my wedding's on 1 Jan 06 in the grandballroom. Was very impressed with your black theme... wonder if it'll look dark if used in the ballroom i'm taking... hmmmm....

i had my wedding at Hyatt Grand ballroom on 22 Dec 04 using the black theme. my guests find it classy and nice... dun worry, it won't be too dark...

We went to check out a black themed wedding in the Grand Ballroom before we had ours, & honestly that one was kinda dark. But circusbugs' pix seemed fine, so I am sure it wont be an issue - just use more cheery flowers & more tealights...

Btw, if you gals are still considering - my sis just had her wedding in Raffles Hotel (main ballroom) 2 wks back, the layout was ultra romantic (think: high ceilings, wall murals,elaborate chandeliers, & they dont scrimp on the flowers!) Can check that out as well...

Well, AD is some time away still... let's see what new themes Hyatt may have by then. But still think the black theme is real cool! hehehe...

circusbugs, possible to view some of your ballroom photos? I reckon yours will be the best for me to have an idea since your AD dinner is the same ballroom as mine... you mind?

from the photos, it doesn't look that dark like you mentioned. slightly different feel from the room bigtoes used. hmmm... shall show them to my FH and see what he says...!

u may hv the misconception tt it will be dark cos the grand ballroom itself is black colour...

hubby attended a few weddings in grand ballroom. the oni time we were really impress was when we attended our frd's wedding in jan 04 and they chose the black theme in grand ballroom. we told each other... 'this is wat we wanted'

fr on start when we sign the contract we already told our coordinator we wanted the black theme...

Circusbug - Thanks for the Pics....I also mine will turn up as nice as yours too...btw, the pics you showed me is actually during the setup period? Do you happen to have some pics where the guests are sitted oredi? Coz I juz need to see the overall lightings thru out the whole nite.
I like the Baby breath as well but I using the red roses instead.

Hey gals, so they are keeping the black theme after all? ...fat - we used red roses with our black theme (SR room), most of the guests (the women at least) ended up bringing the roses at their table home

Btw, if anyone is interested, my cousin is also holding a black themed wedding at the Hibiscus room on the 13th March - if you want to pop by to have a look before the wedding starts.

I have a Hyatt Grand Deluxe room voucher for a day stay going for $200 nett (normally room rates for couples range from $200+++ to $250+++... at least that is what I paid when I had my wedding in Jan 05) .. valid till next Feb 06. Anyone interested? )

the manager actually reported that they spill drinks on one of my guests so they loan him a shirt and took his soiled shirt for cleaning in an hr.

sound syst was bad for my wedding. we tested the syst 2 days b4 my AD. was alrite but on AD the syst was bad. dunno why...

think sound system malfunctions can happen in any hotel or restuarant.
Guess just really have to check/try it out the day before or maybe even the day itself. =P
