I fell in love with conrad just spending 5min in the hotel and having a sneaky peek at their ballroom. Can someone kindly email me the contacts for their co-ordinators and also some of the perks that you managed to bargain for? My email is at [email protected]. Thanks!

Girls,

Had my wedding lunch banquet held in Conrad last Sunday.
I've never thought I have to be coming here to share what happened during my banquet.. as a warning to the Conrad BTB.
But don't get too worry, just make sure you have youre own friends to make sure ths same thing don't happen to you.

Overall I am a happy bride. Until this morning when I came to office and my colleagues who were very close to me told me some incidents.
Which I double check with friend from other tables to make sure the feedback telly.

About one week before the wedding, the couples are supposed to give a confirmed guest list.
I have afew tables of 10 and 11 and 12.
So I gave them accordingly, table 1 - 10pax, table 2 - 10pax, table 3 - 12 pax so on so forth.

My colleagues were sitting in a table which I catered for 12. One of them couldn't make it.
So the rest of the 11 pax knew and told the server to just serve the 12th pax and they will share the food among themselves.
The server told them no, this table only cater for 11 pax.
My colleagues knew it was not possible, because one of my colleague couldn't make it. But they didn't tell me on the day because I was busy going around.
At the end of the day, Conrad billed me as per the confirmed guest list I gave them one week before my wedding.

I've already signed for the bill. That was before my colleagues told me what had happened. When I was signing the bill, I give 100% trust to Conrad being a 5 star hotel.
Now, I do not know which other table have similar experience. I am waiting for the hotel to come back to me with a good explaination.

Next, for our wedding, we ordered 48 bottles of red wine, 3 bottled of hard liquor, and 30litres barrel of beer.

This morning Hubby's colleague told that when he asked for drink, only softdrinks and red wine is available.
I wanted very much to think that it could be that thid "ONE" server was blur.
Disappointed, I called afew other friends and their feedback was the same. Only red wine is available.

This liquor issue DO NOT have any impact on Conrad but US! The wedding couple who chose to only serve their guest with red wine, no beer no hard liquor!!!

I've wrote to Conrad.. This is something I've never never expect to have it coming from Conrad, a 5 star hotel we chose to pay more because of their service.

When we were checking out yesterday, I realised Conrad charge me 4 x local call of $0.54 each.
Although I did not expect to be charge for such... but I ignored and pay for everything.

I have quite some others who feedback that food portio were really small, we again chose to ignore because we know we cannot please everyone.

It was until the feedback our colleagues gave left us shocked.
Felt.. cheated? Not sure it's the right word.
It's like, we trusted Conrad.
We didn't check thru out guest list.
We were told that they will charge us as per the confirmed guest list we gave one week before our wedding. Unless the actual turnout was more.

You know, I don't mind they charge me 12pax even thou only 11 is at the table because that was the number I have them one week before my wedding.
But I felt cheated when i already paid for 12pax, when my no.12 guest didn't make it, and the other guest in the table asked for the food, since it's already paid, why didn't you serve?
Imagine my other guest even ASkED FOR IT!

That's act of dishonest isn't it?
Now am confused already.. whether I should go thru my guestlist one by one to telly with the billing or not.. Because some of my relatives did not register themselves at my recept..

Today I was told that because of my posts, Conrad been receiving alot of phone calls.

Yes they are investigating and will get back to me next week because they will only be able to talk to some of the staff over the weekend.

Me sharing about what have happened to my wedding is not to get attention from Conrad.
Because I will get them to give us a good explaination whether or not I have posting in the forum.

My sharing here is for the brides I got to know thru the forum when I was preparing for my Big Day.
I cannot undo what had happened, and my sharing here is for BTB to take measures on what they can do to avoid the same thing from happening.

Sianz...

Hi milktea20.. thank you for sharing your experience here and I think it's really helpful. Conrad indeed owe you a good explanation & compensation. If it's not you that raised this up here, they may just ignore and other couple may suffer. By the way, may I check which co-ordinator did you liaise with?

milktea20: im shocked that conrad gives such bad service to you. I always had high expectations for conrad, given that their packages arent cheap... this protrays a very negative image of them

can anyone share the package details with conrad?
intending to book for 2011.

