table for u specially for the candy buffet?

Blur_btb> yap i took on 10Jul, but i didn't see any candy buffet.... haha was off after 5.30pm. Keke. Great idea to hv a candy buffet. Nice. How much u spent on that?

w3n> i have a photobooth with guest taking free photos n printed out n sign at the back as for our guestbook album.... Hotel manager say can help us set up additional tables beside the reception table... So u can do the same too. =)

Blur_btb > I've actually viewed more than 10 hotels and so far, GPCH is the one that is able to meet most of my requirements i.e. pillarless ballroom, attractive package, great food reviews etc etc. So, I guess I'm quite ready to sign up wtih them le. Going to meeting my coordinator again and will most probably place the deposit then.

Wow, a candy buffet sounds interesting. How is it like? 1 of the perks that they are giving now is 5 trays of canapes. Would a candy buffet still be required in such a case? Of course more is merrier *haha* but also dont wanna make my guests eat too much. They need to save their stomach for the yummilicious dinner! :p

If anyone has photos of a candy buffet please post ok. Thanks!

MemorableChocolate> your photo booth sounds similar to an idea that I have for my ROM. Are you using a polaroid camera for this photo booth? Or using a digital camera attached to a printer? I'm intending to use a polaroid but the films are very expensive....

Anyway, if anyone wants to know what are the perks for the upcoming MBS exhibition can PM me.
happy.gif

chootobe> Haha, i had a photobooth for my ROM too, but i didn't use polaroid, I have two photo printers, able to print from Pictbridge/memories card. I'll have bros n sis helping to take pictures n print out. As my wedding theme is masquerade. Guests can bring along mask n take pictures and sign at the back or write wishes for us. At the same time will print an extra one for them. =)

Thanks, chootobe..

Thanks!

There are no pictures provided to show how the ballroom will look like after the reno. My wedding coordinator only said that there will be a change in curtains, carpet, lightings and removal of the chinese calligraphy painting. I guess we just have to wait till the reno is done to get a glimpse of it.

chootobe>> do post some pix of the ballroom after you've attended the wedding in oct. Tx!

hi everyone,
I am interested in GPCH but will only have about 20 - 22 tables. I have e-mailed them and Christopher replied me to say they only take 25 tables minimum. Is this true?

Hi all, I email Chris two days ago to book my food tasting, he hvn't reply. Recently I email him but will take a few days, previously he was more promt to replying, nowadays abit slow. That time also, I resent my email twice then he reply. =\

Aiyo, very sad. I wrote a long message yesterday but I think it din get posted. Trying to recall what I wrote.

w3n: Beside the reception table, there are 2 glass tables. I used one for the album table and one as the candy buffet table. Chris and team provided table runners for me and there is an existing floral decor in a glass vase with orange twigs that we used.

bedazzle_me: Yes have the canapes and i din even get to see them. Heard that they were served in our chinese soup spoons and were snapped up very quickly.

MemorableChocolate: Haha, you left before table set up. My 2 jiemeis started at about 6pm and finished before 6.30pm I think. I asked my PG and he said he did capture some photos of that table. Will share with you when I get it.

I dun think I spent more than S$60 for everything on that table. DIY the paper bags, signage and the containers and mini easel for the signage are from Daiso and Ikea. So cheap cheap.

The candies that I put are a lot of those from my childhood days, so they are not very expensive to purchase.

Wah, got theme de, very exciting. If you have some spare budget, why not buy some masks from party store and give to first 20-30 guests who arrive? Can also provide some props for the photo corner.

chootobe: I provided paper bags for them to dabao the candy so that they dun overeat. I bought 100 paper bags from SKP (those used to put baos when we buy them from coffeeshops) and then print our wedding mascot (you can put monograms also) on them using our home printer.

Blur_btb> Haha we think alike. Ya I bought like 50 masks to give away but didn't tell anyone, just hope they will bring along their own. Ya my photobooth got many props, feather fan, feather scarf, hollow frame... etc etc. Haha, hope the guest will hv lots of fun. Think will do away the candy corner, if not my guests n helpers will be over loaded. I also DIY some Kids activity booklet for my young guests which they can just take. And some foldable toy with our face on it.

I have a wedding website too with pictures of the activities booklet n foldable toy I made, can email me n I can send u the website, doesn't wana post here. =)

wow i really like the candy table idea, initally i was thinking of having some snacks and chocolates going around and on the tall tables(besides the canapes) but i think putting them on the table sounds even better. but those candies and old time snacks attracts adults also? or more for kids? cause i think my guest list not alot of children hee.

looking forward to your pics so that i can have a rough idea! =)
