My adv to u is u have to show the black theme in your parent eyes before cfm it. Check with your co-ordinator which day have black theme banquet then bring them to see on the spot.

From what i see, most of the old folks will not accept it cause it's really dark colour when with soft light. My mum see her eyes herself and warn me don't ever to think of this theme. She don't like it.

Hey bbp, Zona told me the same thing. I'm also confused about the themes. I only know of the black & red theme and the white theme with orchids or baby breath.

I thought they will have some unique favours like coaster, keychain, etc.

I'm slowly having problem with the black and red theme too. Initially, his parents said they don't have a problem with the black theme. Then slowly, they have comments like too dark, very dim, etc.

I know i sound bad, but what i like abt Hyatt is bcos of their black and red theme that the reason y we pay so much for them. Hehe. Hm.. if ur parent dun really like black and red theme then maybe u can use red roses to brigther up the room so it look more better.

I dun think they have other favours. From what i heard from them, they only have chocolate, pinapple tart and fruit cake. Me and my bf decided to buy other wedding favours outside.

Zona showed me 3 pics. 2 white themes - 1 with orchid and 1 with baby breath.....and 1 red theme. I find the white theme a bit too plain....I like roses too =)maybe I will use pink roses if it is the kind of pink I like.

Ya....they have only 'edible' wedding favours. If you would like to get your own wedding favours, you can negotiate for some other perks.....but imagine if you buy a $2 wedding favour, 30 tables will be $600!!!! hmmm, actually chocolate is not a bad idea, hahaha

Hi Gals!

I'll be going down to view the ballrooms soon but am surprised to find the flowers decor so plain, just flowers in a vase. Seems like not much effort. The VIP table isn't that grand also, just a different table cloth.. The spoons are porcelain and same as what guests are using. I've seen elsewhere where VIP tables are with gold plated spoons, at least that make a difference. Are there any nicer themes? Anyone has photos of the black & red theme? I have to make decisions soon as my WD is a hot date! Thanks a million!

Hey everyone, just had my dinner at Hyatt last friday. Zona is the best! AND so is the banquet team - they were all a blast to work with....and my family is cantonese and VERY picky about the food.

Hyatt outdid themselves by providing such good food that EVERYONE complimented my parents etc.

Actually for Hyatt they dun have themes. I heard from my cooridnator. Those items can mix and match. Yes, their florist decor very plain. I also prefer more elaborate design too. Pray they will change the florist. Hehehe..

Dear All,

Actually Hyatt can mix and match with the flower and theme they have. They have special rose ball for VIP, i like it much. Last time use to be free, but heard it will need to top up now, $60 per table?

Haze, our parent still can't take the black table cloth with red rose, they still feel too dark and my husband not like it too cause of the "black". He said not a good sign for wedding esp we are chinese. So, i better listen.

Anyway, this is 2 families happy ocassion and not just 2 person, so be better to peace the important person (4 old folks). if their face black black, whole banquet will not peaceful. I learn this from my friends. Be better to peace the parent cause the invitation card if from our parent name and not us, so they are the host actually and we just a key couple in the banquet.

Hi dreamer,

If your contract is stated nett rate then it won't be affected. Unless they stated subj to prevailing GST % charge. Then that will be anothers story.

I've checked with Zona who's my wedding coordinator and the prices are nett, even though there's a small print that says prices are subject to tax changes. I'm sure your prices are nett too. Just call your coordinator and confirm it with them. A simple phone call will really ease your mind.

By the way, Seafaith is compiling a chart for all Hyatt brides. Would you like to join in?

Seafaith, if really both parent dun really like black and red theme then better dun use. For my cases, my mum very qing chye. So alrite for me. Duno abt my bf sides. As he haven't bring it up to them. My bf say he dun care abt them. Even they dun like we will sure take. It our wedding. Hehe..

Good to hear u can make your own choise, but we cannot, too many party need to take care their feeling. Anyway, my EG is chilli red, thus the red back drop is out for me. So, think will need to use Singapore flag colour...hahah

A day-use room is for your helpers to lounge in when you're in your bridal suite. It's not necessary but I think it's a nice-to-have, especially if you have MANY helpers and they can't fit in your bridal suite. Haha. If I'm not wrong, it's 3pm-8pm.

My 2007 package did not include a room for helpers. It's under one of the wishes but since it's too early to decide on my wishes, I decided to just ask for a day-use room first.

FYI, the red table cloth and for the chair cover only for 2 VIP table. Others are black table cloth and black chair cover. Personal feel is bit dark with soft light, but depend on individual. I like it cause cool, but too bad no chance to cfm it.

Hi!

