Hi,

Do you have to pay for the grand piano service. I ever asked albert before he saysHotel does not have a piano at the Mercury Ballroom, it has to be arranged from an outside contractor at a rate of $1,200++.

So any of you guys taking the mercury ballroom that has this service?

Hi Bang,

You did your solemnzation on your AD? May I know you did it before the dinner (as in around 6pm) or during the dinner itself? Me and WTB are considering doing our solemnzation on our AD too. Anyone got good suggestions?

My PG recommended 630pm cos he say solemnisation wont take more than half hr, too early end, wait the guests have to wait very long till cocktail reception start ...

Bang,

how long did the whole solemnisation ceremony took?

Anyone else AD coming and also having their solemnisation at the hotel? cos if possible i like to go take a look hehe

Roy,

u using which ballroom? if mercury, u can consider doing by the poolside

Bang, thanks. I think 6 to 6.30pm is a good time.

Bride09, ya, I think your idea is good. We are at the Mercury Ballroom, so swimming pool is good. So we must still log into ROM website to register the date?

Roy, yes, u still must do that....with the particulars of ur JP and his id...must remember to get the signed consent form of ur JP nearer to ur AD cos u need to present it together with ur necessary docs like nric, etc etc to ROM on the designated appointment date before ur AD

Hi all,

My banquet is this thursday. Is it too late if I confirm my number of tables and the necessary table requirements like 11 pax for certain table numbers to Albert yesterday?

Albert mentioned that they only have a DVD player to play the montage. How do you guys show your photo montage? Save the montage in a DVD? Which format is that? Can we play the montage from our own laptop?

I am asking all these questions because we did our own photo montage using Windows Movie Maker and we are unable to save it to a VCD for playback. Can someone advise? Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Just to share some info...My PG had some experience with FRF thus he told me that if you wish to use laptop then u beteer use it all the way and not sometimes lap top, sometimes dvd player. reason being, they uses different cable so when you switch, the screen will blank or disrupted for sometime wont be smooth. of cos if you dun mind then its ok. but pls take note if your photo montage, video, or whatever that is playing consecutively before your march in, not very nice if guests is focusing on your "presentation" then in between twitch here n there hehe

sorry guys... for those who had their banquet in FRF already... does FRF provides serving service to individual for all tables instead of to those VIP tables only?

hi,

can i know if the coordinator Halim is pushy? I'm making an appointment with him but i'm not prepared to sign the contract yet. Hope hes not the kind where somehow "force" you to take up their package.

Hi Grace,

Dun worry. I don't think FRF co-ordinators are pushy. =)

Mine is not. He is the type that tell u everything then leave u to decide. U can take all the time u want but they will only hold ur tentative booking for a short period.

Hi roland,

if i recall those weddings that i attend at FRF, they do not serve individually.

Hi Grace,

I agree, dun worry so far feedback they r not pushy, they got too much business to be pushy haha more likely u will rush to book in order to get the date you want haha well that was what happen to me la.

Hi all Btb, I have just had my Wedding on 26.01.08 which was held at Mercury ballroom. The experience is Good. All guests gave good comments on the atmosphere, food and service provided. The banquet manager, Jason thumbs up for him. He is very detailed and will look into ur needs. Dont worry all btb, you are in good hands with FRF. Enjoy ur Big Day!!

I would tink Mercury is a nice ballroom. V diff from what other Hotels offer. It offers a diff look & feeling. The ceiling is low however, it is a cosy place. The lightings above makes the whole place reli romantic & cosy. Its not posh but it offers a warm feeling.

Congrats 2 all BTB that chose Mercury Ballroom.

Ya.. I agreed with Shining_Hoshi, Mercury ballroom looks different and cosy.. but the only thing we fear most is what sort of services FRF will provide on our actual day...

can't answer that Grace though i've seen an actual wedding setup in Jupiter...

i guess the definition of it being small would actually be dependent on how many tables u have...

since jupiter can accomodate from 16 to 25 tables, say if ur tables is ard 18...i shd say that the room isn't that small cos there's plenty of space to move ard...

however, that day when i went to check out the setup, i tik the couple actually utilised the whole room...it was abt 24 or 25 tables...it was really crappo...i mean, there's possibility of ppl hitting their tables cos it's kind of like, back to back seats...

really, a good suggestion Grace would be to actually go down and check out a real wedding dinner setup for urself...i requested to see it way before i signed the contract...wanted to see and visualise how the wedding would look like in terms of decor, proximity within tables etc etc

Shining Hoshi, thank you.

Hi Ronald, thank you. I took 29 tables and it is still spacious when I moved around for table phototaking. No worry. What I learnt from my co-ordinator, Terence, the ballroom will b just nice for 30 tables. So not to worry if you take up to 30 tables.

I totally agree with shining hoshi that mercury is v diff from what other Hotels offer, though the ceiling is low it is a cosy, warm and romantic.

I would recommend the new deco with the arch.. the deco is romatic..

Btbs, I do not have any photos to share at the moment. I will share with all of you once I got my photos from my photographer.

Hi Grace,

I saw the jupiter room during the wedding show last year.
we didnt like it la cos its actually quite cramp.
It is a function room converted so alot dividers and pillars, we tried walking around and tested that guests seated at the 2 sides wont be able to see the stage at all, only throu projectors. if you are ok with that then its ok la.To us, we dont wan the guests to see everything thro projectors only....like very distant...
Best is dun hold the max no of tables that the ballroom can contain cos their estimation of max no of tables will mean min walking space and will be quite cramp, waiter/waitress will have difficulty squeezing throu to top up drinks or serve dishes and may end up not as frequent topping up.

Mercury can have a min of 22 tables ah.... so u can try that if Jupiter is too small & cramp ah..
Jupiter can b rather cramp as there is abt 2 pillars. So do pop by & see ma ah.....

danger82

New Member
I'll have ard 18 to 20 tables, mayb i'll try to get at least 22 tables cos i dun really like the idea of my guests having to look at projector screens. Thanks for ur info.

Hi grace...

ya try to increase ur table.I did the same too...
cos even the menu for the 2 ballrooms are different...dishes for jupiter like lower grade...

Hi netfinity, I would recommend the new theme, with arch n tealights- very romantic.... for favour I would recommend the Chinese wedding couple saucers..

i guess it's better not to start asking everyone if they got free piano services...it's not so much of a matter of the free service...it's the personal touch that the coordinator does for u...he/she need not do that, u know...so just let it be a surprise...if u do get it

but of cos we all would be more than happy to have the free piano service
