ya, Galleria is more private. Only ballroom on that floor.
but i do agree with the banquet mgr that, if 10 - 11 table still oke. If really max out to 16 tables, might as well take Riverfront.
It is a long march in, and 1 table on each side.
i had my DND at Galleria before. We had ard 13 - 14 tables. Is quite squeezy.
Its like 2 tables, follow by 1, than 2 tables and so on.

hi girls,
just completed my wedding banquet on 17th Jan.
Overall comments on the food was nice.
Abit disappointed in some of the services, pretty slow in response time. but during banquet, it was quite ok.
Deco wise was not bad, but 2 things went wrong. 1st was the ribbons to tie the mid points of the aisle stands & stage deco were white instead of the gold we asked for.
the ribbons to tie the mid point of the stage deco was missing and we had to tell the banquet manager to get it settled. Not sure it is becos it is one of the last weddings June florist is doing so they hack care or what.

dreamz81> thanks! i won't be having the food tasting, so must hear from others what food it nice! =) so far really glad to hear the food has been good. have the wedding favours improved? there was talk about how the favours were quite limited at GCW compared to many other hotels.

My coordinator was also Theresa before she left. Yeah, she was quite bochup cos she was supposed to send me an email to tell me when I need to pay my 2nd installment for the deposit, but I didn't hear from her. I had to email her several times before she replied...Gosh.
Now my coordinator is also Jeremy, but I haven't had the chance to liaise with him yet. How about you?

May I know how long before your AD that you went to the florist to choose your flowers? I need to choose my flowers in Mar even though my AD is in Oct, cos I would only be back in Singapore then. Do you think it'll be too early?
And is the location of the florist accessible?

Has anyone gone to Tdragon to view the wedding invitation cards? I went to the website to view, but didn't find any design that I like.

From what I understand, signing up with GCW means we get 70% of the cards (excluding printing charges) free. Am i correct?

midnightdaisies> cos i was using june florist so I think I called them up half a year in advance to select the deco cos I was trying to decide on a theme, they were ok with it. What they told me is they will right down what I wan as of that time and if I want to change anything then call them about 2 weeks before the actual day.
But when I called JM florist I think about 3 months in advance the person abit don't want to entertain us, she will keep saying it is still too early, call 1 week before can already. So you must insist that you want to meet early and inform her you will only be backin singapore a few days before the banquet.
even after we insisted on meeting her and went down for our appt, she still keep harping that it is still very early while we were looking thru the decos available.

Was going thru the timeline documents given by my coordinator. Understand that I'm supposed to print my invites 3 mths before the banquet. Did u gals meet up with yr coordinator 3 mths before to tie up on things like wedding favours or is tis done like 1-2 mths before the dinner?

I was engaged to Theresa and its only until now Jeremy called me to tell me he has taken over my file when my wedding is in early March. I'm quite disappointed in this aspect.
How is he? Also re the florist, anyone of you has visted them? R there a lot of themes available? What theme did you choose?

Can update my records.. I engaged Melvin Ho as my PG.. haven found VG yet.. tons of things not done too.. stress..
I'm serious & all> my wedding is on 19/3.. i just arrange to meet my co-ordinator Sheena yesterday.. she told me to only visit the florist end of february.. as for you(i'm serious), if yours is early March, think you should try to call the florist probably next week to discuss the floral decoration, btw the person in charge is Dolly and she is on leave at the moment, not sure when she will back. Have you gone down to see Jeremy to discuss the table linen and choosing wedding favours? I personally find that the table linen choices are quite limited, they have green floral, bronze floral, purple circle and plain silver organza overlay.. table cloth they have pastel pink, ivory and black.. as for VIP table, they have matt gold and red.. U might wanna think abt the color theme before you meet up with him.. One more thing, GCW has just replaced the carpet in the Grand Ballroom.. it is black and gold now. As for wedding favours, I personally think is not bad.. they have light purple chopstick with sliver color 'Xi' printed on the top of the chopstick, purple measuring tape, shotglass with cartoon bride and groom with the words Thank you for sharing our joy, cute glass coaster with the picture of the back of wedding car with the words Juz Married, red and blue love shape luggage tag and business card holder in the shape of a purple pink glass grape (not very sure how to describe, you got to see for yourself).. Hope my little information helps..
to brides who have already held their banquet> has anyone chosen green floral organza overlay over ivory tablecloth for the guest table? has anyone tried the braised shark fin's soup with four treasure in green broth? On a scale of 1 to 10, how would you rate GCW's food? I dont have food tasting too.. and im a wee bit worried that the food is not nice.. thank you all in advance!
