i was considering GWP previously and almost went along with the Tudor ballroom. but had seen the new Windsor ballroom and it was so much more grand! love the 3 big chandeliers and the ultra high ceiling... a pity it was taken for the date that i'm considering.

a lot of you had bad experiences with sarah. i met up with sarah too, but i found her to be very nice... nicest among all the hotel coordinators that i had met up with. ...what's wrong here??

I met up with Sarah recently too. We waited 30mins for her to appear. And she wasn't very sure of many things that we asked. Seemed a little inexperienced. But she's a nice person, felt comfortable discussing with her. Just not confident if she can do a gd job for me. She promised to get back to me by Chinese New Year. Let's see what happens from there....

Hi, anyone who'd engaged Felicia as the co-ordinator?Is she new? Pls share your experience. Love the ambience of the ballroom but read so much about the bad services & high turnover, am a little worried now. any share of experience will be useful.

to me...it seems if you are booking their winsor ballroom...they seem more pleasant to serve u...but if u looking at tudor...they kinda like dun bother...cos i called a couple of times & nobody entertained me inititally..so my FH ask me to tell them i m interested in the Winsor ballroom...abt a week later Sarah called me up...
Initially when i mention i wanted Tudor, 2 weeks...nobody bother to entertain me...*sad*
in the end i didn't choose them..
just my 2 cents..

Hi, i'm a newbie.
Mi n hubby wanted to have the dinner in jan 08. however, when we called GWP, we were told that the booking/menu of 2008 will only be available in April07. I left a msg to them and ask them to call me once the booking is availble. But looks like no one bother to call us since feb...... Looks like i got to give them a ring again.

We were pretty impressed by the service of the conceige manager when we dine in GWP, as he even showed us around the hotel ballrooms. We were very pleased with their service.
Hence, when we started calling GWP from Feb, we were very surprise by the late opening of the 2008. No doubt, we are giving 2nd doubts on the GWP.
We are considering Raffles Hotel and Marina mandarin as 2nd choice, however, we are still keep hopes that GWP will be able to live up to their name.

Hi poppop,

i was like you initially. started off with Raffles. Quite happy with Raffles service etc. But understand from my frens their food so so only. As I m more particular abt food, i decided to drop Raffles.
Went to GWP. I rang them up in Dec06. cos my date is 1st week Jan08. They told me dates are not opened for 08. I have to wait. They don't extend 07 package to me even if I book early. Initially they mentioned dates are out in mid Dec. i called. then told me early Jan. early Jan i called they told me end Feb. I think i can't wait tat long...so went to source for other hotels.
Then Sarah called me & ask if i would like to change my AD to Dec06. I went dwn to meet her...She is a nice lady...but sad to say she is very strick on perks...can't nego anything at all...
SO finally i decided on Marina Mandarin. Attended wedd there b4...quite nice ballroom...but the other ballroom is of a lower ceiling...if u dun mind...but their service is quite gd...my coordinator tried helping us as much as she could...perks quite gd too..

Hi muddpie,
Thanks for the advise, At least Sarah called you. No one call me up for like wat sarah did to you.
I was pretty upset by their response and svc. I felt like I am a parasite to them (keeping calling them) and they dun really bother to entertain me.
We are now sourcing for other options. Like you, after reading the forum and feedback on RH, we decide to drop RH too. As for MM we are still KIV despite Fiona is responsive and very polite. We will be arranging a day with her to view the vanda ballroom( not sure if u mentioned if this is the ballroom that is of low ceiling)
We are still opening up all our options. Tried to call other hotels like Hotel Interc, carlton, etc...we atill cant decide yet despite the AD is drawing nearer and nearer as deep down,in our mind, we still hope that GWP will get back to us.

Hi all,
Bad , Bad and very bad service. We were serve by JASMINE NEO. Young, inexperience, rude, unprofessional, not responsive, irresponsible. Just be careful when dealing with this "JASMINE NEO". She's really a "torture". No replies for our e-mails or sms and shut off her phone when we called her. Even asked another of her colleague to call us instead...but still it was another inexperience staff. Very surprise such a reputable hotel could employ such staffs to bring down the reputation. These are some very unprofessional quotes from this Jasmine Neo:1)"Very busy", I'm the only one handling everything(that's your organization's problem, tell it to your superior, not us)..2)"Working in GWP is not promising(how could she say that?), 3)(This is the best one): Why do you want to book GWP for your wedding, there are better ones out there(how can she ever thought of that?). I really hope the hotel could sent her for some PR courses or get a replacement,
having staffs like her will not be a great lost to the organization.
This a a note for her if she happens to read this:
"Jasmine, please wake up"

Hi Ariescap,

Sorry to hear that, recently i just sign up with GWP for my wedding in September but i have a different experience from you, my wedding planner is Jasmine. Both me and my hushand is impressed by her service depsite she is pregnant. Throughtout the planning till the confirmation stage is all very smooth sailing. Despite our demanding and unreasonable requests, she is still patiently entertain us. After signing the confirmation, she even advice us to do our food tasting and collection of wedding cards before she went for her maternity leave, as our wedding date fall when she is still in her maternity leave. Personally i feels this action of her is being very professionally and responsible. Overall we enjoy working with her.

