I've not checked this thread for some time. Chose CP in the end. Alina had been great so far. When i was deciding, Michelle was real bad but her response has been ok during Alina's maternity leave.
I signed with a guy who has left CP, back in Sep 2012 wedding show. But realised after the 2 posts earlier that my package really pales in comparison! So BTB, word of advice, nego nego nego! I just don't understand why the package overall costs can increase so much when my wedding dinner is in the same year and same period (2nd half also!).

Sorry while I'm at it, might as well give more inputs... I just did my photoshoot, asked Michelle to check for me if they can give me a regular room just so that I can change and redo my hair, she said she checked with director and they have no such service... Fine, I do have plenty other friends who had rooms extended to them but not the same hotel so I didn't push it.
Then on the day of the PS itself, when I went to the hotel lobby, the manager at the reception was nice enough to give me a room cause I was drenched in the rain, my gown was dirty and my hair was wet from an outdoor shoot. This is what I've encountered, their service staff at the reception has much more service quality... Based on a previous encounter as well, very polite lady at the reception. Can't say the same for their wedding coordinators/director but in all fairness, think their turnover was really high and those who were left behind were probably overloaded...

can't agree more with you... the wedding sales person i dealt with really didn't handle things in a service oriented way either..
but hey ya at least the svc staff were much better

I agree with Simplyblack, I signed up in Sept 2012 too. But when I attended April 2013 show, seems like 2013 brides (not 2014) who sign up get more perks (like additional 2nd night stay), well perhaps 2013 only leftover weekday dates at April that time. I tried nego alot alot.. but failed. I have also increase my tables from 21 to 26, and booked another additional 3 rooms for family.
I did not book rooms through them because I find it at least S$100.00 more expensive den booking from third-party website (eg agoda..hotels.com). Yes, like what simplyblack mentioned too. Their rates are special because it include breakfast.. free cancellation.. free usage of club services. But I don't need those because nobody has time to eat breakfast or use the club.. also, we confirm won't be cancelling. Brides, do check a couple of website for room rates if you're intending to extend or book a few rooms.
Just a few things to share and for you girls to take note of. My experience with them was kinda mixed. My coordinator was really good and helpful over the 1 year of planning. Hotel reception is good too. But the banquet manager & their staffs (waiters) is quite...... disappointing. I took up Crowne Plaza due to good reviews over the past years (up to 2012). I guess they have some change in management in 2013.. I would love to hear 2013 CP brides review too. There goes mine:
- My first march in has some screw up, music stopped halfway while military march in. The banquet manager den argue with my sister (emcee), arguing behind my back after I was seated. I can see they're both pissed with each other and the manager left his duties and pass to another Chinese manager (who is good and sincere). He just left everything without a proper explanation to me and my husband.
- My sister asked about the leftover red wines. Waiter told her no more left, CONFIRM no more and even challenged her to follow him to kitchen to have a look. She didn't follow cos she's really tired from arguments already. In the end, we left with 20 bottles!! I had 26 tables but only used 16 bottles... which made me suspect WHY left so many?? So I start collecting feedback from guest.. which lead to below point:
- Guest told me their drinks get refill really slowly, and red wine pour abit abit only. Some were being told there was no more beer, but saw beer popping up at other tables! They also told me it is obvious that they were shorthanded, waiters are young and inexperience. The fish was being cut messily too.
I really feel so embarrassed! My guest are quite generous with their angbao but yet gotten such service... I am really afraid they think I am stingy.. I have prepare so many red wine for them!! Now I am starting to do some recovery by inviting them to my house warming next time and treat them those wine and by having a good buffet.. sigh....
So Crowne Plaza brides, pls do take note... I was really busy until I did not take note of the banquet service, I could have specially tell them in advance to be generous with the wine. Regret.....

I will be bringing extra wines, 3 crates to be exact. On top of 26+6 bottles. I had a 2nd night free but worried about the beer not enough so I swapped that out for a 2nd barrel. Thank you so much for reviewing cause I'll definitely ask then to be more generous with the wine n beer, if not I wld have swapped my 2nd night in vain... We paid for 2nd night in a standard room cos frens r staying 2 nights.
And same, my frens booked their rooms through other avenues cause of price !

Ask for the Chinese manager, I think he is either Taiwanese or from China, he is tall and thin, I didn't get his name.
Mine is sliver theme too, very nice, overall my guest love the ambiance. This is the reason why I choose CP cos I love their ballroom.

Yup I did feedback when making payment and after that also drop them an email. Since it already happened, there's no way to reverse it also.. so I just wanna share some pointers for future brides.. no matter is crowne plaza or other places, do take note of those little little things..

I held my wedding here last October, it was a lovely memorable experience. I used their Silver theme partially as well and brought in other décor items. We had to do a lot of coordination with our wedding planner over decor, Alina, and she was really good and flexible with what we wanted. All emails were always answered within 24 hours and she is extremely meticulous about things. I could relax and leave it in her good hands. The banquet team we had was also very good. I had a messy arrangement of table numbers because some tables took 11 people, and some less. Also some tables had a mixture of guests who had Muslim and Chinese menus but they handled all the arrangements well. They service staff looked after us very well ensuring that we had sufficient to eat. Lovely bridal suite as well but the one we got was a little far from the lift so I had to walk a pretty long distance but small matter. Enjoyed our wedding totally and so did my guests. Would recommend this hotel banquet for BTBs!!

Hi ladyj,
I have also consider CP for our wedding as I really like the bridal suite.. However the guys side relatives they stay as far as Chua chu kang even with car it's also abit of distance for them..
You might want to factor in also that what if your guest have to work slight late and it might affect your dinner starting time?
their themes are nice. But I have to let go my package due to unforeseen circumstance sigh

Attended a wedding at Crowne weeks ago. The reception area is big with sofa seats around, good for guests to rest while waiting for banquet to start. However, we did not have good impression of the service staff. They do not approach guests during cocktail session, even after making eye contact, a few of the female staff just stood at the side by themselves, holding drinks on their trays and looking awkward. There were several side tables around but empty glasses were not cleared until guests started moving into the ballroom. Food was average, but service was fast, they change a new glass even before you finish yours.
