Thanks eveuloveme,

Think Hyatt has a camelia room that might suit my small wedding.. There is not many hotels that has a ballroom that cater to small wedding like mine.. haiz..

From previous threads, seem like your AD is already over? how is your experience with hyatt? Are they sticky about freebies? My main concern is their food menu and decor of the room.. Any kind tips to share? Many Thanks!

Btw, anyone has pics of the bridal suite?

Cheers & have a great week ahead!

Hey BenDi,

Any one that can cater to my small number of tables... Right now, I have in mind is Hyatt, Oriental & Marriott. Personally I quite like marriott as the overall package is attractive.. I am waiting for a reply from them pending to the min tables required.

Any recommendation?

hi compassrose,
eheheh i have sent u the AD programme cos u requested in another thread?
have u received it?

yuppy my AD is over.. it was back in dec 05.

hmmm for freebies, i think hyatt is very strict cos their package is very comprehensive so u cannot really negotiate much.. maybe extra parking or cards.. other than that.. very hard...

as for the service.. basically the service was gREat.. we had a great time and the food was very good too. the servings were huge and fresh! hehee

the best thing was the suite.. it was huge and facing scott road. heehhe very nice!! we went shopping after the AD and we could rest ourselves in the suite before going again!

decor is nice too! no problem with the flowers and stuff! they are quite generous and there are tonnes of theme to choose from..

u can take a look at my pics of the ballroom @

go to the foto album....

hope it helps~

Compassrose, this marriott people make me angry! said will call me back for appointment and email me pic, both not done and when I called on Sat, all not around and the only one around appt fully booked.

Anyway, back to the topic, they do cater 15 tables but then they said only for lunch so i did not even bother to go to them again.

My choice is Oriental for my 12 tables-15 tables. Hubby loves that place so much after viewing. Shall not say too much here.

Is good choice to take GHyatt, I will still recommend this place, just too bad I don't have 25 tables to use the hibicus room.

Hi Eveulove,

Once again thanks! Hibicus room is instead very nice, now i know why that room is such a poplular choice.. Also like your wedding favor. Did you get it from the hotel? What sort of wedding favor do the hotel provide?

I am hoping to bargain for corkage wavier for wine. Most of my guests are drinkers.. will save alot if hyatt can wavie off the corkage.. haha..

Hi BenDi, Finally found someone who is also planning for a small & cozy wedding.. Don't be angry, planning for wedding should be a happy event, just too bad for marriott... they won't get your biz.. U in oriental thread? will pop by to discuss further about the hotel.

I even get replies from this hotel that suggest that i consider Aug as it's the low peak season. So they will 'consider' bending the rules to cater to my small no. of tables... haha.. well, just laugh it off.

Have a great day ahead ladies.

hi compassrose,
i will send u the AD programme tomorrow cos i left my disc in the office.

i think now hyatt has this wish list right? whereby u can get a bottle of wine with every table u booked?

u can take the wine from them then they will waive off the corkage..

my favour was the fortune cookie. hmm but i think now they dun have it anymore.

now they have the chocolates, the pineapple tarts and the cakes? if i am not wrong.

Thanks Eveuloveme,

Actually I am refering to the paper stand that is featured in your website.

I made a appointment with Hyatt to have a detailed discussion on what they can offer. Spoke to this lady - Marie, not too friendly hence i have no faith in their service.

Maybe i will get Zona since she is highly recommended by u guys when i decide to confirm the package.

Wow, u are still up at this time. Are you teaching the afternoon session?

Marie, I've met her,got the feeling she is very new and we made appointment with Audrey , ended up served by Karina and she left right after her "bye bye", my hubby said,"aren't she suppose to see us out?" Marie quickily went to get her and came back saying,"she is meeting another couple." When asked how come not attended by Audrey, as we were actually with her, Karina said ,"ya, but she is meeting a couple now." when we actually wait till she finished, thinking that is our turn, she said sorry as another couple already waiting. was not a very pleasent meeting on last weekend.

Btw, did they just start charging for the rose balls for the VIP table? These used to be free (along with alot of other things we negotiated) - seems quite stingy on the freebies now!!

hi gals

me and wife were served by anthony during the recent wedding show. he's pretty new too but we kinda think he's not bad...very friendly...was just wondering if the rest of prospective Hyatt couples feel the same way?

To be honest, the packages offered by hyatt is quite comprehensive. My concern is their service and decor.. That why, i can't really decide.

Hi,

Hyatt is having promotion for wedding dinners and only for New Bookings confirmed before 24 July 2006.

Free 2 nites stay at one of the hyatt hotel around the region. Namely, Bali, Kuantan, KK, Thailand etc..

I guess this might interest those who has already made up their mind to go for hyatt...

Hope it helps!

Hi Bendi,

I guess the coordinators are all packed with appointments on weekends. Anyway, just to share my experience with you. My coordinator is Karina. I am quite happy with her service.

She came before the dinner to check that everything was running smoothly in the ballroom. When I had problems with the hotel parking attendant, she immediately came down to settle the problem. She also kindly helped me to remove all the price tags of the markers that I brought for the guests.

Anyway, as for service, the people at Hyatt are quite professional. One of the waitress accidentally spilled wine on one of my guests. Such things do happen, but the main thing is, the manager was very quick in reacting to the situation. He offered new pants for the guest to change and offered to send the soiled clothing for laundry, which was later delivered to the guest's address.

Another thing that I would like to mention, friends whom I have spoken to, enjoyed the food very much. Even my principal praised that the food was good. The portion was also generous. So you need not worry about the food.

However, if you are not comfortable with the previous coordinators, you can ask for a change. Maybe you can try Zona (Eve's coordinator). Few other brides were also quite happy with her service. Hope that helps.

Hi all,

Had my wedding at GH SSR in march. We used the black theme and like it very much. And I am generally satisfries with their service

But from my guests' feedback the fish they serve for some tables are not really fresh, maybe its because we add 2 tables at the last minute( 2 days) and they do not have enough time to prepare.
