Not yet, my AD is Mar 08, so I guess still a long way, but when i attended their bridal show, i fell in love with their Black & Red theme, it looked so romantic.

Ooo Poey, your wedding pix are lovely. And you had the martini ice bar... looked fantastic and unique.

I just wanted to add my 2 bits about FS' flexibility. Although, they do not provide corkage waiver or free beer or fancy door gifts, I still felt that my coordinator was flexible. I managed to get some items changed on my menu (some of which was of higher value), got extra invitation cards, a lot of carpark coupons (I can't recall how many I had in the end but it was definitely more than what was stipulated). I also appreciated all the help I got from my coordinator- getting the programme together, a draft MC script, all the last minute arrangements for accomodations for my overseas friends and relatives. I especially appreciate that all my queries and requests were dealt with promptly and happily (unlike some of my friends who seem to have experienced some nightmare wedding coordinators).

Anyway, the house wines are ok. Perhaps, not the most expensive brands around but definitely not the worse around either.

MMC,
who is your coordinator? How many tables you have at FS? That's really nice for them to give u extra carpark. When I ask for just 5-10 pcs more...they also simply refused.

PlainGal,
My coordinator was Georgette. I had 13 tables. We didn't really "negotiate" for the carparks. On that day, we were given a stack of them and was asked if it was sufficient. Maybe on that day, you might not need that extra 5-10.

MMC,

I have and I have only about 13-14 tables. With the no of carpark provided, I am sure I have not enough to go around for people. That was why i requested for 5-1o more pcs.

U mean on the actual day you ask for carpark when insufficient and they willingly give you more at no extra charges?

PlainGal,
I'm not so sure how it went on the day itself as the reception was manned by the bridemaids and brothers. I think at the briefing right before the start, the banquet manager would have met with the groom/MC/coordinators to go over the programme and that is when they pass the carpark coupons. Probably you can try asking for more, then?

I think I will sign with FS then after hearing from you gals.
Chinoiserie, the perfume thingy sounds like a marvellous idea. I am doing lunch and wants to have an oriental theme. You bought in Hong Kong? Can't get it in Singapore?

Ming, from wat I know from the company, they only have one shop in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. I was lucky to find the shop when I went for a 1-week conference in Hong Kong last year. However, you might be able to find some (different brand) in Singapore Chinatown but I don't think they will have the mini bottles. If you need info, do let me know.

Hi,
I'm new to this forum.
We're choosing FS for our solemnisation followed by high tea reception in Dec 08.
Initially it was a toss between FS and Fullerton. While the Straits Room in Fullerton is lovely, we chose FS because of its excellent service. Hopefully this will make our planning and ceremony run smoothly....

hi chinoiserie,

can i see yr studio pics too? if i'm not wrong, u did a CS rite (read it from another thread here)? i also made a CS (from the same shop as yours).

Hi gals, I have chosen Four Seasons for my wedding banquet next Sept. I am told that they have a option for a Martini bar for the cocktail reception before the sit down dinner. Has anyone chosen this? Have you got pictures to share? I am told that it is always well received by guests. Can someone share their experience?

Hi gals, I just asked my coordinator if they will be able to keep some food for me and hubby to eat after the wedding but was told they couldn't do that due to hygiene reasons... just worried that we won't have time to eat much during the wedding itself. Did any of you gals get food delivered up to you after the wedding?

Besides the Martini Ice Bar and Strawberry Ice Bar have you gals had any other types of Ice Bars?

Hi Raine,
ic, I was told i will only get room service if i required food after the wedding lunch... a bit disappointed. Hope they don't kick me out of the ballroom before i finish my food then XD

Hi,
We just signed the contract with Four Seasons.
Checked with our co-ordinator and she confirmed that they will not serve the couple food from the banquet in their bridal suite after the event. So will have to get room service.
Like to check, anyone going to bring their dog for their wedding? I'll be bringing mine. So if anyone has experience with this, please share?
By the way, we saw a wedding set-up of the Gold theme with a grand baby piano in the middle of the ballroom. its very different and all the attention will definitely be on the centre. Too bad we don't play piano....

