We are Darren and Jade Photography, a fun loving, always-camera-carrying husband and wife wedding photography team now based in Singapore. We've been shooting weddings since 2013 and treat every wedding as if it was our own.

We've also been recognised for our wedding photography, having won 10 awards from the Wedding & Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), the most prestigious New York-based association of wedding photographers!

We feel truly blessed to be able to work with the couples that we do, and never forget that we are here because of them.

We finally made it back to the Bay for 2 nights after a 4 hour drive from Clovis! But the thing is the weather forecast for our second day was RAINING so after arriving and checking into our Airbnb at 2pm we went on an absolute marathon of the city, hitting up every single one of our photo spots in one day! Great thing about SF though, sunset isn't til like 8pm! Loved this crazy view of the SF skyline, we absolutely in love with this city and it makes me miss life out here!

So we finally left LA and made the 4 hour drive over to see the grand sequoia trees (largest trees in the world in case you didn't know) and I was absolutely DYING to shoot there when there was a sudden snowstorm warning and we were greeted by hail after driving in 17 miles from the park entrance (which took another hour since the roads are all so windy)! My first time experiencing snow - it was soooo amazing! - and it was good times with Jade running up and down the trails looking for some black bears and mountain lions to play with!

So we're finally all done wrapping up our edits from our Melbourne adventures and super hyped to share what we've been working on! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Spent a day out at Cape Schank with the amazing @jiawenlee_ and Joshua - it was forecast for cloudy weather but we were super fortunate to have the sun break for some epic lighting over this gorgeous landscape! Super fun hanging out with these two, Jia Wen definitely picked the right guy because Joshua can REALLY cook so we headed out to nearby Sorrento and loaded up on a ton of fresh seafood which we feasted on for dinner after a rewarding shoot together! After all this time we're so glad to have found a couple who wanted to shoot at Cape Schanck with us in @jiawenlee_ and Joshua! Definitely now one of our favorite spots to shoot at in Melbourne - on one side you get the lighthouse and the epic boardwalk, and the other, Pulpit Rock, where I've been dying to get a shot at basically forever!

A pretty tough spot to shoot at, with tons of slippery rocks to navigate, some fairly large cesspools you have to find a pathway around, and incoming waves of varying strength that can hit you suddenly (which I personally experienced on this shoot when my poor Timberlands got soaked through for the millionth time by seawater), as well as coastal wind to make it all the more difficult!

But certainly rewarding to have gotten this frame with the waves rippling right through across the entire shot! Loved their matching outfits too, complementing each other so well! But most of all, having fun and high spirits all around with these two which made it such a blast to shoot there!

Okay time to get creative! We knew we had an epic crazy fun bridal party to work with and just the funnestestest couple in @mayy_ng and @iggyseah so we had to do something a little bit different from the usual! We had our entire bridal party shoot in one hallway at @interconsin and had to think hard to make it work but so glad we pulled it off!

Right before we made this shot, we asked everyone...are you guys ok all lying down on the carpet and trying something that's a bit out of the norm? And we got back a resounding oh yeah let's do it! So away we went giving everyone a different pose and spot on this massive carpet for the ultimate human flatlay haha!!! Loved the result and super grateful to everyone that made this one happen!

The team spirit has been crazy amazing with sweet vibes all around and so much fun and adventure! Totally our kind of shoot and we’re so grateful to them for their boundless energy, let’s go attitude, and letting us experience this with them! And most of all, opening up to us and being real with us has allowed us to capture some truly genuine and memorable moments!

Can’t believe we are wrapping up day 8 of our Sumba prewedding shoot today! We're so blessed to have experienced friendship, fellowship, teamwork and above all be surrounded by God's beautiful creations ⛰ throughout this journey!

Wedding season heats up this weekend with nonstop shoots through year end every single weekend and our team will be nonstop busy doing what we love to do! Yup that's us, having a superfeels moment! Sharing the good Friyay vibes with yall and looking forward to an action-packed wedding weekend ahead! Wrapping up this series of us (yayyyyy!) with this one then it's onz to sharing some wedding pics!

