I actually signed up w Hibiscus rm.. then as my guest list grew a little longer, change it to SSR.. luckily SSR still available on that day... u cn ask ur coordinator if SSR is available on ur wedding date...
but i feel that 2 rms are equally nice... juz that hibiscus rm a bit smaller...

hi gingerleaf,
i just had my wedding at the hibiscus room last week, and I would say it was really magical.
you won't regret choosing the hibiscus room. no problem with the sound system, and we managed to play montage on a screen placed to the left side of the stage.
we had about 27 tables, and the space was just nice.

txs. me and hubby fell in love wif the grand ballroom and the black theme when we attendd a friend's wedding in Jan 04.
friends commented the food was nice, esp. the shark fins, fish and dessert.
mine was a weekday package but i think Hyatt adjusted their price according to some btbs here. so i guess you will have to speak to Hyatt's coordinator. I dun have their price list anymore. sori

I'll be having ard 25 tables.. btu not too sure if the list will grow by then.
I love Hibiscus as well, juz that I prefer SSR's width. More room to sashay down the aisle.

your black theme is very classy. I think the alternate sashes did help! But our folks r a bit bandang, so think cannot go for it. Was the piano still working? Our coordinator told us that it's spoilt.
For those interested, Hyatt is still having the black theme. But I think gold and silver themes are phased out already.