Hi Xiao Hui,

Glad to hear that your experience with Jasmine is a smooth sailing one. However I am not as lucky as you then. Despite all the dificulities that I have faced during the stage where we supposed to finalise the contract, I still proceed with GWP on the basis that the Windsor Ballroom looks grand and that the food has standard quality. But it makes me more worrying now after looking at the comments from the past experiences that some couples faced.

Wonder if there are any couples who just had their wedding held at GWP recently and any comments to share?

Wonder if anyone have had their wedding there recently? I'm liasing with Jasmine, the wedding coordinator. How is she? I have yet to book the ballroom, so just wanted to check with you all whether if its advisable to go ahead..

Hi all,

Just to say that I had a very bad experience with the service of GWP. They took more than 2 weeks to write up a proposal for my wedding requirements for March 08, and they gave it to me only when I wrote an email to the manager to complain. After my email, they sent me the proposal within 15 minutes, and charged $10 more per person for the same menu which I received earlier. They then gave me about a week to decide, which I felt was really pushy. So in the end I decided not to sign up with them. Lost of confidence.

GOODWOOD PARK HOTEL

From experience, you are lucky if your sales manager is around more than 4 months. The managers quit very often in Goodwod park (industry?).

I held our wedding there last year and since the time we started looking at the place till 6 months later when the wedding was, there were 4 changes?

The staff there try but perhaps you should not have too high expectations from your wedding at Goodwood Park so that you will have a happy wedding.

You have to be able to accept that champagne may not flow equally, feather signing pen may have a cracked tip or they may forget to communicate to the chef that abalone was part of the menu.

Those are the experiences that make the day memorable. I count myself lucky I suppose. :)

Because of those wonderful memories, I forgot about the free anniversay stay that we thought was offered to make up for the blunders but the present Ass Dir of Catering asked for some proof.

I neglected to ask for black and white last year as I was so so angry they left out the abalone. After what the Ass Dir said, I write off this hotel to memory.

Hi M3hm3h, I totally agrees with you that if your sales manager is around for more than 4 mths. I signed up with them last year May and till now, i had already lost count of who will be my coordinator. My wedding will be in 3 mths time and i had not heard from them yet. I had also lost confident with them but like what you said, dun hv high expectations of them. Just enjoy the day. I had yet to got for food tasting too. Any comments on the food?

Hi, I am interested to hold my wedding next year at GoodwoodPark Hotel. Looking at the bad comments more than the good comments, I'm a bit worried but I think it's all depend on the coordinator.

Perhaps, I think they will try to improve on their services.

Morrie,

My wedding coordinator is Felicia too. I met her and discuss with her the package. Overall, she is perfect.

Hi everyone, I am just about to sign a package for the victorian wedding over a sunday. Just wondering what kind of package did everyone else get. Any extras that you managed to squeeze out?

I have been assigned to Jasmine Neo at this point of time and she seems very direct yet helpful. Anything to look out for before I sign the package. Have been reading mixed signals from the forum so far but I guess its everyones individual experience and approach. In any case, any advice given will be appreciated in ten folds.

Any feedback is most helpful. Any info on packages signed up for would be even better! you can email me at [email protected]
(I'm a guy sorting out the wedding preps cause my girl is posted overseas. So I may have to do this mammoth task single-handedly. Any help is much appreciated!)

Thanks girls!

Hi Kelvin, my wedding co-ordinator is also Jasmine, share the same sentiments she is helpful, my wedding is coming september. For my case, i ask about corkage waiver, additional cards, free flow of beer(not allowed she offered to upgrage my beer barrel to 30ltr instead)and food tatsing for 10 persons instead of 8 and complimentary usage of 4 projectors. We sign up eventually because we like the Windsor room and her service. hope this will help you up. Take care and good luck

The sales manager sucks. After we sign the contract, there was no follow up from him at all, everything has to be initiated from us. Bad customer service!
