E-filling...Enquries

hey all..
would appreciate some advises on the following matter;

My sis and her HTB had just e-filed for their solemnisation (24th May 2007) to be hold in ROM itself. And in the instruction list; they are required to go down for VD/SD during the period of 19th- 21th mar..
1)Any idea of to whether can they go down on other days?
2)She will be turning 20yr old only later this yr, so she need to print the parent consent form and bring it on the VD/SD date?
3)Any other forms or details to look out for?

Need some clarification on submission of witnesses ICs.

Must we submit real ICs or copies of ICs of our witnesses on the day of document verification at ROM? Been reading some discussion threads in this forum but still am unclear. ROM website is also not thorough.

And on the day of ROM, the witnesses just produce their ICs for verification. Correct?

I showed them real ICs during verification. If in doubt, you can call up the office to ask.

I used photocopies when i go collect my cert...

but used original ic during actual ROM nite..

Can anyone advice me? If i am doing my outdoor solemnization on Dec 1, i can file anytime in Oct right, it's still save?

Hi Andrea,

Yes, you can e-file anytime in Oct if your solemnization takes place outside ROM centre.

Your earliest date to e-file will be 1st sep and latest by 9 Nov.

Another question - on the date of verification, must my fiancee & myself both go down to rom or is it ok if 1 of us go only with the docs & ics?

If you have got all the details, why don't you e-file now? At least, 1 task is done.

I think so. Both of you must go down. As for witness, just need to bring their documents will do. I am not so sure too because my appoinment will be 3 weeks later. But that is what I was told.

Luvz is right. Both must go down to collect cos need to take the oath (statutory declaration). only need to bring down original ics of witnesses and to bring down original copy of consent form signed by the solmenizer.

Gonna do my E-file soon, am i right to say we need the JP consent form before doing the e-file? How do we get it from him?? by fax or in person?? The ROM instruction is not that clear. Pls help.

Hi rl-ry, you just need the original copy to be signed by the JP when you go to ROM office to collect docs/stat declaration. When you e-file, you only need the JP's license number.What I did was to call JP up to get license number, then e-filed. Then met up with JP befeore ROM date to get him to sign it. Some kia su couples prefer to meet up with JP to sign first, then e-file, in case, after we e-file, JP say cannot make it on ROM day.... then trouble.. cos need to amend e-filing.

Hi ladies, my JP called me last nite to say he can't solemnise my ROM but I've registered his name in the ROM, if want change the solemniser details, must i pay for it? =(

Hi Meiyu, you may want to call ROM directly to check. If they say must pay, then I suggest you show them the signed consent form (signed by your JP) and tell them that it's not your fault and see if they will waive it for you.
