Waterfront Ballroom (max 28 tables): 2 pillars

Hi Angelia, I am holding my dnner in Dec 2010 too. I've emailed to ask them previously. They don't allow bookings for Dec 2010 yet. Cos the pricing is not out.

virtual> ya.. i met up with the coordinator, jeremy lok, tat day and he told me that the management had decided to extent the package to sep 2010. so we try to nego with him based on 38+2 tables and the fact that we arrange to meet him up so early despite our date is still far away can he try to give us that pricing for 3 oct also, afterall the difference is not that far apart.

he told us he will speak to his management and c if can be done and call us back. we attempted to nego wif him on some items but he seem pretty afraid to commit and hard to nego, so i tink me n my bf will look ard at others again before committing.. will be gg to Goodwood next.

Hi Does anyone interested to hold their ROM at the Promenade? Heard from Elizabeth need to charge. Anyone manage to waive it off?

I took the waterfront ballroom. The suite was so small. Anyone manage to upgrade to a bigger one?

hi everyone,
am new here. Went to take a look at the suite and agree that it is very small and quite old. Feels like a standard room and is really quite below par compared to other hotels. Heard that the hotel recently refurbished all the other floors EXCEPT for the bridal suite floor. Like penny 81, was wondering if anyone was able to upgrade to a bigger or better suite?

Any BTB has signed up a package but still going to the wedding fair to take a look at their themes? Do we need to pay to go to the fair if we already signed up with GCW?

think for Btb taking the grand ballroom should have a bigger suite.. for the other ballroom think should be the standard suite..

Hi all,
I am 2010 BTB too...
Went to see the grand ballroom and are quite attracted to the size and shape of the ballroom..
But just wondering when will they open the curtain for the glass window?
And will the glass panel reflective in photo taking???

Anyone GCWF brides care to share if the glass window is reflective in photo or not??

Oh and i saw the photo of the bridal suite... looks ugly leh... Is it still the same now?

Hi all,

understand that there is going to be a wedding fair soon & got to know that Sattine Bridal Couture is the authorised bridal for their event.

Just a word of caution that pls do not be taken in by Sattine. I'm one of the unfortunate ones to be taken in by their Sales tactics. And there are alot of brides to be who had similar encounter. If you do not believe, go to the Bridal boutique thread and look for their name. They actually prevented the BTB to share their experiences on the thread and had the moderator to delete all the comments. Their act really angered alot of BTB who took up their package. Also, to be frank, their framed foto designs etc are also out-dated. I oni realised that when i saw many of my friends' big frame photo are those glass and classy type. But Sattine is still using those notmal wood type.

in conclusion, do not be taken in by their "beatiful" gowns on that day. Sattine is one of the worst bridal shops along Tanjong Pagar. And dishonest...as they even concealed themselves by disallowing the brides to comment on the thread.

Hi. Thanks everyone for sharing.
I'm a Dec btb and was really useful reading some of you guys comments
Ya, am worried about the reflection of the glass window as well..cos i saw some actual day photos of ballroom with the curtains drawn and was quite reflective...couldn't focus on the people on stage in the photo cos the stage backdrop also quite messy against the glass. Alternatively, you can have the stage right in front (left of the glass display) but there's a line on the wall behind the stage where the balroom can be cordoned off into two, and think the set-up with the projectors will then be a bit wierd?
Perhaps it's best to hear from those who have been there done it...For those who have already had their weddings in GCS's grandballroom..how did your photos turn out of the stage? reflection etc?

It's a bit tough that JM only meets brides-to-be so near to the actual date, if we don't like their design, it's really hard to source another one within the short time frame!

hi jasmine, can you pls pm me JM's contact? do we contact them directly or through hotel coordinator?

my AD is in nov, if we can enquire about the price earlier perhaps through phone, at least we have time to source outside too?

i used all white roses for my wedding. will try posting photos. also the grand ballroom effect of the garden backdrop when the curtains open up during ur champagne pouring is really nice. many of my guests commented on the 'wow' factor. i dun tink there was any issue with glass reflection.

if u take the GB, u will get the bigger suite...

Anyway, just a side question from the wedding decor of GCW.

How's the food like? I am thinking of signing up with them for 2010, but as I am working overseas, I doubt I get an opportunity to go food tasting.

So any kind advice would be greatly appreciated

dino: i din go for food tasting for my wedding either, and e food on AD was fine... u can rest assure tt GCW's food are of a gd standard... my guests commented tt e food was better than other weddings they attended...& i also greatly enjoyed e food (cos they'll keep a portion of the food the couple missed & send it to ur suite after the banquet) -- & i dun tink its juz cos my hubby & i were hungy...haha! =)
