Hi girls

so how many bottles of wine and hard liquor did u manage to get for corkage waiver? or did u end up buying all the beer and wine from FS? the price of liquor on their wine list seems very steep and corkage fee is very high. I'm still considering whether to sign up with them althought i love the ballroom alot.

Hi all,
I've signed up for FS ballroom for next year.
We love ballroom since we wanted a smaller and cosier feel(25-30 tables). Most hotels offer seminar rooms for such sizes.
They are very strict with the wine and beer. No waiver or no free bottles of wine either.
So far, no one seems to be successful at negotiating a waiver for their wines. Whoever does so, can try posting here? All the best.

knock knock, any FS brides here?

Got a question here and wondering if anybody can help...are flower petals allowed to be thrown in the ballroom, for the 1st march-in?

hi jul,
if i remember correctly, i think lewis ever mentioned that no fresh flowers allowed. this is to avoid staining their carpet. it's better to double check again.

Hi chinoiserie & tansy,

thks for info! i'll hav to think of something for my flower boy/gal then.. how about bubbles? Thought bubbles cast quite a romantic feel to it, though these days they dun seem to be common...

Hi all FS BTBs,

Anyone having Georgette as coordinator? She nice? Have not signed up but should be going down this week to meet her. Are they really that strict on the perks...FH is particularly concerned with the high corkage fees charged..Anyone managed to get waiver of corkage fees/free bottle of wine per table etc?

Hi Shann,

Georgette is nice! I met her twice, and she's prompt in follow-ups. Am sure you'll be assured by her service. I signed the contract with FS last week.

Hi Shann,
i agree with Sephira, Georgette is excellent, great lady to work with and she's pretty flexible with my requests. She's also very experienced , and gives proactive advice to us (certainly a plus-point)

Hi dreamgal
what sort of requests are u referring to? I haven't signed up with FS. still deciding.. i thought they are known to be inflexible with everyone's request regarding corkage waiver/wine/beer. u must be very lucky.

Hi Sephira and dreamsgal,

Thanks for sharing! Called her last night..she sounded nice..will be meeting her next week. Hope she will allow us to waive some corkage fees..because I am quite keen on FS. Are you gals doing wedding lunch or dinner?

Hi Shann,

No prob. I guess despite the stickiness with the corkage waiver, there are other perks that make up for it, for instance, the two night stay (instead of the usual one). Also, I'd think that it's their service that makes FS stand out from other hotels/venues. Btw, I'm doing dinner, on a Sat.

Hello Shann,
I agree with you, service level is definitely important when we are planning for the most memorable event in our lives. I'm doing dinner at Windows East as we prefer a small and intimate affair with family & relatives. We both love the cosy place the moment we saw it. Dint ask for corkage waiver as it's kind of irrelevant for a small event. But we were given more comp parking passes for the guests which is great. Look forward to that day!

Hi gals,
Did you negotiate the "freebies" eg more comp parking passes upfront and have it stated in the contract? Or can such things eg changing dishes in the menu be discussed nearer the wedding date?
Would appreciate the advice!

Hi!!

I just signed up with Four Seasons last week for my wedding banquet next year June. Was wondering if anyone could give me advice on the wine at four seasons. Saw the wine list and quite expensive. I was considering getting the in house red wine. Is the house red wine good enough? can anybody share their experience? Thank you!!!

Hi all!

Just want to find out more about the crescent ballroom. Is the decor as good as the one in the grand ballroom. Also, its meant for around 160 pp.. but I'm thinking, if the no. of guest increases to 200, will it still fit?

What about the sound system and projectors, are they included in the package and if not, how much do they cost?

Does any1 have any photos taken in the crescent ballroom to share?

Also, what's the price of the table if its a lunch instead of dinner?

Thanks!=)

Cheers

Hi there,

How many weeding coordinators are there for four seasons? Saw in the thread that Georgette is really popular. Are there other wedding coordinators beside her? Btw what is her title?

