I tried calling the Grand Hyatt people but nobody pick up my call... They don't work on sun?

I also drop by after CC wedding show but also no one can direct me to the right person.. Haiz... So in the end only got the brochures from them & tried to look at their ballroom but all was occupied.

So can we choose the black theme for manoglia / vadan room? Is the pillar very ugly? The price for weekday is $728 nett but they only have 8 dishes, for Grand Plaza Park Royal its $738 for 9 course. So what do the rest of forummers think?

i tink price has increased for 2007 ... about 9mths ago when we booked , it was 688nett for weekday ... 8 dish is ok for Hyatt because the portion are quite big ... maybe Parkroyal 9 dish but portion smaller ? not sure ...

Hi jlwc, thanks for your reply! I called Zona just now but she wasn't very forthcoming lei.. seem like not very helpful, just gave me the answer without further info.. Maybe I should approach another person.

Hovonwed, so what perks did Hyatt gave you? And who did you liaise with? I asked about wedding show, Zona say they are not sure when they are having & when I told her I thought Hyatt just had it in Sep this year, she started looking through her things & sounded not very sure... Hmm.. is she new?

Zona is the banquet sales manager. She is also my coordinator. So far i find her quite alrite, quite prompt in responding, esp when i ahd changed my wedding date 3 times.

If you 12 know when they are having the wedding show, keep a look-out in this forum. Some btb actually post it here to inform others.

My coordinator is Mandy. Didn't get any extra perks from her... Hyatt's package is quite comprehensive as compared with other hotels. Everything that should be given are all included in the package.

Did any of you get free flow beer for your banquet?

Because based on the wish list, only entitled to one barrel of beer (30l)
Is that sufficient for the whole dinner?

688nett for weekdays, thought that is only applicable for manoglia / vadan room?

If you guys take Sir Stamford or Hibiscus, that is going to be like 788nett per table for weekdays?

Belive the price went up to 828nett (another 40 bucks)

That is ex, cos most guest market rate still stays at 80 bucks..

Hi CTSQ the rate now for Magnolia / Vanda room is $728nett. My freind told me can negotiate with the hotel people but I am not sure... Semm like most people couldn't get additional perks lei...

Hi pple,

Hyatt is quite stingy on additional perks. But i would think that their package ae quite comprehensive. Nowadays, not many hotels (in fatc i think none) offer free flow beer le.

Yup, just afraid that one barrel might not be enough for guest.

I think most hotels do provide free flow of beer.. that was from our comparison

Hi SHirley, that's what I thought also, no free flow of beer. But I found that one hotel package is quite comprehensive, they do offer
1. Free flow of beer
2. One bottle of wine per table
3. Two night stay in hotel
4. S$60 room credit
5. And if you book 19 tables & below there is a 2 day 1 night stay at Holiday Inn Batam
6. 20 tables to 34 (I think) Free table of 10 pax
7. Free musical (Not sure what it is but I heard they have two violinists to play during reception)

Me & hubby were thinking of booking GH but the perks are not as attractive as the above hotel so we are seriously considering Holiday Inn Atrim (Concorde)

Hi Joey, the price now is $728 nett (weekdays) for Mag / vanda room, no need to negoitate the price. What I meant is to negoitate additional perks from Hyatt. You also thinking of signing with Hyatt? I am just afraid of the two BIG pillars.

Wows, the perks offered by Holiday Inn is really comprehensive. GH only allow us to choose either 2 or 3 wedding wishes only. But i am going to try my luck. Coz initially, i was given a function room for solemnisation, now tt i have done my ROM, i dun need that anymore. I will be pushing for 3N stay at bridal suite, 45min musical ensemble during reception. Beer wise i will not push coz most hotel dun have it anymore.

But i really love the private reception at GH SSR. So most prob will stay put at GH.

If you are worried about the 2 big pillars at mad/vanda room, you might 12 look at the comments posted by eve. She had hers in the room.

i had my wedding at hyatt last dec.. it was a weekday..
frens and colleagues usually give market rate from $80 onwards..
but i also received some $20 ang pows! haahha i presume from the frens of my in law... cos these ang pows won't have names on it...

beer consumption for me was one barrel for 22 tables.. wine was more popular. hard liquour no one interested hahaha except for a bit cos they use it for the sharksfin

basically service wise was great.. no worries.. the waiters and waitress and the banquet mananger are all GREAT..

for the camelia room is issue is the lack of the private reception area.. maybe u would like to check with ur coordinator any other wedding on the same day to avoid confusion cos there are 3 ballrooms on the same level..

otherwise shld be fine...

hihi eve, do u know if let's say a table exceeded 10pax, say got 12pax .. but the 2 pax is children, age less than 5yrs old ... do they charge extra for each pax ?

How abt for maid ? also consider as 1 pax?

the max no of pple hyatt allow per table is 11. can include one more pax.. still charge at per table pricing.. i have 2 tables with 11.

If you have a lot of tables exceeding 10 pax, they may impose the surcharge. Of cos maid is included, unless you tell the manager that the maid won't be eating. LOL

hahahah i think unless the maid doesn't get a seat??? i went to a colleague's wedding at marina mandarin.. and the maid doesn't have a seat. i was sitting with the boss family and the maid just running and there feeding the kids. very poor thing. and the maid actually wear a uniform.. hehe

I had my wedding @ Hibiscus room on 8th Oct. Very cosy if it's 22-23 tables. Service was great. My account manager, Zona Au, was very accomodating. Upgraded us to Corporate grand suite for the wedding weekend.

Hibiscus Room has a private reception area for your guests. Shudn't worry abt the sound system as it's working very well 3 weeks ago..
