Hi!

Anyone tried eyelashes extension before?
Thought of doing it for my wedding AD.
Find the eye lashes that my MUA put for me during PS looks fake.

Read in the latest issue to Her World Brides that Browhaus – Lash in Bloom technique and is quite interested. Fake lashes are glued 1 strand at 1 time on the existing top lashes.
Anyone had did their eyelashes extension at Browhaus before?

Anyone who had done eyelashes extension before can share with me her experience?
How long can it last?
After doing the eyelashes extension, will there be any problem wearing contact lenses or spectacles?

Thanks in advance!

Hi baby,

I've tried eyelash extensions before but not at browhaus. Basically there are 2 types of eyelash extensions.

(1) They stick individual lashes on top on your existing lashes. Therefore, you need to have some base lashes for these extensions to stick on too.

(2) Another type are clumps of eye lashes sticking onto the base of your eyelids directly. This method is good is you have sparse eye lashes. The overall effect is comparative to those fake eyelashes that makeup artists use.

I've tried (2), the effect is wonderful! It's very beautiful.

Pertaining to your questions, my lashes only lasted about 2 weeks. Can stil wear contact lens and glasses, except that while wearing glasses, can feel the lashes hit touch the lens of the glasses.

Hi noxy,

does it looks fake?

don't know if i should do for my actual wedding day or not.
any suggestion? is eyelash extension better or get the MUA to fix a fake lash for me on the actual day?

Hi Baby, it looks damn long, and it makes me feel damn vain loh. Personally I don't find it fake. They have different eyelash extension lengths. They will do it according to what you want.

My personal advice to you is, try out the eye lash extension way before your wedding. After doing it, if you are comfortable with it, then do it again for your wedding.

I find it rather risky to do it the first time just for the wedding reason being:

- You don't know if you are sensitive to the glue that they are using. Remember, the glue will be in close proximity to the eyes, what if your eyes get irritated and red?

-Eyelash extensions are a little 'hard' on the first 2 days. After which, the glue will sorta soften and you will not even feel the glue. It takes time to get used to.

When I did my eyelash extensions, I don't even know how to wash my face. I was so afraid of washing off the lashes! I need to be extra careful with my lashes.

By the way, the above experience is only for eyelash extension number (2) not those lash on lash.

Hi Melly,

It's good for people with sparse eyelashes but I do need to highlight the cons of it though.

-they stick directly onto the eye lid (where the eyelash grows out from), so you will experience some form of discomfort when they stick.

-as mentioned previously, the glue will be hard on the first 2 days, i was not used to it. Infact, i found it very uncomfortable. After those 2 days, I got more used to it and I loved the look of it.

-The lashes will come off easily when you rub it. Oil from our skin will weaken the glue. So you must refrain from rubbing your eyes.

-To remove all the fake lashes, you need to go back to the shop to get them to remove for you.

-This cannot be done for the long term, meaning you cannot keep sticking on the eyelash. The glue will harm your skin on the eye lid. They recommended me to rest a few months if I want to do it again.

Ok, here comes the pros

-as mentioned, good for people with sparse eyelashes

-looks very beautiful, different lengths to choose from.

-no need for mascara anymore

Melly, i will pm you the place i go

anyone can advise on the different effects or eyelash perming and eyelash extension? which one looks more natural n less damaging to eye lash? tks

noxy

noscon, i did eyelash perming before as well. basically, they apply those kinda perming chemical directly onto your eyelash. it only makes your natural lashes curl naturally without thickening. eyelash extensions help to thicken and make it more dramatic.

if you are looking more for natural, definitely eye lash perming is the one.

Basically both are just as damaging to the eye lash and they didn't recommend doing it continously. Need to let the eyelash, the skin around the eye area rest before you re-perm.

Hi baby, the eyelash extensions by itself are very dramatic! They are long and thick. (for eyelash extension (2) not lash on lash)

Hmmm, your wedding is just next week....those one day stick ons are very uncomfortable.

I can only suggest that you go try out the eye lash extensions at least about 3 to 4 days before your wedding. When the date draws nearer, you can do touch up to the eye lash extensions. If you are still not comfortable, you can remove your eye lash extensions and revert to your MUA's fake lashes on the actual day.

But eye lash extensions are not cheap

I will email you the place I go to tonight k?

Hi noxy,

Thanks for your reply.
Read in the latest mag, Browhaus charges S$120 for first 70 lashes.

In fact my eyelashes are not really that short.
Just that abit longer will be better.
Duno which to choose (1) or (2).

Still considering!

Hi Baby,

No problem, glad to share whatever experience that I have. Sorry that I can't share with you any experience on lash on lash technique.

The only in-direct experience I ever had for lash on lash technique was from a friend of mine. She went for the lash on lash extension at dunnoe what place (definitely not browhaus, cos' she paid like $60). After showering, she noticed her eyelash extensions dropped out just after one day. So the only advice I have is go for the reputable ones, at least once the lashes drop out, you can go back and get them to stick it back for you.

My only suggestion for you is, go down to the shops and ask to see the extensions, talk to the person doing it. Look at pictures of completed eyelash extensions. It will speed up your decision process. Hope this helps.

noscon, I don't dare to recommend, cos' I only did it at one place. So there are no references for me to compare. Can't remember how long did it last for mine, should be more than a month.

baby, sorry for the delay k? can't access my personal emails at work.

Hihi..

i have been doing eyelashes extension since beginning of this year. It is very convenient for me as i do not need to put on mascara and eyeliner before i rush off for work.
I done mine with a lady that doing this service at home and her charges very reasonable (as far as i have checked outside). I wouldn't have try if the price too high.
If anyone of you interested, you could email me [email protected] for the contact no.

i did my eyelash extension @ a highly recommended shop in Far East. yeah it luk great initially. when it is abt 2 drop off, i can feel e fake lash poking into my eye.
removal is tedious, painful & they even cut off my lashes!
personally prefer eyelash perming. its nt so uncomfortable overall. but nt 2 b done often as it might cause breakage.

Hi Ladies,

I normally do my eyelash extensions with a home based professional & so far find that she always does a good job!She doesnt rush into the job, therefore produces the type of lashes that i want.her charges are also very reasonable.& she also goes to your place to do it,under request with just adding a transport fee.very convenient right! So if any of u interested & wants me to share, can PM me or email me [email protected] for the contacts.think she does eyelash perming & other services too.

Hi pYiP and Zinky,

Pls email me the contact. Thanks . [email protected]

- How long can the fake lashes last?
- Does the eyelash extension caused your own natural lash to drop or break ?
- How much is the charges ? Does it include FOC touch-ups?