Hi Jac,

My friend has intention to bring her dog to her wedding. but from wat i understand from her is that only pets under 3.5 kg is allowed.

Since you already signed up, perhaps you would wan to double confirm it with your co-ordinator.

Hi waxie24,
Your friend will be the bride?
Yeah, I've checked with my co-ordinator and she said that I can bring my dog. My dog is a cocker spaniel and she weighs abt 10kg and the co-ordinator said its fine.
Mainly our dog will be involved in the first march-in and subsequently she'll be brought up to the suite while the meal goes on.
Is your friend in this forum as well?
Thanks for passing on this information! I guess we'll have to consider everything with regards to the doggies....

Yup. she's the bride. She's not in this forum. She spoke to the director of catering sales, that's wat she was told.

At the moment, she liasing with another location (with better perks). Will see how it goes.

I see. I think it could be a case-by-case basis.
Probably because they know that we are interested in other hotels and hence we have this 'bargaining power'. Sad to say though, this 'bargaining power' does not lead to perks such as cockage waiver, more for satisfaction of clients in terms of service.

Ladies, Georgina seems to be the co-ordinator for a lot of you. Anyone has any other experiences with any other co-ordinators at 4 Seasons? Can share your experiences with me? My co-ordinator is Mun Hoong.

hi fruitchick, my coordinator is Mun Hoong too. He seems quite experienced so far, being director of catering sales, at least i expect him to! hehe! He was able to advise on quite a few things like settings, ballroom layout, etc.

Hi Jac,
friendly but very strict on the perks. Couldn't get anything from her....response time is pretty fast so far. Hmm however sometimes I feel i can't click with her very well though...
How do u find her?

Hi Ryu

I agree that she's friendly and she responds very fast. Regarding the perks, I think it might be a Four Seasons policy. But I managed to get a very small perk from her....

Personally, I get along fine with her. She seems quite accommodating towards HTB and I. Will email me to say there is a special theme at the hotel, then invite us to go down to take a look. Another instance is the dog issue, whereby she was like 'No problem' when we want our dog to be present on our wedding day.

So, when is your AD?

Hi Jac,
I'm having lunch on 14sept08 at the cresent ballroom. How about you? Ya I think the perks are a 4 season policy ^^. Ginny did ask me to go down once to see the strawberry icebar, very tempting haha still deciding if i should top up for that lol.

Hi ryu,
I'm having solemnisation followed by high tea buffet on 28th Dec at crescent ballroom.
I've seen the strawberry bar before, and it really stands out. HTB is firm on getting the strawberry bar.
One of the thing I like abt Four Seasons is that each ballroom has its own private foyer. Once, we saw a wedding set up whereby the couple treated it as a gallery and placed lots of their photos in big frames set up on easels. So their guests will be moving around the gallery to look at their wedding shots. Rather unique.

Anyway, told Ginny to keep us updated on any weddings with special themes and we'll go down to take a look.

Anyone else with Ginny as their co-ordinator?

Hi Jac,
I'm also having solemnisation and tea ceremony (depending on the time available) followed by lunch.
Ya I was also attracted by the foyer, very private. I actually find it better than the main ballroom. As my HTB is overseas I have to make the arrangements myself. Still pondering about what table cloth and chair color I should get lol.
I also told Ginny to keep me informed if they have any upcoming bridal shows or open house in 2008 so that I can go down to have a look at the different set up combinations.

Hi Jac and Ryu,

I am also considering using Four Seasons for my wedding location. I am currently talking to Ginny as well. Mind dropping me an email at [email protected] ? would like to chat with u guys...

Hi ryu,
Must be tough to have to handle the arrangements yourself. When will your HTB to back to share the workload?

Do you have to decide on the tablecloth and chair colour at this time already? Ginny said its best to do it around 6 months before the actual day. So we're going to take her advice, otherwise too many things to deal with.

Keep us updated on any interesting and nice set ups if you see any!

