We just had our wedding end of May and have purchased additional parking coupons on top of the complimentary ones from the hotel. There are 9 coupons left, am selling at $3.50 each (GWP sells at $4). 6 of which expire 25/7, 3 on 26/7.

Kass, how many people can we put at the reception table in the Windsor ballroom foyer? I have total of 6 'sisters', duno if it will be too crowded to have all 6 there.

I'll shd be taking pictures. I'll post here after the show. But it'll not be their current themes as it's the upgraded version. To see the current JM theme, need to get from coordinator. Can email them, but i think the file size shd be huge bah...

omg, i haven't been active because i'm so caught up with work. glad to know that there are some themes which are available for us to choose from! I kinda like the garden one even though it looks weird from plain sight. hahaha, i will go distrub MF!

btw, i think the invitation cards can be asked for earlier and i agree that one month prior to the wedding is quite abit of rush.

i hope the perks are better at the show because from what is displayed on the DBS website, last yr's deal along with DBS is way way better!

i'm not sure if i'm attending any of yours, but i'm going to attend one wedding later!! Congrats to today's bride!

My AD is Sept 4th but I have already collected my wedding cards. I think there should be no issue to collect your wedding cards earlier than 1 month before your AD.

Hi all,

I just has my wedding on 12 June. Really had no regrets choosing Goodwood Park! The place was grand and romantic, the guests commented that the food was good, the hotel suite they gave was big and the service of the staff was really good. We were full of praises for our banquet manager, Colin. He's jovial and very experienced. Both of us were pretty nervous and he kept reassuring us.

Many friends commented it was a very perfect evening

A word of warning to btbs who signed up during the 2010 wedding show and are getting Dreamweaver cards. Do view the high resolution artwork format if you are able to before endorsing. There may be discrepancy between the low resolution format they email you for endorsement and the high resolution format they actually use for printing. My invitation cards are now delayed because of this and its worrying because we were behind time due to "unforseen" delay on Dreamweaver's part in the first place and now this!

hi, sorry for the late reply. in Norway now, limited internet access :p

cocotintin, my event started at abt 8.15 pm. not sure what time it ended, but shld be early cos when I reached my hotel room again, it's only abt 11 pm. Think it ended by 10 pm. Our guests were quite on time, and because it's a Sun, we tried to end early by cutting down on unnecessary waiting. Immediately after the toasting, we started our photo-taking and it ended before the last dish. Then immediately after photo-taking, we went back to reception to bid the guests goodbye :p Our photographers were surprised that we went so early :p

apple, we booked the windsor ballroom and they upgraded us to the 2-bedroom suite.

love - did you stay for 2 nights or just 1 night after your wedding? Was there extra charge for the suite or did they agree to an upgrade no questions asked? Were there mirrors for the room?

We were given this reason after we refused to accept the printouts on collection day. And now we are behind time. So far my experiences have not been pleasant. Any brides having similar issues with the bridal show vendors like me? Please share.

Hi apple, do u mean all your printed cards are in low resolution?
By right, vendor send low resolution for confirmation and they themselves have to send the high resolution for print.

They printed in high resolution. However, there is a noticeable difference between the low and high resolution format. We were not informed about this at all prior to endorsing. My experience with them so far has not been pleasant. They missed deadlines and gave us wrong artwork for 1st draft and now this! We're now behind with our invites because of them.

Hi apple, We were given a 2 night stay, but because we had to rush for our honeymoon, we couldn't stay the 2nd night. Our coordinator kindly offered us a discount on the rental of the poolside terrace in replacement. The upgrade was complimentary, I was quite surprised too

Btw I made a typo error, the banquet ended at ard 10.30, not 10..

Cocotintin: we were done with our wedding dinner @ GWP, Windsor ballroom last nite..it was a great experience & we received many positive feedback from our guests. Kudos to our hotel coordinator, Anthony & banquet mgr, Colin.. their service is impeccable. Btw I managed to get the big bridal suite..it was really huge & beautiful..wish we have 1 more nite there.. u gonna have a lovely wedding banquet there too

blueangel: which bridal suite did u get? was it an upgrade? Any photos to share? I would love to take a look at the set up of the lights in the ballroom though or can u share how the lights are dim during before the dinner starts and when the dinner have started?

I am also currently speaking with Anthony about the wedding date and would like to know if you have any additioal advice on the package negotiation or things to look out for on the actual day pertaining to GWP ballroom? I am also looking at the Windso ballroom and was wondering what their setup and deco would be like. Thanks!

Cocotintin: Ya free upgrade..it was much bigger than d one we saw from d wedding show..I'm at Bali now for my Honeymoon Part I...will share some pics when I return.

Krispykrem: thanks for yr well wishes. Act, I negotiated for the standard things tt all other Brides mentioned in this forum, such as extra parking coupons, upgrade to bigger suite, extra night stay, helper's room but all got rejected but end up they exceed my expectations..my coordinator tried to fight as much as possible for me. Maybe mine was a Monday dinner too. We started ard 815 & ended ard 1030. The banquet mgr was v gd in controlling d flow too. We were v pleased with their service

The upgrades these few weeks (this week esp) are due to Communicasia, which is driving up hotel occupancies and most hotels are running full house. Hence the upgrade to a bigger suite, cuz wedding couples = high revenue.

I generally find the coordinators a lil inflexible during the nego stage, but closer to the wedding, they become more flexible and accommodate most of our requests as much as possible.

Cocotintin - you can control how dim or how bright you want the ballroom to be. Just have to let your banquet ops manager know during the briefing on the actual day.
 
Blueangel: will love to see some of your pics after u return from Bali ^^ Were u upgraded to a 1 bed room suite? was it on the same level as the ballroom?

Kass: wow.. i hope i get an upgrade too. hehe.. and am looking forward to my AV and lighting testing in a couple of weeks time.

Huge sigh of relief, collected my cards yesterday. Hope we are still on time.
 
Apple: dont worry, u r still on time. Start writing your invites this weekend and mail out by Sun/Mon. Colleagues can give abit later it is ok because u see them everyday. Jiayou!

cocotintin & apple: it's still a one bedroom suite, but I think it's d biggest room on d 2nd lvl (same fl as Windsor ballroom)..love d suite to bits

btw, dun worry too much abt sending d cards late..I think it's fine if u've informed yr guests & gotten their confirmation b4 hand. I only sent out my cards like 1.5 weeks b4 d Big day!

Hey... just to check does anyone knows if we get to choose the design of the 'fake' bridal cake on the stage. Also, does they hotel provide feathered pens for guests to sign on the guest book?

Nykolee - GWP provides feathered pens only for bride and groom during ROM, not for guest book signing. For the fake cake, I think there is only 1 design, iirc. It's a very neutral white cake which fits all themes. LOL.

Nykolee: I've asked abt the cake during the wedding show today. the cake design changes every 1-2 months, we dont get to choose the design.