Can email me the details if its not convenient to post here.

Milktea20> oh no.. sorry to hear that happened..i was thinking in yr shoes earlier and i feel you.. how could they reject the guests on the extra 'paid' portion? it's really unexpected.. i'm starting to worry if this would happen to my AD in Jul.

i can understand totally what u mean. we paid for a high price is for the quality of service as well as food.. more importantly the service. the staffs should be given the right instructions before the event starts.

i just had my food tasting last weekend.. the serving portion i feel is fine, overall we were all very full that evening. nothing much to complain abt. like what u said, ya we cant pleased everyone.. some who are heavy eaters may find it little as it's still served individually. but i felt to most pple, it is fine.

thanks for sharng milktea20. it's just right for us to post our comments here as this is a public forum. nothing wrong with sharing our experiences. They should be glad that u raised this and investigate on their end not repeat this again to any of the Conrad btbs..

hello all, guess there appears to be some bad vibes about janice. just to share my own experience about her. initially i also felt that she had a bad attitude. this was reinforced by a colleague who met up with her. later on, i realised that she is just not warm by nature. that's just her. having worked with her throughout the preparation for the signing of contract which was unfortunately a rather long process for us, i felt that she is very professional, patient and delivers what she promised. eg she said that she would send over the contract on Fri for our review over the weekend. When i checked my mail at 8plus, i didnt see it and thought that she was busy that week and would only send on mon instead. it was a pleasant surprise to receive it at 11 plus after she finished her event. she was also very prompt in responding to emails. in fact, i find that conrad is the most responsive, prompt and professional in their correspondences compared to other hotels eg Ful, Marriott. my two cents' worth.

Hi,

many years ago my sister had her wedding there too. She ordered 36 bottles of red wine and end of the wedding banquet, one of my sister's friend who used to worked in a restaurant help to count out the empty bottles and realised that there were shortage of 3 bottles. He asked the waiter and after much searching we saw one of the waiter who came out from the kitchen preparation room with 3 empty bottle.

Milktea, so I'm not surprised to see that your guests were not served with hard liquor.

hi, we're in contact with Janice. She's quite prompt in responding to emails.

we're visiting conrad this Sat. Is there anything that's usually standard in most hotels but omitted fr conrad's package? e.g. seat covers are not mentioned in the standard price list.

Thank you!

Hi all,

I'm a btb in Nov 2011 and have been looking around for banquet venues. I was very impressed with conrad's ballroom, as well as the grand staircase leading straight up to the one and only ballroom, reception area is huge too. Everything is to my preference, but the price is definitely much more pricey...somehow or rather, i dun get much reviews on conrad compared to other hotels, i wonder why? like not as well-known...possibility of guests all giving smaller ang paos due to the fact that they dun really know this hotel?

but I have to agree that it's really a very nice place...so really keen to take up the package...anyone recently held weekend dinner over there? any pics or reviews to share?

Just met Eng Yan for my wedding lunch package. My fiancee and i decided to ditch our four seasons plans after we discover the enormous amt of hidden cost and restrictions. We gave up on the negotiation with FS as it was really going nowhere.
We didnt wanted to go to Conrad earlier because its like a 2nd home to us; so we thought of going to a new venue for wedding, but ended up, we still choose back our trusty Conrad; its meaningful for us anyway

Anyway, for those who wanted more insights on the hotel, feel free to beep me at [email protected]. I will try to answer to the best of my knowledge.

For those who wanted to know the package, you can get them on the below link

Hi,

I'm BTB in Oct/DEc 2011 and is keen on Conrad. Can anyone share with me the dinner packages? I'm looking at either 13 or 18 Dec 2011. Any bad reviews about Conrad?

I'm choosing between Pan Pac, Oriental, Sheraton and Conrad.

Thanks

wentan81: Hi! I'm a Conrad Nov 2011 btb! I've done my research and went for the wedding show to taste the food, honestly, the food is awesome!
I don't like Pan Pac coz the ballroom is Lshaped, very long march in, the tables at the end could not see the stage. I've been to view Sheraton as it also has tables of 12 same as Conrad but Sheraton has different ballrooms joined together whereas Conrad is very exclusive with its one and only Tshaped ballroom.
