Shapes & Colour Play.
The beauty about real collaboration is the play of ideas and spontaneous interaction. It’s been a colorful journey working with @fellowfolks. The injection of colours and culture has been our main theme throughout our 2 months of planning and juicing out new aesthetic palettes. How we bounce off ideas and topics from one another, and overtime, building a wonderful working relationship, have been a major take off from this experience. And we hope to continue to take the term “collaboration” more seriously, more mischievously and more impromptu-ly because we truly believe that creativity is birthed from unexpected moments.

The smallest 2 tier cake we have ever done! This petite gem is inspired by different ornaments and jewelry designs, with the primary focus of keeping the pattern and decoration minimal and sleek. •
We used herbs to mimic the imprints of the bamboo shoots on the surface of the cake with gold paint, and dress the edges in white pearl and crystals. The symbolism of the bamboo signifies oriental beauty and elegance in the Chinese culture. The element of grace that is encapsulated within these delicate lines in the imprints, ignites sophistication in its simplest form.
This cake measures 3.5 inch by 5 inch square

A different take on this cemented covered structure, by fusing & emulating certain elements from nature as we take inspiration from plant fossils. This time round we molded sugar flowers for the arrangement. •
The matt effect from the muted shades of colour dust used seems to reflect the transition of seasons from fall to autumn, which complemented well with the subtle imprints of herbs. More crafting to work on

From fabric cutting, floral prints, gold trimmings, this cake has been transformed into a unisex structure to represent the east meets west concept of Shanghai Tang back in 1994. The inspiration taken from the tailor made crisp fitting, straight cut mandarine collar Mao jacket and the sleek and delicately embroidered Qi Pao had led us to stacking our cakes in an unusual way by matching shapes and sizes. A bold color palette is used to reflect character, power, wisdom and change, that is crafted in its attire. A playful blend of handcrafted sugar flowers is arranged on the top and second tier to complement and soften its strong stature, and at the same time, to give balance and stability.

Another Peranakan inspired piece;) the idea of stacking vases to celebrate a mom-to-be birthday. Her request to have a little baby doll to mark out this significant moment of her life as she is one month away from giving birth! Instead of one we got her three baby dolls We managed to hold her well after we revealed the cake to her. A definite surprise indeed! #onebabystepatatime
