Hi all!

I'm still thinking which venue to choose from these three - Shangri-La, Goodwood and Mandarin Oriental. Price wise, they are similar. I've listed some pros and cons of my own.

Goodwood - Pros: high ceiling, good food. Cons: reception area is tiny
Mandarin - Pros: good food and ambience. Cons: ceiling is not high
Shangri-La - Pros: good food, high ceiling. Cons: ambience alittle rustic.

Hope to be able to get some advice here.

Cheers!

Hi Kelvin! here's my 2 cents worth =p

Goodwoodpark: are you intending to ROM on the same day? if so, you need to fork out another $800 for solemnization by the poolside.
I dun like the mirror reflection in the windsor ballroom. i think it will affect the photography. and the wedding cake looks v fake

but i heard the food is nice

and you are right, the reception area is too narrow and if you have alot of elderly guests, they may think it's tiring to climb the flight of stairs.. and the tiny lift at the first floor is so squeezy
sad.gif
and dun have the hotel feel

Mandarin oriental: i love their themes! i'm sure you and your fiancee will find stg that you like

the food is good too! just that parking will be quite a challenge cos it shares carpark lots with marina sq..

Shangri-la: your guests will need to take a cab/drive there. The exterior looks quite old, but it has a grand interior and the brandname will ensure that your guests will give a decent angbao amt =p the tower ballroom looks v 80s..

the island ballroom v pretty but you will need minimum 55 tables.. oh yes, shang will give you a room for solemnisation

which is a bonus!

Cheers!
