Hi schnauzie,

Thanks.
the drive to EZE is easy and you can park by the side on your way up. Many cars just park whenever they see a space even if it isn't a parking lot.

There is a carpark when you enter into EZe. Certain timing are free. you can check out the machine slot to know whether u need to pay.

Yes worth visiting. It is just 20mins drive away from NICE so you can easily spend half a day there. I really like NICE. Have you found a hotel? would like to recommend Hotel Massenet, just 2 blocks away to the promenade and the sea.

Dear Kwan,

Looks like you had a great trip. I'm impressed that you even visited Grenoble and Chamonix in the end. How was your trip overall? How was the flight on Qatar airways? Would you fly with them again?

Thanks.

Hope you have seen our France pictures too; inspire you to go again.

Yeah, i visited a friend in Grenoble and we went to Chamonix together.
I love Paris & Switzerland overall especially the excursion to Jungfraujoch..

My Qatar flight was very tiring. The transit time was extremly long (6hours). But luckily we got the priority pass so that we used the lounge to take shower.
The service was bad. I will never take Qatar again. Few of us got problem with our personal tv.. The crew just said 'ok' but no follow up. Until 2 hours without entertainment, we started to get annoyed and called the supervisor or whoever with high rank crew to demand them to move us to other seats. Only by then, they started to do something. Really spoil our mood..

Dear Kwan,

Thank you for sharing your experiences on Qatar. When we took it in 2005, we had a trouble-free flight. I guess that's the risk you take with cheaper airlines. Looks like we're going to continue sticking with SQ... and perhaps try out Air France...

Hi Raymond,

Yes.. Qatar was one of the cheapest for SIN-FRA & ROM-SIN($1350). I could have taken Thai Airways but we wanted to have an experience to fly to Doha.

Whereas for other airline like KLM or Air France could be $300 more expensive that time i booked.

Dear Kwan,

How is the Doha airport like now? The last time we went in 2005, it was small, cramped, and there was not enough seats; we ended up sitting in a fast food place. The duty free shop prices were also completely uninteresting.

Hi Raymond,

The first floor has 1 duty free shop that sells parfumes, some electronic stuff, chocs.. nothing much..

Upstairs.. in front of each gate.. they have few rows of seats. There are 2 free internet section, A&W fastfood, food canteen, and lounge.

Luckily we had applied a Priority Pass by Citibank Premiermiles.. so end up we just stayed in the Orix Lounge (slept in sofa, took shower, and had free snacks).

Dear Kwan,

Thank you for the information. Looks like there's not much difference; we'll avoid Qatar for the time being.

Hi All,
Need some advice on cheap accommodation in Paris. After reading through different forums, I have more or less decided on the Ibis chain of hotels. Found Ibis Paris Gare de Lyon Ledru Rollin at 59E per night which is the Happy 30 rate. Wondering any one can provide any advice? Is the location a good base to explore Paris? The Paris centres hotels are way too expensive.

Hi,

Gare de Lyon is a gd location. It is a bus/train interchange. Can take train to Disneyland and bus to airport. We also booked a hotel nearby there but not Ibis. If you need any feedback on the hotel you may search from http://www.tripadvisor.com/ got lots of review at the hotel and some about the location. Btw, 59E is damned cheap. When are u going?

Dear Rainette,

Trains to Paris centre is easy. remember to buy a carnet of tickets (set of 10) and you can take train to all the tourist site which is mostly in city centre. Cost around 11 Euro.

At 59E it is a great deal. However don't expect too much from it and usually hotel room in Paris is small.

Hi, for those who have been to Paris, can you advise what activities can we do after 7pm? Notice most of the shops, museums are close after 6 or 7pm...
Thanks.

7pm is dinner time!!
happy.gif
Go to a nice cafe for drinks then head to a resturant for dinner. Enjoy the outdoor dining, esp if you are there during the summer! The French can spend hours having dinner

Or you could head to the opera too?
