Came across the auntie at gown forestry, she's super good in selling but we walked off. Can you share why did you choose them?

I chose them because i love their gowns and they are very flexible with changing things I do not want into things I want, such as photos. I know this is ironic; she is very good with her sales talk, yet able to make me feel very assured.

After signing up for 8 months, I do pop by their shop every now and then to look at their gowns without appointment. Her son and herself will still welcome me and answer any questions that I may have. Or, they may even show me their latest work.

My Wedding is 2 Dec 17. Going to book my wedding venue soon! Secured pre wedding as well!

What other wedding plans do all of you have in mind?

Any photo booth?
Any roving photographers?
Any videographer?
Are you using the wedding invitation cards provided by the hotel or are you going to customize?

Hi @martially! Congratulations to you! :)

Mind sharing your bridal shop for your pre wedding?
I've booked with my dream wedding during BOWS for pre wedding shoot at Korea with Chungdam Studio. A bit pricier than others for Korea pre wedding shoot. But we fell in love with my dream wedding gowns n suits and really like their Chungdam studio so don't mind paying a bit more for their quality.

Photo booth: still thinking whether to have one. I rather have a AD photographers n videographers capturing the moments than having static photo booth which means additional cost.

Raving photographers: yes I'm gonna have one AD raving photographer so not having photo booth.

Videographer: yes for capturing the day highlights such as gate crashing n tea ceremony so that the video can be played during my wedding dinner itself.

Wedding invitations: initially we wanted to customize but then realized it's not cost effective. Cost per card minimum 2-2.50 depends on design and paper material. Assuming you have 250-300 guests, that will means printing 180-200 cards. If you customize yourself it will be an additional 450-500. Honestly speaking, after most of the guests received the wedding invitation card, they will just take note of the date and location and then throw the wedding invitation card to one side. So a bit wasteful to spend extra to customize it. If you use hotel invitations cards, the most you spend 50-80 for printing.

Yeah going April next year so hopefully can catch the cherry blossom there!

We've soft booked Four seasons for our banquet so most likely having it there. Going to confirm with them soon!

How's everyone's planning process? I do not know what else do I need to start preparing for..

It will be so nice to be able to capture the cherry blossom!

Mind sharing the cost per table with me too?

Initially, I thought I was very kiasu by booking my venue more than 1 year before the wedding. Then from this forum, I realised many BTBs also booked their venue this early!

I felt the same way too! But it seems like if we do not "chope" the wedding venue early, we would not have gotten our ideal venue and dates!

I haven't. I can't seem to get the hotels that I like. Which hotel you take? Lunch or dinner?

Grand Hyatt is having a wedding show next month and there is 15% off wedding lunch banquet. So it works out to be $1388 per table. You may want to consider. Their perks look reasonable too.

Which hotels are you looking at? Intending to do a lunch or dinner?

I am doing it at Pan Pacific Singapore, Lunch Banquet.

I'm looking at lunch at mandarin orchard. But still waiting for availability.

You may consider Marina Mandarin; it is cheaper than Mandarin Orchard.

It's one of the perks for their upcoming wedding show. You may register with them for their wedding show, and the coordinator will email you regarding the perks and packages. Registration can be done via Singapore Brides. :)

There is an upcoming wedding showcase at Marriott, you may want to consider and have a look too. :)

I've seen it already. But the perks not quite attractive and my bf and I don't really like the ballroom.

It's OK. We've been to 5 or 6 hotels of viewing and we just want to settle within these choices. Haha. Although not a lot of viewing as compared to other brides but we're very tired already. But thanks anyway! Will update you when I sign with any of the hotels

You may want to refer to the following website for the upcoming wedding shows: http://singaporebrides.com/schedule.php

Thanks!! I've been looking at this website too! ✋✋

@basiclove so u have booked your venue at pan pac? how much per table? My gf previously booked hers with White Link and unfortunately she have bad experience. So she don't recommend me to go for white link. I hope yours turn out to be fine. Because i have been seeing mixed reviews for all BS. For me, as long as u like their gowns and service, it should not be too bad.

I totally agree that guys tend to take the back seat because they do not see the urgency to book so early.

Yes, I booked my venue with Pan Pacific. I am doing a Wedding Lunch, it's at $1,188++.

So far I am all good with White Link, the coordinator that served us was really good in explaining to us the details and not pushy at all.
Overall, their service for now is really good. And you are right, there are many mixed reviews for all BS, so it's usually whether do you like the gown that the BS offer.

Yeah, women are more meticulous and anxious about all these big things ;)
Hmm not alot of hotels offer below 1k, which are the hotels u refering to?

You may want to refer to this link for the list of banquet venues and the cost. You may find some that costs <$1k for banquet lunch. It'll be tricky if you plan to do a banquet dinner though..

Hotel Genting Jurong is a good pick too!
