I filed for divorce after being in an verbally very abusive marriage for 21yrs with the encouragement of my daughters (20yr oldest). I was threatened with divorce ever since the beginning of the marriage. I became a stay home mum when my twins were 9mth old. They were conceived by "accident" n were born 2yrs into the marriage. The moment I filed he cut off all monetary support thinking that without financial means to carry on I'll withdraw the divorce. But as the living conditions for me n the kids were so bad that we were reduced to living in my bedroom whenever he's home that I was determined to go thru the divorce as things can't get any worse than what it was. Went to court n got my PPO after 3 months of non-stop verbal abuse (CB,CCB etc were common) n stalking.
3 more mths later I went to the Family Court to apply for Maintenance and after more than 4 hearings Order was passed in July. He is suppose to be responsible for 50% of the kids sch fees, accomo. expenses but has to date not paid a single cent. I went back to Court for enforcement and here my nightmare starts again. He engages counsel n filed an appeal. He would rather waste $$ than support his daughters! Now I hv to go back for Mention n repeat the whole process again (when there's no new changes to the status or whatever new evidences)? How come it's so easy for the man to dodge payment? It has been nearly a year without a single cent fr him till Aug. This is extremely stressful n frustrating. Where am I gonna find more $$ while he make a mockery out of our legal system
