hihi all,
I myself personally saw Mrs Chia conducting my frend's ROM. Thus, i was quite determined to have her as my Solemniser. However, she is not that professional as it seems. She played me out, not once, but twice.

Here's my story.

My ROM cum AD is on 20.09. Knowing its a very popular date, I started to hunt for JPs since March. And it was in Mar 09 that she agreed to conduct my ROM for me at 5.30pm. She also mentioned tat she needs someone to send her to and fro from her hse, to my venue, and back, which i agreed to.

In April, she called me and told me that she might not be able to do it for me, as she has too many requests, and mine was not in town. This is the first time she broke her promise. However, I was quite sure that I wnated her to conduct my ROM for me. So after a few calls, and a few checks on her side, she told me that mine will be the last she's going to do and that she would gladly do it for me.

3 days ago, she called me again. This time, she said that I am going to be her first couple for the day, and her next couple is at 6pm, so she cant do mine. I was both shocked and angry with her. How can she promise another couple to do it at 6pm when she has already promised to do mine at 5.30pm? Anyone can tell that there is simpky nt enough time. And, she didnt sound very apologetic about it. She just told me that there is ample time to find another JP and said bye to me.

OMG! Though this is voluntary, i still didnt xpect this coming from a JP lor...Should have better time management ma. She doesnt even value our ROM lor..im utterly disappointed and disgusted with her.

So, just a word of caution. If you really want her to conduct your ROM, be sure to confirm with her again and again..czuse she can just play you out anytime. Also, its better to have a backup in case anything happens...

Just my 2 cents worth.

hi there, mrs chia did the same thing to me. a day after promising to solemnise my wedding at 6pm, she called to say she has another at 6.30pm. so i had to either do mine earlier, or do it later. she kept emphasizing, 12 minutes is all it takes. but i don't want a rushed ceremony - i wanted readings done, i wanted to say my vows slowly, i don't want to have to be thinking, 12 minutes! 6.30pm! she's gotta go! during my ceremony.

and btw, i think her nice-ness is very contrived. she's actually quite forceful as a personality.

Here's my story abt mrs chia.. I only knew recently that the JP who spoilt my ROM day is this famous mrs chia.. I'm supposed to be using the outdoor venue of a restaurant, but the audio failed.. Therefore we were forced to use the indoor venue of the same restaurant that she would be using to solemnise for another couple.. And we were placed ahead of her couple. I agree that we took up her time because she needed to wait for our solemnisation to end before she could start hers.. In the end the first thing that she said on stage was to make a very sarcastic remarks to imply that we took up her time.. It might just be a very careless or a remarks that she didn't even think before she said it.. However as a JP, she should never be saying such things that will spolit others' big day.. Everyone is getting married, not only her couples are..
I came to know that she always have couples solemnising back to back.. More than 10 over couples within a few hours span.. It's no wonder that she cannot even wait for others' solemnisation to end.. Because we are holding up her precious time to solemnise her back to back couples.. Perhaps she should plan her time to have buffer.. Not all things can just go as planned..

gosh.. its really quite tough to get a good JP nowadays? ive been reading about some and it seems that the JP either plays you out or are not friendly.. how do we ensure that our event will go thru smoothly without any hiccups?

I cannot believe this happen to me. That is so super unfortunate. Our wedding is now just 2 months away and we wanted to e-file last month but Mrs Chia for heaven sake mention it was too early. We booked her so super early since start of the year. NOW, TODAY, she inform us that 'due to unforseen circumstances' she is unable to solemnise our ceremony!!!!

Just like this? Without any reccomendations of handover us to another JP or what. God man!!!

She still call us many times to recfm our date time venue etc. And she seem so rush on our actual date asking can we shift our time here and there etc. God, seriously how to change the time?

Can anyone reccomend us a JP that won't tuan us de?

Now our date is so near!! And beside worsening the problem is ROM need 21days of filing of notice. So I am left with a few days to find a good JP.

Such last min how to find?

Prof Yu is very good but he is overseas on my date
Mr Yeo is also very good but is fully booked.
Now really praying Dr Phua can make it.

If not I die.

We just want a humorous JP, punctual, wont rush us please, keep the audience seated w/o naughty kids running around, babies cryin etc. So naturally Mrs Chia is my 1st choice. Now, i cannot even booked my 2nd, and 4th choice.