Brings back superfun memories in Sumba - our gracious couple @elaineruimin and @gabrielnaa let the team loose for a bunch of fun shots (these two were amazing as they really wanted everyone to have a good time - we really can't believe even now how great they were to shoot with! ) and Elaine decided to do some prewedding photography direction which is (hilariously) how we ended up with this shot, taken by @intoxincant! We told each other what we appreciated about each other and in the midst of it while Jade was looking down, Elaine being ever so mindful shouts out "Look into his eyes!!!!" how's that for some direction lol!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It had been such a fun 9 days shooting nonstop (even our break days we just kept wanting to shoot for fun - yusss the content creation never stops lol - so that's what we did haha) and what a way to cap it off with this stunning sunset ! We wrapped up with a beautiful and soulful moment of prayer together as a team and some last groupfies to remember our fantastic times together in Sumba!

And last but not least thanks to our guide @stevandeberg88 who just kept coming up with more and more magical spots for us to visit the entire time including this one! We had a massive list of locations that just kept growing day by day thanks to his enthusiasm to show us his beautiful country!

We saw this path winding down through the hills that came to an end at the peak with the sun blazing over the skyline, and knew we had to get there! These valleys and hills in Sumba were just so epic and so vast and far ranging in scope, as we walked through we just couldn't help but admire the beauty before us ! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Won't ever forget how through this shoot and literally the entire week @elaineruimin was injured but somehow (and we still don't know how to this day) powered through it all (even through all our water locations which was like SO MANY)! Anyways you should've seen her running down the path which was super steep with rocks flying around everywhere in her wedding dress...then got to the top and @gabrielnaa ran over to join in on the action! Definitely one of our fave shots from our time together, we filled that place up with good vibes! And I think we had a festive meal over at SFC afterwards! All astride our favorite little Sumbanese horse Chocolate!!! (Yusss we named literally every animal we came across in Sumba, we has an affinity for furry friends!) Ok so we had just wrapped up our shoot up in the glorious hills of Sumba with the most epic sunset when suddenly charging out through the end of the canyon came Chocolate, galloping hard because he wanted to be in our shoot! "Made it just in the nick of time," he exclaimed breathlessly as @elaineruimin gleefully hopped on his back (no saddle either!) - we still don't know to this day how or where she mastered the skill of horse riding, but we'll just not ask questions and count ourselves blessed everything worked out! - and off she rode Chocolate through the windy trail as the sun set over the ridge with @gabrielnaa leading the way while mixing in a twirl or two! Really such a nice way to wrap up the first day of our shoot in Sumba which really set the tone for things to come because we knew we it was gonna be special!

You wouldn't believe what happened...we had arrived at 5am at the beautiful Sumbanese savannah known as Puru Kambera - we'd seen stunning pictures of it online when we were planning out our trip, but had no idea what it would be like in real life. We'd gotten there over half an hour early and it was still dark, the grasslands illuminated by the moonlight, and so we were just chatting excitedly about the upcoming shoot... we also noticed some dark shapes silhouetted in the distance, and as the sun started to rise, we realized..we were surrounded by wild horses! It was absolutely crazy, and such a beautiful sight to behold!

We sprang right into action and started shooting, and managed to get some sweet shots of @elaineruimin and @gabrielnaa in this beautiful golden light, running around and having so much fun, not to mention chasing horses too - they are so fast but luckily we managed to snap a shot with them dashing off towards the ocean!
Note: this was also the birthplace of Mr. Groot, the awesome wooden log we would literally end up carrying with us from east Sumba to west Sumba and would share our dear couple's prewedding journey and bring a lot of joy to our shoot! You'll see Gab swinging him around under the tree haha!!! Just thinking of all these awesome memories makes us miss Sumba so much! @darrenandjade @intoxincant @bennytgh @jadeyaumakeup

AAAAA so cuteeee Cotton and Peanut! Cotton being the one with Elaine and Peanut being the one with Gab, that's right yassss we really did name all the animals we came across in Sumba hahaha! We visited a goat farm and had so much fun with our furry friends! Actually it was pretty hilarious the goats were already out grazing but we were so thankful when the farmer said he'd round up all of them in an hour and asked us to come back just so we could shoot with them!

They were so snuggly and fun to shoot with and made our experience that much more different and enjoyable, they'd just run around and we'd scoop them up and cuddle up! But yea the little ones have super long legs as you can see in the pics lol! Feeling super grateful this morning for this one in a lifetime experience with our wonderful team and wonderful couple. Can’t believe we are wrapping up day 8 of our Sumba prewedding shoot today! We're so blessed to have experienced friendship, fellowship, teamwork and above all be surrounded by God's beautiful creations ⛰ throughout this journey!