I think there are about 4-5 maybe, the last time I enquire for a wedding package I had eugene as the catering sales manager. Have not speak to georgette personally.

Chinoiserie, u met up with Lewis to discuss the details already? Georgette have yet to call me to go down for a discussion. I'll be using the main ballroom coz I'll be expecting 250 to 300 guest.

Kenshare, i heard you can mix and match the different basic colours eg, maroon, gold, black, peach, white...

Joycelyn, I have not met Lewis to discuss but called him a few weeks ago cos I need to finalise my stationeries as I have a theme for my wedding... I understand from Lewis that they will not call us so early. It's normally about a month before, or about the time when we go for the food tasting. I am more kiasu because I need to check out what they have for the linens and napkins and also the invitation cards... I am not using their invitation cards. I am getting my own.

Hi BTBs, may i know if any of you gals use the foyer for solemnization and tea ceremony instead of holding it at other room? Dunno whether it's feasible...

Hi all,
i have actually sign up a wedding luncheon with CS on 23feb08. They are stingy with their perks le....Can I ask them to prep the red date tea? Is it complimentary? I also having tea ceremony at the foyer. As for the car passes, how much more can you ask for? They only give 20% of the attendance.DId they state the extra car park pass in the contract?

jlynn

New Member
Hi cat_quek, will you be having your solemnization at FS as well? I was thinking is it feasible to hold both the solemnization and tea ceremony at the foyer...

To pay 600 bucks for the usage of paterson room or 2000 for the windows east/west for less than 30mins dun seem to go down well with us...

Hi plaingal,

according to my coordinator, extra carpark passes will be charged as per normal at 5bucks each. i managed to increase it to 25 or 30%. signed up last yr for dec07 wedding, cant rem it very clearly. anyway, anyone heard or seen the strawberry ice carving before? my wc recommended it. is it worth paying 1000 bucks for it?

cat_quek

Jlynn,
I think they dont allow to hold solemnisation in the foyer coz foyer is more casual area. Tea ceremony is more casual and faster so they allow u to make use of foyer. When are you holding your dinner? Did you managed to get extra car park as well?

Dawn, Yup they told me abt the FS bridal show but I didnt wan to go as I have already decide on the banquet and BS ma. You gg? Have you sign up with FS?

BS,
Who is your coordinator? Yup she tol dme abyting more than 20% is chg $5. I tght that is quite ex. You holding dinner or luncheon? How many tables are you having?of coz not worth paying$1000 for carving unless you have lots of extra cash

Hi Plaingal, thanks for your reply. I will be having a luncheon in Sept next year. Currently, I'm waiting for them to come up with a new proposal as I do not intend to include shark fins in the menu and they suggested something like double-boiled abalone instead. How long does your wedding coordinator usually take to revert?

cat_quek

jlynn,
Very fast.usually the same day. Who is your coordinator? Was your corrdinator response fast?

Did they ask for any extra perks and they agree to it? Or were they very stingry as well?

jlynn

Plaingal,
We've just realised that they revert to us on the same day, but it was sent to my FH's email instead. We have not reached the perks part yet coz i may need to reconfirm my wedding date now as there will be an additional $20 per table for weddings from july to december 2008. Dunno whether the surcharge of $20 per table is in anyway related to the upcoming F1 race... Btw, my coordinator is Elaine.

Hi jilynn,
Just curious, you mentioned the price for the july-dec08 has increased by $20 per table? Have they also added perks?Any idea what are the perks offered for the wedding show? We've booked our dinner for 2008 recently.Just curious to find out what the perks offered during the show are. =)
Anyway,if you really like the ballroom, should go ahead and book it.Luv the ballroom and the service provided.

Hi Plaingal,
They told u about the show even though you've booked the banquet? We weren't informed. Will be good to go and have a look at how the deco is done.Maybe I should ask.

Hi SnS, we have not reached the negotiation part yet and everything is still kinda unconfirmed. I understand that the perks that will be offered during the bridal show are for weddings held before 30 April 2008.