Hi Jac,
My HTB will only be back about 1 week before the AD lol....
As for the chair color and table cloth, ya Ginny advised to decide on a later date, at least until i pick my WG so that i don't end up matching the tablecloth lol. Most prob will check with Ginny when they will have a open house next year so that I can go down and have a look la.

Hi Fruitchick...

thanks for yr prompt respond. we are planning at feb 2009... only 12 tables...we are now in sydney..so a bit hard to find information till we got time to visit spore.

Do u mind i ask...which menu u choose (deluxe, superior or Jian Nan Chun)..? I got the quoted price of 2008...and being advised to add another SGD30 for 2009.

What theme are u choosing? so far..are u happy with their service? Is Crescent ballroom got high ceiling?

How is the food? sorry that i have asked too much questions.

cheers,
fanfan

Hi Fanfan,

Who is your co-ordinator? Mine in Mun Hoong and I find him pretty helpful and quick response time over emails too. I am overseas as well and did not see the ballroom when I put my deposit down. My parents went there, saw the place, met him and was happy with what they saw so they placed the deposit.

I haven't tried the food yet but as you would have read in the earlier posts by other people, their food & service is very good. I have not decided which menu to choose.

Crescent Ballroom has high ceiling, no pillars. I went back to Singapore a few months back and so visited 4 Seasons to take a look at the rooms. Their hotel rooms are very luxurious and big, which is a plus. Also, there is a private foyer area for the Crescent Ballroom so it will be very exclusive for you & your guests.

I haven't decided on the theme yet as I wanted to do that after I've decided on the colour of my dress - don't want to blend into the tablecloth! Heeeee.....

Hi Fruitchick

I always email Eugene Chan when i need information so I really have not get any co-ordinator...as 4seasons has not opened 2009 reservation yet.

So u are having the same condition with me then... where are you? OZ?

Thanks so much for your brief explanation..it really helps me so much....It gives me a release to put the deposit without need to fly back to have a look which save the transportation fee... (planning to go to spore when we decided the date, booking and wedding gown package at the same time when we visit spore later on...therefore..i really need to get lots of information at this point of time)

For me...choosing 4seasons basically it provides small number of tables 12-15 tables...and we do not have much friends in spore as our back ground is chinese Indonesian. Besides...i just want something simple and elegant ;) Don't really like too crowded function.... he..he..

Since you are in oveseas...will u get your wedding gown from the place that u live or you will deal with Bridal boutique from spore?

so excited got someone could have same experience with me..... talk to u later...

cheers,

Hi Fruitchicks,

Is me again.... i just get a image sent by Eugene the Crescent ball room and the foyer as well. do u want it? if yes..pls advise....

fanny

Hi Fanny, I don't need the image. Thanks for the offer. If you're still scouting around for somewhere, you can also consider Intercontinental. They also cater for small groups. I was also considering them for my reception.

It is very difficult to plan a wedding when you are overseas as I have been doing my research on this forum. I am also lucky to have got hold of some local wedding magazines and that helpes too as it gives you an idea on what you can get in Singapore and what the "trends" are.

I am not going to book a wedding gown package as I find that its very costly and includes things that I don't need. Also, I have heard too many "horror" stories about other brides who ended up paying a lot more money for their photos as their package only includes the minimum. It may sound more work to DIY yourself but in actual fact, its not that bad as you don't end up spending a fortune and you only source for what you need.

my AD in on 23rdFeb. Also chose cresecent ballroom because of the private foyer and high ceiling. Love the ballroom to bitz. My coordinator is also Ginny. She is fast and customer oriented. However, totally no extra perks. I wonder is it my corrdinator only or issit the hotel. As I can't even have a few extra parking coupon.
My dinner is only about 3 months away. Haven't choseny any theme or prep anyting yet for the hotel dinner.

Hu PlainGal,
Ginny said that the parking coupons available will depend on the actual number of guests on that day. Eg, even though you confirmed 120 guests but 130 guests turned up, the parking coupon will be for the 20% of the 130 guests.

I wonder if Ginny will kindly provide a few more parking coupons on the actual day should the 20% be insufficient, jus to make our day....like an impromptu thing