Wedding season heats up this weekend with nonstop shoots through year end every single weekend and our team will be nonstop busy doing what we love to do! So excited for this time of the year and can't wait to see the joy ahead that it brings to us and our awesome couples. It was good to take some time off to rejuvenate in Bali after our amazing prewedding in Sumba, and we can't wait to share some frames from there with you all! Yup that's us, having a superfeels moment! Sharing the good Friyay vibes with yall and looking forward to an action-packed wedding weekend ahead! Wrapping up this series of us (yayyyyy!) with this one then it's onz to sharing some wedding pics!

Brings back superfun memories in Sumba - our gracious couple @elaineruimin and @gabrielnaa let the team loose for a bunch of fun shots (these two were amazing as they really wanted everyone to have a good time - we really can't believe even now how great they were to shoot with! ) and Elaine decided to do some prewedding photography direction which is (hilariously) how we ended up with this shot, taken by @intoxincant! We told each other what we appreciated about each other and in the midst of it while Jade was looking down, Elaine being ever so mindful shouts out "Look into his eyes!!!!" how's that for some direction lol!!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It had been such a fun 9 days shooting nonstop (even our break days we just kept wanting to shoot for fun - yusss the content creation never stops lol - so that's what we did haha) and what a way to cap it off with this stunning sunset ! We wrapped up with a beautiful and soulful moment of prayer together as a team and some last groupfies to remember our fantastic times together in Sumba!

And last but not least thanks to our guide @stevandeberg88 who just kept coming up with more and more magical spots for us to visit the entire time including this one! We had a massive list of locations that just kept growing day by day thanks to his enthusiasm to show us his beautiful country!

We saw this path winding down through the hills that came to an end at the peak with the sun blazing over the skyline, and knew we had to get there! These valleys and hills in Sumba were just so epic and so vast and far ranging in scope, as we walked through we just couldn't help but admire the beauty before us ! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Won't ever forget how through this shoot and literally the entire week @elaineruimin was injured but somehow (and we still don't know how to this day) powered through it all (even through all our water locations which was like SO MANY)! Anyways you should've seen her running down the path which was super steep with rocks flying around everywhere in her wedding dress...then got to the top and @gabrielnaa ran over to join in on the action! Definitely one of our fave shots from our time together, we filled that place up with good vibes! And I think we had a festive meal over at SFC afterwards! In case you're wondering, Sumba Fried Chicken (yea seriously that's what it was called haha)! @darrenandjade ️ @intoxincant @bennytgh @jadeyaumakeup .

All astride our favorite little Sumbanese horse Chocolate!!! (Yusss we named literally every animal we came across in Sumba, we has an affinity for furry friends!) Ok so we had just wrapped up our shoot up in the glorious hills of Sumba with the most epic sunset when suddenly charging out through the end of the canyon came Chocolate, galloping hard because he wanted to be in our shoot! "Made it just in the nick of time," he exclaimed breathlessly as @elaineruimin gleefully hopped on his back (no saddle either!) - we still don't know to this day how or where she mastered the skill of horse riding, but we'll just not ask questions and count ourselves blessed everything worked out! - and off she rode Chocolate through the windy trail as the sun set over the ridge with @gabrielnaa leading the way while mixing in a twirl or two! Really such a nice way to wrap up the first day of our shoot in Sumba which really set the tone for things to come because we knew we it was gonna be special!

You wouldn't believe what happened...we had arrived at 5am at the beautiful Sumbanese savannah known as Puru Kambera - we'd seen stunning pictures of it online when we were planning out our trip, but had no idea what it would be like in real life. We'd gotten there over half an hour early and it was still dark, the grasslands illuminated by the moonlight, and so we were just chatting excitedly about the upcoming shoot... we also noticed some dark shapes silhouetted in the distance, and as the sun started to rise, we realized..we were surrounded by wild horses! It was absolutely crazy, and such a beautiful sight to behold!