Ya, went down today and saw the Black/Red Theme. The guests' tables will be all black unless u choose red roses to compliment. Took a peep at Hisbiscus Rm(HR) and kinda prefer HR to SSR. HR is more squarish and with nice grand curtains and goldie wallpaper. It's more grand and cosy than SSR. But GH is not selling HR as it may be closed for reno next year. One good point about SSR is the private reception cocktail area. There are sofas around for guests to linger before banquet. But really fell in love with HR! Have checked with Zona also, nett price not affected by extra GST hike. Also got to know that as I'm having Wedding Luncheon, there's no food tasting. Gotta pay full rate if we want. But this is not an issue as I think the dishes will be as good on the day itself. GH wouldn't want to tarnish their image! Will confirm final by tis wkend. I must thank all u gals providing all the advice and photos here! Cheers!

Quite true. Wedding is consider a 6 people matter. For our cases, we really like the black theme so we juz dun care them loh. Most important is our memories that lay behind us. Hehe. U have choosen ur EG? Wow... that early. I saw our BS and i fall in luv with one EG that black & gold colour. Can match our themes. Hehe. Juz worry older ppl will get a shock i march in.

I had confirmed my WG, EG and also had taken photo shoot. We had went through the photo choosing on beginning of this month... photo turn out quite satisfied. Due to the budget, we have no choice to give up a lot of nice photo... but anyway, i know if i choose i will be regret later.... heheh.... that's woman!

Hi Haze,

Wedding Luncheon is lunch instead of dinner. It's still an 8 course sit down Chinese banquet. I'm having another reception dinner in M'sia the following week after. I do not have the usual, parents and parents in law toasting on the same day. It'll just be for my family 1st in S'pore, thought I'll do tea toasting for my parents side and solemnisation at the hotel that's y I'm taking lunch instead of dinner. Tis way I don't have to wait till evening without any programme in the afternoon. I'll bring my sis down to have a final look tmrw and I should be confirming w GH soon.

hi all , we just had our wedding dinner at Hyatt on 22Nov , Camelia Room , and it was fantastic ! we had black and gold theme ... with red roses all over the room , looks elegant and classy... roseballs definitely must get for Bridal and VIP tables, worth every cent... the Grand Suite was superb ! we had our solemnization inside the Suite , with about 10+ guests to witness the event.. the morning bfast nice , hot , yummy... the facilities (sauna , jaccuzi , pool , etc) are good too... Hyatt really knows how to pamper its guests...

must really thank the staff at Hyatt... especially to Zona (if you are reading this) ... thank you so much for everything , our wedding couldnt have been so perfect without your help and coordination ... we have feedback from our guests that the food and service is good , and the setup is really classy and elegant (black and gold theme ... with lots of red roses and petals) , and lots of compliments from relatives and frens that the Grand Suite is IMPRESSIVE ! Hyatt is definitely the right and best choice !

i have book my wedding at the grand ballroom on a weekday with min table of 40 stated by hotel. Wonder if i only have abt 35-38 tables exclude reserve tables, will hyatt still charge me the min of 40 tables or 35-38 tables which will be sufficient all my guest?

I also fall in luv with the rose ball. When i sign with GH, i was told that it need to top up money. For me, if need to top up money then i give it up. Not worth it loh. The banquet only last the most 4hrs, after the banquet those flower can't been eaten. Hehe. Only that i dun really like their florist. PRAY PRAY they will change, then we can have more flower design to choose. Hehe..

It good that u have settle ur photo and gowns. For me, we only juz sign with them last week. Next year march will start my photoshot. Cant wait. Hehe. Hm.. top up photo really make us headache. Glad to hear u overcome it. For me, i chosen BS in JB. Becos i know if we need to top up photo at least it worth be that expensive as in SG. Hehe..

U have two wedding. SO envy u. Two time march in. Hehe. U havent start sourching BS? Hm.. First u must ask urself, what kind of style photoshot u like. After going their BS, u muz have a good look at their album. See if u like the PG style. For me, i like alot of themes so i sign with Venus in JB. They really give us alot of good bargain. If u want i can recommend u my cooridator there. She very very friendly and NOT pushy at all. Oh.. for ur update. In Plengi Plaza there a BS fair. If u dun mind taking in JB u can go down for a look. Yes, all flora arrangement is included. Only Rose ball need to top up. VIP table is black and gold but normally those guest table will be black.

personally i prefer black/gold theme over black/red theme ... with lots of red roses and petals all over the place

HL : still waiting for the photos from PG/VG ... think the suite is nice if you have less than 10guest , if more than 10guests some have to stand in the living room area

we didnt purposely put petals on floor... but we prepared red rose petals for guests to throw at us when we march in ... quite fun as the guests got a chance to participate in the march in , rather than jus stand there clap...