We sprang right into action and started shooting, and managed to get some sweet shots of @elaineruimin and @gabrielnaa in this beautiful golden light, running around and having so much fun, not to mention chasing horses too - they are so fast but luckily we managed to snap a shot with them dashing off towards the ocean!
Note: this was also the birthplace of Mr. Groot, the awesome wooden log we would literally end up carrying with us from east Sumba to west Sumba and would share our dear couple's prewedding journey and bring a lot of joy to our shoot! You'll see Gab swinging him around under the tree haha!!! Just thinking of all these awesome memories makes us miss Sumba so much! @darrenandjade @intoxincant @bennytgh @jadeyaumakeup

AAAAA so cuteeee Cotton and Peanut! Cotton being the one with Elaine and Peanut being the one with Gab, that's right yassss we really did name all the animals we came across in Sumba hahaha! We visited a goat farm and had so much fun with our furry friends! Actually it was pretty hilarious the goats were already out grazing but we were so thankful when the farmer said he'd round up all of them in an hour and asked us to come back just so we could shoot with them!

They were so snuggly and fun to shoot with and made our experience that much more different and enjoyable, they'd just run around and we'd scoop them up and cuddle up! But yea the little ones have super long legs as you can see in the pics lol! Feeling super grateful this morning for this one in a lifetime experience with our wonderful team and wonderful couple. Canoonnnnnballllllll!!! That's the sound of all of us splashing into the water!After a super fun group trek we made it down to this crazy amazing enclosed waterfall with just the bluest hues, it was so unreal! This was actually on our fun non shoot day (which because we were all just so loving the Sumba experience so much, ended up being another shoot day anyways hahah!!) and our dear friends Elaine and Gab wanted us all to enjoy it too... so we took turns all jumping off the ledge and into the chilly unreal blue waters below! Still can't believe we managed to see such a stunning sight and won't ever forget this one. What an experience! And let me just add that after the longggg trek back up we all sat with the locals and had a ton of coconuts to rehydrate while hanging with the cute doggies that were milling around! Never in a million years did we imagine we'd get to take shots like this at the completely unreal mangrove beaches of Walakiri! So completely different from anything we've seen before and it really just comes alive at sunset!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
A little fun behind the scenes story, what you don't see here was the deluge of people that arrived out of nowhere just at sunset hahah...we had gotten there early just straight chilling and enjoying the place having planned out our shots and thinking oh ok we'll just get all these pics when the light is perfect, right? Then, just when we're about to start shooting, out of literally nowhere comes like over 100 tourists and locals absolutely flooding the place and leaving us with nowhere to shoot haha!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fortunately that's where having a super knowledgeable local guide like @stevanedberg88 to show us where the secret spots were, so we were able to find a magical little inlet away from the madding crowds and then return later to our original spots after everyone had left! And we gotta say that YASSS we're grateful to have worked with such a patient couple in Elaine and Gab who never got fazed the entire time and kept it with their cool under pressure and made the magic straight happen! The magical waterfalls and wondertree of Waikelo Sawah! A couple interesting things about this place that we didn't realize until we got there - the water only starts running at a certain time in the morning (wonder how that works - but it was awesome seeing it start to flow more and more as we stayed there longer!) and it is well hidden amongst all these beautiful lush rice terraces that you would have no clue it was actually there unless you know exactly where it was!

What an adventure with Elaine and Gab traversing literally coast to coast in Sumba and discovering all these wonderful places, this island truly has so many stunning locations, and this was definitely one we were most excited to shoot at because it just felt so unreal and almost like a fairytale! Grateful to all the helpful local folks who helped guide us around that morning, our wonderful team for being so ONZZZ the entire shoot and of course our sweet couple for their positivity, tremendous attitude and cheerfulness! @darrenandjade @intoxincant @bennytgh @jadeyaumakeup

Having this entire beach to ourselves was just amazing, and a reminder of all the blessings we have here on Earth, that we're surrounded by God's beauty everywhere we look! Loved this time with Elaine and Gab and what an experience it was, driving through miles of kampongs and rural areas, to being greeted by the locals at the entrance, to trekking down a pretttyyyy steep rock path ‍ with all our gear in tow and finally making it down to the beautiful rock arches below! So much fun doing our shoot amongst the crashing waves and a beautiful sunset, and a reminder of one important part of life, taking time out to enjoy those around us and appreciating them to the utmost!
